I read some place that hard aspects between Venus and Pluto sometimes indicate an unstable blood-sugar level. So I was thinking, maybe this applies to transits as well. (I do have the natal conjunction, and I know some astrologers coun it as a stressful aspect - what do you think?)Pluto entered my 12th house in 1997 (and I have Venus in the 9th). 1997 is just about when I started having these symptoms that I only recently found out mean I have very low blood-sugar. (On asking my doctor what causes it, I got the reply that "It's natural in you". Wow! When I said that my last blood-test of 1994 was perfectly fine, he acted as though he never heard me. Heh? Arrogant GP...) (It's not diabetes, though - 2 hours after meals, when you're supposed to measure it, my blood-sugar is at 4-4.5. 5-7 is normal, and a blood-sugar level of 4 decreases the ability to think in abstract terms. And as a student, well...). If anyone has any theories or info at all on this, I'd be very thankful (If it's a transit thing, maybe it will go away!? ) (We have about one foot of snow here! And with the snow comes the Christmas mood )

Hi Magnolia What's your 6th house ruler? Do you have any planets natally in your 6th house? Sue PS: What planets (if any) do you have currently transiting your 6th house? IP: Logged |

Hi Magnolia a friend of mine who was a nurse told me that in your case it sounds like you have insulin resistance. This is like pre-diabetes and is rather common but should be treated. If you are under 40 years old, you should get tested for polycyctic ovaries which seems to go hand in hand with this condition. (if you have any other symptoms) IP: Logged |

Bissie, so true!! Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is a pre-cursor to type II diabetes which is ultimately insulin resistance. Polycystic ovaries upset the whole endocrine balance. Magnolia, according to Cornell in his Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology , sugar is ruled by Venus and is the physiological reaction of Jupiter. Eileen Nauman explains in her book The American Book of Nutrition & Medical Astrology that Venus and Jupiter accompanied by a hard aspect from Saturn will bring on diabetic tendencies. She also says a Venus/Pluto conjunction may mean potential problems with sugar, especially if the sign Virgo is involved. She recommends Vit. E, by the way, as this helps the pancreas. Donna

Magnolia, Donna is exactly right. I have insulin resistance and polycystic ovarian syndrome. It can be very hard to get a diagnosis, as both these conditions are poorly understood - they don't even know exactly where in the body the problem lies! It took me 25 years of constant complaining to maybe 50-60 doctors to get some answers. In the end, all I needed was a simple blood test for the diagnosis. The insulin resistance has taken longer, because the GP needs to know how to interpret the lab results: my reading is "normal", which just means I don't have diabetes, but it is on a continuum. Some people have used metformin, but I'm worried by the side-effects. I have had some good results with homoeopathy and the general principles in Linda's "Star Signs", such as taking vitamin E and the red grape juice (watered down because of the high sugar content). Diet and exercise are very important. In my chart, Venus and Jupiter are in opposition with a wide orb, and Venus is conjunct Saturn with a wide orb. (Each time just a few minutes away from 8 degrees) Technically, Venus is unaspected. Donna, you may comment on this if you want - does this sound like a textbook case?? IP: Logged |

Postcript:I forgot to say that PCOS is genetic, can cause low fertility, miscarriages and birth deformities, and pregnancy and childbirth can be physically detrimental for women with PCOS. These are all things to consider if you have PCOS and are planning a family. IP: Logged |

Hi everyone!Piscemoon, do you have children? I have PCOS and am trying to fall pregnant at the moment. I am trying to stay positive and am using some natural remedies. My friend also gave me reiki and I will be seeing the gynea on the 6th of Dec for a check-up. My last scan was in January so I am hoping for a miracle. Donna, could you take a quick peek and see if you can see anything re the PCOS and possible pregnancy? I would really appreciate your input. 10 July 1973, Brits, South Africa, 18H57. Thanks a lot! Donna, could you take a quick peek and see if you can see anything regarding the PCOS and pregancy IP: Logged |

Hi Moonshadow,No, I haven't been able to maintain a pregnancy to full-term. Pregnancy makes me VERY ill, and my health has suffered as a consequence. If I was trying to get pregnant, I would use the astrobiology method outlined in "Love Signs". I would also use prayer, meditation, affirmations and creative visualisation, homoeopathy, auto-suggestion and pretty well anything else that wouldn't harm me or the potential baby. I am sure that you could get pregnant by using the right methods at the right time. I know just loads of women with PCOS who have children, most of them more than one. IP: Logged |

Dear Moonshadow. It took me ages to get pregnant with number one and I know how frustrating it is..But I recently read in a british magazine about a woman with PCOS who, after trying for ten years, got pregnant after changing her diet completly. She cut out most carbohydrates, like bread, white flour and pasta, and started also to eat something very often, like every 15 minutes. I remember the woman said she had found all this information on the internet. So start searching, and maybe you find something that will help you. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Thank you so much for your feedback, all of you! I obviously have to see a different doctor about this - one who'll pass me on to an endocrinologist(?)! Like I mentioned before, I've only had the symptoms for the last 5 years - maybe, just _maybe_ the process is reversible!? Pisces Moon & moonshadow: I'm so sorry about the complications you're having with pregnancy... Cat: Gemini is my 6th house ruler. Jupiter resides there using Koch, but the Placidus one I feel is "my" chart. Jupiter (trine 5th house Moon in Taurus as the only major aspect) is my chart ruler, btw; Sag rising. Regardless of house system, Mercury (8th house) is conjunct Venus, Mars(9th) & Pluto(8th)(all 4 in Libra), and in sextile to Neptune (12th house). It would be nice if you could make some sense out of it - I know _I_ can't! Donna: I happen to be a Virgo Sun, so it figures perfectly IP: Logged |

eeehrrmm... Moon is in conjunction with Jupiter! Sorry about that... (And, again, if Gemini's on the 6th house cusp, I guess Mercury is the house ruler...hmmm, gotta go get me some orange juice - I'm lacking in concentration here! And it's not funny. Or is it? Have to get used to the idea...that I'm thinking out loud?!) IP: Logged |

If you've got Moon in Taurus in the 5th conjunct Jupiter, I don't think you'll be childless!IP: Logged | |
