...In a good way...

I harvested my mammoth striped sunflowers and put the huge, bigger than my head, dried flowers with seeds on my back yard kitchen window box and all the birds are visiting while I make breakfast, the squirrels too.

Love the Titmouse with his cute little crest.

I put crystals in the ground so the stalks would grow big strong and straight, and the seeds are huge, but I'm too lazy to shell each one open. I think it takes even more energy for the birds to shell them open.

Birds actually have the shelling down to a science.

I harvested my sunflower patch last week. The chickadees were trying to beat me to the harvest.

I`m drying the heads for fresh seeds over the long winter months.

I mostly will make suet because all the birds love the energy punch. Especially the songbirds.

It's amazing how strong the stalks are even when the heads are weight them down. they bow to the night's darkness, struggling to meet the sun's warmth each day.

I'm going to plant more next year from the biggest seeds that I've saved.

(Glad u r amused by the title, mirage, u r a sweetie to comment, especially with another appropriate song)
