Hiya all,Can somebody tell me if it is true that with transits they use an orb of not more than one degree? On the astro.com site for instance they do use this with transits, plus I also wonder why not more. I might have read it somewhere but I obviously forgot! Thanx! IP: Logged |

Most of us that do transits use 1 degree of arc. One reason, in my case, I only look at the outer planets (Jupiter - Chiron) and most of them move fairly slowly, so +/- 1 degree works well. Its true that you will often feel the transit starting before the transiting planet gets to 1 degree away, but its guranteed to be in affcet when it is within 1 degree. The same is true for relationship readings as well. Lanny IP: Logged |

Thank U Lanny!I have learnt that in synastry you can take 6-8 degrees orb with slower planets and 8-10 with moon and sun to say it in short (or did this only count for our natal charts now . But what I have also learnt is that not all astrologers agree. I guess it helps if we are witnesses of the transists in our own charts as I did a few days ago, when Jupiter was conjuncting my Venus. GEEZZ!! That was delicious! Though I am not sure if that was the main reason for the delight I was feeling So Lanny, you also take only 1 degree with synastry? That's so little! Are there any out there with other comments? Well I thank thee once again! God bless. IP: Logged |

I'm still very much a newbie at anything astrology, somewhere I picked up 5 degrees for anything. I use the five degree rule for transits synastry and my own chart reading. I allow anything close may have an effect. IP: Logged |
