I'm studying the chart of a friend, who had eating disorders for years. She has Moon/Jupiter exact conjuction in Taurus in the 12th house. This conjuction is opposite Neptun on the cusp of the 6th house. I'd like some comments on this aspect, especially when it comes to dealing with the more positive energies. Thanks.IP: Logged |

Taurus LOVES food and with a Moon/Jupiter conjunction..forget about it. In the 12th, shows it may be secretive, in some way. 6th is a health house. An opposition to Neptune shows an addictive quality and a great sensitivity. The Moon/Jupiter/12th has a real religious/spiritual feel to it. Also getting in touch with the deeper workings of the psychology. So she could definitely benefit from counseling. And she should also develop a strong spiritual foundation and faith. IP: Logged |

Exactly. Taurus loves food. She says herself that she was on the edge of anorexia for years. When I met her she thought she was doing fine, but I still think she has a weird relationship to food, very careful, very small plates, measuring and measuring. Nibbling, not really eating. She is a great cook and love to have people over for dinner. But she doesn't really eat herself. And I was thinking this could be the 12th house influence (surpressing her needs) as well as the Neptun opposition (fooling herself). IP: Logged |

I think if she didn't have the discipline she has, she'd weigh 300 pounds. And she knows it. I'm amazed at her discipline, considering these configurations. What is Saturn doing in her chart? The Moon/Neptune opposition can be difficult, because there are conditions, that are hard to grasp, part of Neptune's foggy realm. So the psychology behind it all is not easy to access. With the Moon, you often look to the mother. IP: Logged |

Thanks for mentioning Saturn. It's in Pisces, 9th house, opposite her Mars/Uranus/Pluto in Virgo 3rd house. Guess that says a lot about dicipline...I can imagine Saturn holding strictly all three planets, not allowing any unplanned moves...

Also that this is the Pisces/Virg axis. Naturally ruling the 6th and 12th houses again. Virgo has to do with diet and digestion. I suspect that many people with eating disorders will have some Virgo going on in their charts. Very interesting subject , you've brought up. IP: Logged |

I know this is a very old post, but I thought I'd add something to it.I think I might've posted this before, but I don't remember. Anyway, one of my friends has always had strange eating habits, even when we were little kids. She never ate much, or sometimes would skip meals all together, and she's a very picky eater (even now). But now that we're older, it seems to have gotten worse. She is a competitive skiier and even spends the entire winter in Vermont at a ski school, training and competing. She has always been a very optimistic person. Well just a few months ago, my mother and I were eating lunch, and she told me that my friend was having a hard time putting on weight (her mom and my mom are best friends as well). Then, a few weeks later, I had a birthday party, and my friend told me that she doesn't like food and she doesn't like to eat. At breakfast that morning, she just picked at her food/nibbled at it a little bit. She has never clearly expressed any insecurity with her body however (but then again, I never know what she could be thinking underneath). Although when she was little, she was always drawing pictures of herself as a fairy or a princess or something, and the drawings of herself were always stick thin girls (I'm not sure if that means anything though, but it could). I recently saw a picture of her, and while it was only showing her from the chest up, she still looked very bony and "out of proportion" (i.e. her head seeming to big for her body). Anyway, I was posting this on here because I was wondering if there was anything in her chart that may indicate that she has an eating disorder (or could maybe be developing one). I don't know for sure if she has one cause I don't see her very often (we don't go to school together anymore), but it is questionable. Based on the other posts I have read in this thread, it seems like astrology may have some sort of connection to eating problems. She was born August 7, 1991 at 6 AM in Wellesley, MA. Sun in Leo Moon in Cancer Mercury in Virgo Venus in Virgo (retrograde) Mars in Virgo Jupiter in Leo Saturn in Aquarius (retrograde) Uranus in Capricorn (retrograde) Neptune in Capricorn (retrograde) Pluto in Scorpio Lilith in Capricorn Asc. Node in Capricorn Ascendent in Leo 2nd house in Virgo 3rd house in Libra 4th house in Scorpio 5th house in Sagittarius 6th house in Capricorn 7th house in Aquarius 8th house in Pisces 9th house in Aries Midheaven in Taurus 11th house in Gemini 12th house in Cancer Like I said, I know this thread is very old, but I figured this would be the most appropriate place to post this. ------------------ sun/mercury in taurus, moon in leo, scorpio rising, venus/mars in pisces IP: Logged |

I’d imagine it’s someone who’s potentially able to quickly put on a great deal of weight - hence the disorder.Look for Jupiter aspecting the ascendant. IP: Logged |

I know someone who's struggled with anorexia for years. They are a Cancer sun, Leo asc and Jupiter in Leo (so yes, Jupiter aspecting the ascendant like you said). What they don't like about themselves is their "round" (moon - rules Cancer) face. I feel sorry for them with their daily struggle witih food. IP: Logged |

In my natal chart, Chiron is situated in my sixth house of health, routines, diet, and work. I've been trying to find more information on this placement, but I haven't been successful. Hopefully my experience with this placement will help other 6th-house Chiron people to understand this placement a bit better. Some celebrities with this placement include Jessica Biel, Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Lopez, and Carol Carpenter. The house in which Chiron is situated often represents the area in which we have recurring problems, beginning in childhood. It can show what we're compulsive about. It also shows the area that we're able to teach other people about, despite having a lack of success in that area, ourselves. Here are some ways Chiron in the 6th can manifest: 1. Eating Disorders: I've found this to be very common among people with Chiron in the 6th. We often have a preoccupation with eating habits with this placement. Personally, my relationship with food has never been "normal". When I was young, I ate too much and was too overweight. Now, I eat too little and I'm too thin. Carol Carpenter passed away because of her eating disorder, and Jennifer Aniston has reported having an eating disorder. 2. Childhood illnesses: Many people with Chiron in the 6th were born with illnesses, often hereditary, which will reoccur throughout their lives. Look for these themes to pop up when Chiron is contacted by transit. 3. Ability to teach others about health: Despite my eating disorders, I know everything about food and nutrition, and I even thought about becoming a nutritionist. It is common for 6th house Chiron natives to have the ability to teach others better eating habits, even though they don't apply these habits to their own lives. 4. Workaholism: This placement often leads to compulsive work habits. 5. Hypochondria: Again, this ties into a preoccupation with health. People with this placement always feel like there is something "wrong" with them, even if this is not the case. Feeling satisfied with the state of one's health is difficult with this placement because the native will always find something to worry about when it comes to health. Personally, I always think the worst, and sometimes even hold off on my doctor appointments out of fear of what they will find. http://astrolady.wix.com/astrolady#!home/mainPage Does she have Chiron in the 6th? I am a recovered anorexic, I suffered from the onset at 16 until around 21 when I would say I finally reached a healthy weight. I was on the brink of hspitalisation but I pleaded with the authorities to give me a chance to do it myself. Needless to say I did and have lived to tell the tale.Factors I have in common with your subject; Leo AC conjunct Jupiter in the 12th Other possible contributing factors: Saturn in Virgo in H2 opposite Sun and Mars conjunct in H8 Moon square AC Again, I'm speculating but I feel these are particularly harsh aspects IP: Logged | |
