It seems that when people talk about the approaching Aquarian Age, they seem to wax a bit pink'n'rosey. I mean, the best-of-all-cases scenario for the Piscean Age bears scant resemblance to the way it actually panned-out, right? Do ya'll see any potential pitfalls to be found in the Age of Aquarius?IP: Logged |

Yes, including a general breakdown of public order and the possibility of wars that make WW2 look like a snowfight.Always the opimist IP: Logged |

like linda says, there are flase prophets at every turn... even though astrology and other new-but-really-old-age subjects are found widespread, there is also i widespread exploitation of these ancient arts. just searching the net for such information i get relentlessly bugged by new-age con artists promising me that they have "all the answers i need, and if i just pay them this chunky fee, they will perform every kind of magic for my well being" ARG! i have also noticed that many people in my generation (i was born '82), tho free from feeling obligated to any religion or like-dogma, have not replaced this with any free-standing spirituality. there are a few, sure, but i find myself urging people to look at the deeper meaning of life beyond the widespread addictions to promiscuous sex and drug and alcohol use... which is an other thing... we, being the offspring of the hippies, have kept their free lifestyles, but have not kept up their political and spiritual conscientiousness... widespread apathy. on the other side, i find people do have their ears open to new and interesting things, so there might be hope for us yet.IP: Logged |

Child of '80. Ditto. There are so many people my age +/- a few years that find their meaning and solace in drugs and/or alchohol, usually followed by pointless, emotionless, unending sex (and there's nothing wrong with sex itself; ****-buddies are just, ack - I mean, I tried that arrangement once, and...I dunno, it's sort of dehumanizing) - and they don't care to look any further. Re: the apathy - then they don't see...they don't think that they can possibly do anything that could in any way affect the world around them. Political and social concientiousness are essential, but I can't bring myself to blame those that find themselves lacking those qualities...they see no recourse. I mean, I don't agree with that perspective, but if people see no hope, they see no hope, you know? N_w - "Yes, including a general breakdown of public order and the possibility of wars that make WW2 look like a snowfight." There's a thin line between pessimism and realism, isn't there? All possibilites should be examined, and the ones you've raised seem perfectly valid. Do you (or any of ya'll) see any more specific difficulties that may arise? If so, how may they be addressed? So far, it's been all 20-somethings-or-sos responding - whatever upcoming struggles are to come will be ours, regardless of the problems' deep-reaching roots. We should take it upon ourselves to find the answers. IP: Logged |

The Aquarian Age will be about Knowledge for All. So keep networking your knowledge here and other places, since the internet is a tool of the Aquarian Age. Plug into progressive news sources and stay aware so that you can effectively and intelligently communicate, like any Aquarian. Get on lists and go to meetings, and be a Friend to All. These are just some of my thoughts Here is a great progressive news source, I read all of the daily columns and news here...bookmark it... http://commondreams.org Bright Blessings, Carlo IP: Logged |
