Woohoo! Okay then. Finally.

And now I know the difference between Dock and Plantain. Thank you.

Probably makes a huge difference if I'm going to add the leaves to a tincture, heh.

I used to just put the Plantain in vinegar.

(Dried Leaf, of course.

Lots of water in those, especially the BuckHorn.)

That way, it never goes bad, and you always have it on hand in case of emergency.

Of course, you just chew up the leaf and put it on the affected part.

When it's in Season.

When it's not, you pull the Herb from the vinegar, and apply as a Poultice.

Works Wonders.

I was going to soak the dried leaves in my combination of calendula oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil, and then have the oil on hand for making salves or sugar facial scrubs.

What do you think?

But I'll also do the vinegar thing too, thank you for the idea!

Jojoba stimulates hair growth.

Very expensive.

Normally, I will Infuse the Herb (or Herbs, if you like) in Olive Oil.

It is the Most Stable.

Once the Herbally Infused Oil is made, I am free to choose what I mix it with.

I like jojoba for my face, as it's not too oily. I don't mind the Aura Cacia brand and it's not horribly expensive, although there's a local brand here that I prefer (Uncle Henry's). Olive oil on my skin for any reason is just too oily for me.

But do you think that Plantain would be a good candidate for something like that, in addition to using it by itself?

Depends on what you want it for.

That African Black Soap was made from it, but it tends to draw.

Might dry out your skin.

Good for impurities, though.

Excellent! I was just wondering about how to make the African Black Soap from scratch. I love the way that it draws out the impurities, and then I follow up with a calendula/jojoba oil moisturizer.

Thanks!
