Does anyone else feel the power when a strong Thunderstorm comes blasting through? For some reason I get this feeling of freedom and power - almost like I am riding on one of those bolts and I can feel the thunder through my entire body.

Maybe I am a bit odd... maybe it goes back to being a Saggie with Jupiter (Zeus) as our ruler? Could also be that I have Uranus in the first house as a singleton.

Any one else?

I can think of nothing, that does for me, what a good loud thunderstorm does! While my kiddos are screaming and running for cover, I'm eagerly waiting for the next boomer! Yup! Love thunder

I love the feeling of "energy" right before it storms, when the wind is blowing really hard and it's getting dark; I think it does feel magical!

Thunder storms are fabulous! I find I'm like a weathervane and can 'feel' when a storms coming as I get tingly and goosebumps right before it - does anyone else get that?

I remember being at school and the teacher saying that the thunder was "just God moving his furniture around" so as to calm down the kids who were frightened of the noise.

THUNDERSTORMS!
And Lightning!
I rarely play music. But often especially at night have thunderstorm recordings playing.
That or Rainforest storm. It has all the rainforest sounds with a Gentle thunderstorm that slowly builds to a magnificent cresendo and then slowly subsides into distant thunder again.
My favorite thunderstorm was in the Allegany Mountains. The echoes off the foothills was so unbelievably musical in some ways! It was like some grander Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries!
I love the tingle, the hair standing on end, that charged electric Living air! The way I feel it seem to course through me and amp me in nearly orgasmic surges of energy! I feel more alive during thunderstorms than any other weather! Making love during a thunderstorm is wonderfully extra exhilarating too!

Hee hee...I guess I REALLY LOVE them alot!

We had a beautifully powerful one come through last night. It's so gorgeous to see lightening over the mountains -the whole sky just flashes and the wind smells so clean!!!

Hmmm... I am eagerly awaiting the next storm today.

Although my house may not make it through in tact. LMAO... Mr. Leo and I call it the house of broken items. It was built in 1929 and my landlords basically just slapped a few bandaids on it hoping it would stay together. Several windows were put in upside down and one full pane popped out (so I get to play Macgyver and fix it). The floors are hard wood, but instead of stripping them, refinishing them and sealing them, the landlords painted over the floors (and ceiling) with latex paint. So now the ceiling is peeling in the bathroom and the floor paint is coming up.

I can see the sky through some of the ceiling slats and several floor boards are so weak that with enough pressure someone can fall through. Every week something else breaks.. and my landlords want to know if I want to buy the wreak for $120,000 LMAO.. Hell NO!!! They have such a great senses of humor!!!

I'm just waiting to wake up to a fresh breeze and realize the roof blew off. hee hee

Sounds like my house!
But oh my...I sure did not pay that much for it!
Yikers!
I did see a lovely thunderstorm at the Grand Canyon, it was small but beautiful!
And sitting in a car watching them out on Lake Eries as they come in is wildly wonderfully beautiful! Standing in the wind off the lake is nice too, but then hurry into the car as those flashes get closer!
What a tangled mess my hair gets into from that wild wind! But I love it!

LOL... and to add insult to injury.. Bisbee could have been the victim of a wildfire...

Lightning sparks fire near Bisbee
BY GENTRY BRASWELL

HERALD/REVIEW

SIERRA VISTA — The U.S. Forest Service was at work on a fire caused by lightning in the Mule Mountains on Tuesday evening.

The scope of the blaze, sparked as evening thundershowers scattered across the upper San Pedro River valley, was yet unknown as of about 8:30 p.m., Cochise County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carol Capas said. County dispatchers also received a call about 8:30 p.m. of a lightning strike hitting in Miller Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains.

“We’re getting calls from as far away as Palominas, of people seeing flames,” Capas said of the Mule Mountain fire.
___________

In the 1800's and 1900's this city in the mountains burned down twice. My house is up 60 stairs on a hillside. Basically, I have one way out in case of a fire and I am surrounded by brush. The idiot Tucson newscaster (70 miles from here) stated there was a Red Mountain fire... or Mule mountain fire burning.. but wouldn't indicate where.. but I could smell smoke.

I ended up throwing somethings in a suitcase, getting all my real valuables together and taking two pillow cases (for the cats) out in case I had to evacuate. Sounds paranoid, but in this area ya have to be. LOL>..

Ouch! Yikes! Fire is not a fun thing! Not like that!
THe only thunderstorms I did not like were in Georgia and South Caroliina. Too many BIG tropical related storms! When I lived with my Grandmother the trailer we were in blew over in the wind! That was one night I did not like the thunder!
Next morning we climbed out to see the road washed out and pine trees toppled!

Yeah...in my area we get enough scares from Tornadoes and the recent unusually frequent earthquakes. and the Nuke plant acting up....Well alot of us do keep a "just in case we have to run or take cover now" kit!

I usually like thunderstorms, I'm just not thrilled when the lightning takes out trees, or when tornado warnings develop ~ we had our first one of the year recently, with doppler radar indicating a potential tornado on the ground in our area. We hardly ever have that problem, though.
I also tend to have bad headaches hit as the pressure builds ~ it's happening right now, since we have thunder on the way.

*edit. Fayte lives further north than I do ~ we had more tornado warnings in Northern Summit county than we do here (right at the tip between Summit and Stark ~ they seem to move around us, thank goodness ). It's the bow echoes that are the problem.

I love 'em, always have

My Mom says that whenever a thunderstorm'd come through, I'd get excited and try to race outside.

I've had a running theory that it has to do w/ Uranus placement in the chart.

Yeah those prestorm headaches...I get them too. But I still love the thunder!
Northern Trumbull County Ohio and Mercer/Crawford County Pennsylvania get some nasty tornadoes. Ashtabula and Lake seem to get the worse in the southern parts of the county. Just South of the Trumbull county line is a house that has been hit 3 times! Once down to the foundation! Yet those crazy people keep rebuilding! Once I was sitting on my porch and watched a tornado rip the tops off a stand of trees! Freaky! Stripped the bark right off of them! Another time I had just gotten home from the Niles plaza only to hear on the news that a tornado had just hit it! The entire plaza! Gone! The people dead too!
Scary!

Hi Fayte!

Oh I still love the thunder and lightning, most of the time.. I've been known to complain that we were promised a thunderstorm and that's.. it?

(edited)

*edit. I have a few Uranus aspects myself ~ conjunct ascendant (from the twelfth house), inconjunct Moon/Venus, trine Mars and opposed my Sun.

I love the sound and smell of a good thunderstorm. It is romantic and I somehow seek solitude through them. I also have a Nature CD that plays thunderstorms and I love it also my lil Pisces son has gotten into it..
