Hello!! I am hoping to get some reassurance here for a few Rosemary plants I had to repot recently. I had them in a big wooden planter box, but they were rootbound, so had to re-pot. When I did the 2 larger plants the roots seemed to be dead in spots(at the very bottom) so I trimmed the dead looking stuff off, fluffed the root ball and repotted in a larger container. I had previously been told that I should trim the roots, if they were way long, even tho I was putting them into larger containers. I did this now( on this past Sunday) to get the energy of the waxing moon for the plants. Well the plants all still look good, they were flowering, and still are and look fantastic! But A day after I repotted, someone e-mailed me and said to not trim the roots, that it would cause bad things( possibly death) to the plants. Should I be worried?? I really love these plants and 2 of them have had for about 3 years, I trim them regularly and use the herb for cooking, incense and other things. I am concerned, but how long before I will know if I caused a worse problem?? I appreciate any info anyone can help with. Thanks in advance!! FalseunicornIP: Logged |

Hi Falseunicorn,I wouldn't worry about it. If it's dead, it's dead and you cut it out. What kind of rosemary do you have? I heard they have some now that blooms pink. One in bloom would make a nice gift for a baby girl. They could grow together, like you and your plants. That's nice. best of luck, skywych IP: Logged |
