You can use the same letter more than once in a Lexigram, right? That does make this a bit easier than an anagram. I've never really done this before.

The letters I have to work with are:

A, D, E, J, M, N, R, S, W, Y

New dreams warn sadness, yes?

Are we jaded as new war made yards?

A new dam made jade yards, we dare wade.

Dare we dream new dreams, sad jaded wars are made near a yard.

As needed, we made war; sad dames made yarn and jam.

Is this method acceptable?

Yeah, I tried to look up some information on it, but it all seemed really contradictory and confusing.

From what I gathered, you have to use all the letters in your name at least once per sentence, but you can use any of the letters more than once.

I guess I'll have to get a book on the subject or something, because even when I look at examples, it doesn't click.

You can use any letters as many times as you have copies available.
You cannot use more numbers of any letter if you do not have those extra copies of any letter.

YOU CANNOT USE THE FOLLOWING WORDS FOR A LEXIGRAM OF THE SEQUENCE
A, D, E, J, M, N, R, S, W, Y
Hence;
here are your errors:
1.
SADNESS
.....you do not have 3 copies of the letter "S"
you have only one letter "S".
2.
JADED.....you do not have 2 copies of the letter "D"
you have only one letter "D".
3.
NEEDED.....you do not have 3 copies of the letter "E"
you have only one letter "E"

you do not have 2 copies of the letter "D"
you have only one letter "D".

4.
JADED.....
you do not have 2 copies of the letter "D"you have only one letter "D".

So here is your creation WITHOUT THE INVALID LETTERS/WORDS, with blanks replacing the invalid words.

A, D, E, J, M, N, R, S, W, Y

New dreams warn____, yes?

Are we____ as new war made yards?

A new dam made jade yards, we dare wade.

Dare we dream new dreams, sad____wars are made near a yard.

As______, we made war; sad dames made yarn and jam.

Thank you, Lexigramer!

So, if I'm understanding correctly... you can reuse letters within the sentence, but you can only use the number of letters within the original phrase within any individual word?

Well, my name actually contains duplicates of a few of the letters I provided. I just didn't want to give away my real name if I didn't have to. For instance, there are actually three E's, but only one D.

So, a valid anagram of my name would be:

Amend Wry Jeers

Or alphabetically...

A, D, E, E, E, J, M, N, R, R, S, W, Y

See my dear, rare ways we dream as we wear jeans and jade.

My day dawns, ye answer and jaw saner ends.

I'm actually pretty good at crossword puzzles, usually.

I'll definitely be reading more of the posts here, you seem to have done quite a bit of work on this subject! Your username is quite apt, given your facility with this subject.

There sure are!
Speaking of words from the letters of her name.......
.
Here is a comparison betwixt the incorrect
and correct letter sequence for her name.

Words in ALL UPPER CASE are the words from her incorrect sequence:

ADEJMNRSWY

words in "lower case" letters;
are from her correct letter sequence for her name:

ADEEEJMNRRSWY

As one can clearly see;
the use of a complete letter sequence can make a big difference, even with short lists such as these!

Yes, you may use your letters in any word in the amounts you have available of each letter.
A-1
D-1
E-3
J-1
M-1
N-1
R-2
S-1
W-1
Y-1

By even using your correct name letter sequence;
your Lexigram attempt in your first post on this thread however still has errors.

You do not however have more than one copy of the letter "S".
You also do not have more than one copy of the letter "D".

athenian200!
Are you still around?
I have been bumping up older threads to see if folks who previously showed interest in Lexigrams and Lexigramming;
were still interested in Lexigramming or not!
I also chose yours because it illustrates for others to see and learn; the reason one must use all the letters from their
SOURCE" when acquiring their Lexigram words; whether by manually hunting or spiraling, or by using a generator.

I have some important update for this thread also.
I shall return!

Are we jaded as new war made yards?

In addition to that being the incorrect sequence; which even by using your correct sequence; did not eliminate the invalid words; as explained in a previous post.....
There are few things I must point out about Lexigramming; mainly when posting here,
or anywhere you want to show where your Lexigram words came from;
ie; your SOURCE/sequence.

Also how to and why to set off what is your creation/Lexigramming attempt;
and or actual Lexigram from other parts of your posts.
1.
Use UPPER CASE LETTERS FOR YOUR CREATION!
2.
Clearly post your name/phrase/date;
or complete sequence of letters from whichever "SOURCE" you are using to acquire your Lexigram words.
3.
Keep your creation separate from other lines/questions/statements in your posts.

By simply using ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS for your creation;
it eliminates much confusion;
such as your line at the end of your creation causes:

quote:
Originally posted by athenian200:
Is this method acceptable?

which appeared to be part of your creation at first glance;
and was not made to be seen immediately as;
a line clearly separate from your creation.

More to come!

PS.
Another example where you did not set your Lexigramming off from the rest of your lines/post clearly as illustrated above.

I'll definitely be reading more of the posts here, you seem to have done quite a bit
of work on this subject! Your username is quite apt, given your facility with this
subject.

Again thank you for the lovely compliment!
But your Lexigram line should have been clearly set off from it by doing it in ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS!

Repeating part of my bump up post for this thread.
athenian200!
Are you still around?
I have been bumping up older threads to see if folks who previously showed interest in Lexigrams and Lexigrammming;
were still interested in Lexigramming or not!
**********************

I also chose yours because it illustrates for others to see and learn; the reason one must use all the letters from their
SOURCE" when acquiring their Lexigram words; whether by manually hunting or spiralling, or by using a generator.
*********************
Your name did of course have some missing letters;
but I did
not know that when I error checked your creation;
and gave you Lexigram words gleaned from your incomplete name letters sequence;
which was:
ADEJMNRSWY

You can use the same letter more than once in a Lexigram, right? That does make this a bit easier than an anagram. I've never really done this before.
The letters I have to work with are:

A, D, E, J, M, N, R, S, W, Y

New dreams warn sadness, yes?

Are we jaded as new war made yards?

A new dam made jade yards, we dare wade.

Dare we dream new dreams, sad jaded wars are made near a yard.

As needed, we made war; sad dames made yarn and jam.

Is this method acceptable?

I am repeating previous information for others interested in Lexigramming; not only yourself.

The name sequence you originally posted on this thread:
A, D, E, J, M, N, R, S, W, Y
could not be the source for your creation; thus rendering it not an actual Lexigram;
when based on the sequence you posted above your creation.
That was confusing, and definitely confusing to folks new to Lexigramming.

However....

Even when using your your complete letter sequence from your name;
ADEEEJMNRRSWY

your creation is still
NOT A LEXIGRAM!

You CANNOT get these words from even your correct name letter sequence.
ADEEEJMNRRSWY

sadness....this word has 3 copies of the letter "S"
your sequence only has one letter "S"

jaded X2 copies....this word has 2 copies of the letter "D"
your sequence only has one letter "D"

needed...this word has 2 copies of the letter "D"

your sequence only has one letter "D"

The words you cannot get are in lower case and bold highlighted.

NEW DREAMS WARN sadness YES ?

ARE WE jaded AS NEW WAR MADE YARDS ?

A NEW DAM MADE JADE YARDS WE DARE WADE.

DARE WE DREAM NEW DREAMS,
SAD jaded WARS ARE MADE NEAR A YARD.

AS needed, WE MADE WAR,
SAD DAMES MADE YARN AND JAM.

This would be your creation;
minus the invalid words:

NEW DREAMS WARN.....YES ?

ARE WE.....AS NEW WAR MADE YARDS ?

A NEW DAM MADE JADE YARDS WE DARE WADE.

DARE WE DREAM NEW DREAMS,
SAD.....WARS ARE MADE NEAR A YARD.

AS......WE MADE WAR,
SAD DAMES MADE YARN AND JAM.

Removing the invalid words renders it as now being an actual Lexigram; just kind of choppy.

You added these two lines later on;
which CAN be gleaned from the letters of your correct name sequence:
ADEEEJMNRRSWY

MY DAY DAWNS,
YE ANSWER AND JAW SANER ENDS.

.

To help folks better understand Lexigramming and correct sequencing of their name/phrase etc.'
The complete "SOURCE" must be used; no letters added, none left out.
SOURCE=the name/phrase/date etc.'
that one is Lexigramming.
