I am always happy when I work with soil but since I moved to China I had no access to do gardening.

The new place I moved in has a small allotment. It is full of wild grass and weeds and wild yam. I am still waiting for my sickle to be delivered.

In one corner I started with basil and thyme, two aloes and sweet potatoes.

I live in the north country but I garden year around.

Out in the soil in the summer and in my home + greenhouse in winter!

Currently I am growing cold crops like lettus and kale.

After the first frost, we will harvest our potatos and fruits. The grapes need another month yet .

Hi Randall...

Would you describe what it is like in a salad bar in US? Is it all-you-can-eat style?

I harvested sweet potato leaves and stir-fried them for dinner! Not bad at all!

Juni,
Wow! You have a green house! How I envy you!
Will try cold veggies after I came back from my holiday in December...

Kale reminds me of the grass on the inside of a mower.

I don't know how you can "smooth" kale out.

Heirloom tomatos are on my agenda this year. I`m going to grow them in bales of straw.

Wild strawberries are coming on and if I can keep the dogs and birds from eating them, I will make jam!
