I follow the Health Ranger, too.What I try to do is, live small. I'm not materialistic. I have a very hard time throwing stuff out in the trash! Even if I bought a second-hand toy for one of my kids to rescue it from a landfill..it will ultimately get wrecked and go into the landfill.  I'm so sad about landfills.
