i'm sort of tired of life now. my doc. says if i want to be comething and make life productive i'll have to move from home. as my qualification is only Higher secondary or junior college or what some know as 10+2 i cannot get a job. after 4 failed tries in 4 different college to complete graduation, 2 failed attemps at earning money, an unstable mind and a distuebed family the only option remains is i move to some other city and start earning.
now there is no way the US consulate would offer me visas unless some MNS hires me and wantes me to work there. and i cannot get a job inot an mnc cause i have no degree certificate nor mastery in any field. so only option remaining is student visas.

for that i'll have to apply for admission in a US college (preferebly NY city as Ninad (thegoat), the only person i know in US, lives there). then once i get student visas i'll study there probably in computer science and side by side earn to support my expenses.

the plan is.
apply for education loan in indian bank, shift to US (NY or close to it), study and earn and make a man out of the boy i am.

can anyone please guide me and advice me before i make a yet another possibly wrong move.

thankyou.

No matter what you do, stick to your studies. You will deeply regret it if you don’t.

As for where, well that’s up to you. But the US is so far away. Would it not be easier to migrate somewhere else in India? That way if you’re in trouble, family is near…but not too near however it is your choice, and whatever you decide, best of luck

Immigration is not easy. Some people struggle for years and years to get their green cards.
Once you come on a student visa, there are many obstacles for you to overcome, one of them being unable to work more than 20 hours per week. Legally, that is.
Travelling back and forth is also risky. In theory if you have done nothing illegal you shouldn't have a problem, BUT Customs here have the right to deny entrance into the US without any explanation.
Make sure you have a support group of Indians in the US. The culture shock can last a long time if you don't have anyone to talk it over with.
Well, I went a little too far. I guess you need to decide if you are coming of not first.
Whatever you choose - good luck to you.

the immigrant

correct YIN. i learnt about not being able to work in the US for more than 20 hrs per week from another website also. it was shocking. that way i can never fund my education or living. so i dropped the plan to shifting on the spot.

by the way, what is this culture shock?

quote:
Culture shock is a term used to describe the anxiety and feelings (of surprise, disorientation, confusion, etc.) felt by an individual caused by coming into contact with an entirely different environment, such as a different country. It often relates to the inability to assimilate the new culture, causing difficulty in knowing what is appropriate and what is not. Often this is combined with strong disgust (moral or aesthetical) about certain aspects of the foreign culture.

I think you should work with a positive attitude in marketing.
Anil Ambani's father, the great Dhirubhai did not have a degree, neither did GD Naidu, the man who made Coimbatore the industrial capital of South India.

Reliance has opened 3 new companies and they need hardworking people with great English skills than mere graduates.

Did u try the paid version of Naukri.com ?

In Mumbai, a taxi driver earns 15,000 rupees per month and anybody who works 12 hrs makes more than that kind of cash. I am sure you have somebody in Mumbai where u can be a paying guest and find a job.

I know that right now, there are 3-4 vacanices in a company named MediaTurf in Mumbai, and if you have the fire in the belly and confidently demand a job [It deals with Internet Advertizing, uploading banner files, data maintenace, meeting clients to apprise stats.. not at all rocket science, you can be trained in 3 days.], you will get it.

I dont know, but I think you should really finish your college education,or atleast get a degree some how,one of my friends just couldnt stay in a class,so he quit college and got a job,I think it was a tele banking or something. And now he's doing a correspondence course in B.com,try something.

Your english is pretty good too,if you badly want a job, walk into a bpo and they would be more than happy to give you a job a job that would give you bout 10k a month easy, and then pursue something on the side,a guy I know is doing this,he's in a band working on an EP,and doing sound engg, and works in a bpo,and supports his girl friend who lives with him...

check the papers REGULARLY,I there are sooo many company's...the opportunitys column is just flooded these days..
