I would pick Taurus as more stubborn. LOL I've outdone even a Scorpio. (no I am not proud of my stubborn streak)

Hi Taj

Think about the elements.....
Taurus = Earth
Scorpio = Water

Which moves?
How they move is a different story

cat,
thanks for that notion!
i was actually 'fixated' on the fixedness/fixity of both and overlooked the elements.

umm...movement.
water can be a tidal wave.
earth can be an intensity to the 12th power quake.

alena,
how does one soften a taurean's stubborn stance?

Carlo, even though I am a Taurus that was pretty funny.

Taj, whatever you do never try to talk a Taurus out of being stubborn. They will only become more so. Try reverse psychology or take them out to dinner (most of us love food). LOL Thank God I have a good metabolism.

And give them candy bars. Chocolate is the surest way to melt a Taurus's resolve

if it doesn't work, see my last post

Alena, how long have you been a Taurus? I am just curious...

Love,
Carlo

I've been a Taurus for 23.. um, cough...33 years.
How long have you been a Virgo and what degree is your Sun?

carlo,

alena,
reverse psychology... hmm...if there is any sign whose forte is exactly that, it'd be scorp. their minds are so convoluted they'll try anything. lol.
but wouldn't taureans sense that they're being 'softened' that way?
(my saggie brow is furrowed, uncomprehending of such circuitous route. even if, in retrospect, my scorp asc. and vedic scorp sun find it wholly fathomable. heh)

oh, that's why they clash!
scorps are so controlling and taureans cannot be budged unless they want to (or deem it necessary?)

Carlo,

I have been told that I am stubborn many times by many different people. But I think as I get older I am getting a little better with it.

It was nice of you to say those things about Taurus girls. I can be sweet and placid at times but I also have a Moon/Venus conjunction in Aries so I'm a little on the fiery side. I don't think I look like a Taurus at all (maybe the eyes ?), of course I have Leo Rising so........

I enjoyed your article on Saturn, it was written with a good sense of humor. I don't know if I will be the only one to say this but, my Saturn return was great. Alot of positive changes occured during that time. Saturn in Gemini has not been so great. (it's square my stellium in Virgo/Libra---whoa)........as for Virgos, I seem to get along with them really well. I am not kidding when I say that almost everyone I am close to has a Sun or a Moon there (including my family). It's downright bizarre. LOL Must be a south node thing. Ok now I think I read somewhere that your wife is a Leo. How did a Virgo get together with a Leo? Does she have a Virgo Venus or Moon?

Taj, be smooth with the Taurus. Being the sign of the bull we can see through "bull"sh**. LOL You'll have to try the reverse psych over dinner while he/she is mellow.

IceMists, I promise you that I am not just moving in an effort to get to the fridge LOL (maybe to the supermarket too--just kidding)

for some reason, i attract people with taurus in either sun, moon, or rising. at any rate, i am familar with the dilemma and fortunately it is not too hard to work with.

the important thing to understand is that the sign taurus will endure a lot of minor grievances to keep the peace, because they value their energy and time so much. they put "weight" and "value" into most anything they do.

the one way that i've found most successful is to craft what it is that i desire in such a way that it MERITS additional thought, consideration and action. that it is simply not a mundane request, and it implies to them to be respectful, and how they need to re-consider the typical "shove it on the shelf" attitude.

it takes some practice, but it works

hi carlo,

that reminds me how to get a stubborn taurean to dance . . . release a few little bugs and mice in the room.

hell will not freeze over for too long.

hehehe

I've had two friends, one Taurus, one Scorp, and I managed to upset them both to the point of no longer speaking to me.
But... the Scorp came around before the bull, actually a couple months before the Bull.

This topic reminded me of an excerpt from one of my favorite books, The Jitterbug Perfume. With profuse apologies to Tom Robbins, here goes:

"Bones are patient. Bones never tire nor do they run away. When you come upon a man who has been dead many years, his bones will still be lying there, in place, content, patiently waiting, but his flesh will have gotten up and left him. Water is like flesh. Water will not stand still. It is always off to somewhere else; restless, talkative, and curious. Even water in a covered jar will disappear in time. Flesh is water. Stones are like bones. Satisfied. Patient. Dependable. Tell me, then, Alobar, in order to achieve immortality, should you emulate water or stone? Should you trust your flesh or your bones?"

Alobar had stared at the lama and said nothing. After several minutes, the lama had asked him why he remained silent. "Water babbles to stone," said Alobar, "but stone will not answer."

My father is a Taurus, a true epitome of that sign. Dependable, trust-worthy, family-oriented, a veritable Rock of Gibraltar. Even his career was a Taurean trait - he was a tax auditor for the federal government. His youngest sister is a Scorpio and she was as passionate, volatile, emotional shrewd and headstrong as her sign. They were very close as siblings. Iz would look up to her brother and counted on him emotionally. My father was proud of her achievements and how stoically she faced adversity.
The stubborn question comes in light to an event that changed their relationship. My parents and my aunt belonged to a social club in which my father was running for club chairman. According to my mother (whose account is undoubtedly biased by spousal loyalty), Iz tried to sabotage my father's entry to the desired position, and that Iz wanted it also for herself. No one really sat down to talk and air things out and feelings (and toes) got increasingly hurt and stepped on. From there on end, my father refused to talk to his sister. He will not stay in the same room when she is there, also, and as far as he is concerned, she is persona non grata. That was over 12 years ago. It is a quite sad turn of events, because they are both in their 70s and are the only surviving members of their family. Both are diabetic, Iz suffering from complications more so than my father. One or the other could die and there still would be no resolution. My aunt has tried to make overtures through the years and yet, my father still refuses to talk to her. So to answer the query, in my experience, hands down to stubbornness goes to Taurus.

Yes, it's absolutely delightful book! It speaks to me even after having read it so many times. Tom Robbins' birthday is July 22, 1936.
