Hi Guys I was just reading a post from Financechick that made me think this could be an interesting topic for us to discuss.Ok...first question....... Do you believe in reincarnation? And if you do....do you believe that we get to choose our current natal chart? And finally, if you believe you chose your chart...why do you think you chose the chart you currently have? I'm really interested to hear everyone's thoughts about this Sue IP: Logged |

Great Topic, Cat! I feel that if I beLIeVE in Astrology, then I must also adhere to the tenets of reincarnation. At least, I think I should. In my ONION, the two are inseparable. I feel that we all choose many (if not all) of our Placements. Either we choose our chart or at least play a part in choosing. I could be wrong, of course, but that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Why did I choose what I chose? Hey, isn't that what Life is about--trying to figure all that out by experiencing it? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hi SueMy opinion About reincarnation, I don't have doubts. Only like this we got to explain the social injustices and the difference of opportunities that it is given in the hour of the birth to each one of us. If we chose our natal chart ? For sure, and depending on the degree of evolution of the spirit, more karmic debts he will accept to pay in this life. Jakie

Yeah, I think that I did; and I also think that "I" (Me, not not me...uh, yeah) has a terrific sense of humor:"Oh, OK - so...so, no - this is gonna be great... >muffled laughter< Let's give her...ok...let's give her an Aquarius Moon...and then, and then...OK...and her South Node'll be in the 4th House (in Aqua), so her North Node's in the 10th (in Leo)...and then, OK, OK - let's put her Jupiter (in Virgo! - yeah, Jupiter in Virgo - that's priceless!) and then...wait, OK - I know - a strongly aspected Mars in Leo in the 10th, too. >wipes laughter tears away, continues<" Seriously, though, not to co-opt the convo, but...no, I'll make another thread. To answer the last question: I have no idea why I chose this chart. It seems like I should have a pretty heavy thrust towards career and/or commo, but then...heck, I dunno. OK, I'll ask a question re: hemispheres here: My charts has a heavy emphasis on the eastern hemisphere (7 planets there), but I don't know what to think about the North/South distribution of planets. The run-down: *I have 5 in each (6 in the North, if you count Chiron in the 7th). *Both my Sun & Moon are in the South (5th and 3rd houses, resp.) *My strong venus (someone er two said it's leading my chart) is in the North (in the 7th) So, which hemisphere (North or South) would you say has sway? How 'bout both? Or neither? IP: Logged |

Aw - I don't. Life can be hard, but there's unmatchable creative tension to be found Seriously - most of the time I'm uncomfortable here (alive, etc), but, in an odd way, it's not an altogether unpleasant discomfort. IP: Logged |

Anyway, i think my problems with libras in general and the fact i was supposed to have been a libra in my last existance points to some kind of, hrrm, bad thing going on in general.IP: Logged |

yes, I do believein reincarnation.I also believe that we choose our chart placements..we choose our parents..we choose when and how we're going to die. I must have done pretty good in my past lives but I still have past life relationship kharma to work through (obviously). Some Day my PRINCE will come...for now..it looks as though I'm resigned to kissing a few toads. LOL IP: Logged |

damn, I just wrote my reply to that in that other thread and now I see this one. OK, again: I believe that we choose our life that is our chart. I think our chart is merely a blueprint, a very precise map of us, a sort of a technical sketch of the energies that were there at the time when we were born and are now materialized in us. We and our chart are the same thing, but explained or, if you will, materialized in two different ways. This is just my humble opinion, anyway. So, by choosing what I am I chose my chart - but I didn't make it myself, it is just a by-product, an explanation of who I am. I'm just having kind of a hard time explaining it, that's all. And, therefore, of course I believe in re-incarnation. Good luck with this incarnation, everyone! IP: Logged |

I don't really believe in reincarnation (and I definitely dont think I would have chosen certain things about my chart)...but I've always wanted to be a Scorpio. ------------------ "What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us." -Ralph Waldo Emerson IP: Logged |

Interesting thread. I believe in reincarnation and I do think we choose our charts. I think we decide what lessons to learn in this particular life for soul growth.IP: Logged |

Hi Everyone Great posts from everyone I personally do believe in reincarnation. Many years ago I was chatting about this with someone who didn't believe in it. She said to me "You just want a second chance in case you get it wrong" Anyway, I too (as some of you have already mentioned) have looked at charts and thought wow - why would they choose that aspect etc. If you think about people like Hitler, Bin Laden, Sadam Hussain it does make you wonder. However, here's something to think about.... A large majority of psychologists, therapists, counsellors have themselves suffered some form of abuse - emotional, verbal, physical - at some point in their lives. That actually makes a lot of sense to me - because they have experienced it, they have a much deeper understanding and empathy with the patients they work with. Now in order for anyone to be abused, there has to be an abuser. I guess it's kind of like "who's going to play good cop and who's going to play bad cop" Life's a journey. A bit like reading a murder mystery book - you never know what twists will develop in the plot and you don't get to know who did what until the last chapter.....and sometimes not even then as there's always the sequel. I think people choose their personalities/charts before coming here but I also believe you still have free will. I think people are presented with growth opportunities but it's up to the individual what to do with them. People like Hitler etc had enormous potential for leadership and to do good things. They chose to use their gifts for a different purpose.IP: Logged |

Hi Alena Yes I do agree with you that we do have free will - there is good and potentially bad in all charts. Now what do you think makes some people choose the bad.....or was that already agreed between souls (to enable growth in this lifetime) before the incarnation? Sue IP: Logged |

Hi Sue Good question. I think that we choose what we would like to learn for soul growth and I think we may choose the circumstances of our lives, who we deal with to help us. However, after that it's up to us as individuals to take responsibility for the actions/paths that we take. I'm not sure why people would choose the "bad" path. I could go into a weird area as to my views/beliefs on all of this but I'm not sure how astrologically relevant it would be. I could turn it into a religious discussion LOL. IP: Logged |

I completely agree with you, Alena and Cat!And I think it's like Alena said: you choose the circumstances and the people you need for your soul's growth, and then you choose with your free will what to do with them. Maybe some people choose the "bad path" because they need it more for their soul to grow in the long term. Like Cat said: one has to play good cop for the other one to play the bad cop. I don't know, it's just a thought. IP: Logged |
