Hiya beautiful!

I have a question regarding Progressions and Transits. I know you can check both to see what the possibilities are for the future but when does something in your progressed chart change? I mean for instance my progressed Venus is currently 1 degree away from my natal Ascendant, when it will change will it do so with one degree or what? Maybe a stupid question but hey...

And can you put your progressed planets on the natal ones of your partner? Or can you put your progressed planets on the progressed planets of your partner? Do you see what I am getting at?

Is it also possible that something from your progressed chart to you natal tells you something is going to happen in a particular field but the current Transits don't or other way around? Or do they always fall together? I guess not huh? Makes no sense at least.

And where can I read about how a progressed planet works out in my natal chart. Can you use the interpretations like the Transits?

Just very, very curious to know, I am intrigued so very much! I know I should buy books but right now I just wanted to ask you guys.

Hi Mercy
If you go to www.astro.com
scroll down the drop down option re chart types - you'll find and option for "Progressed Chart". You can then see how your chart progresses each year.

I haven't studied the effects of your progressed chart but they certainly are very interesting......
eg: When I started my relationship (12 year one) with my ex my natal moon had progressed to my 7th house - big indicator of a new relationship...spookie hey

Sue !

Oh, now I see, dombo me! You can change the date! Oóóów! Thanx!

But do you know how to interpret a progressed chart? Can I use my book of Transits on it as well? Say Venus conjunct Ascendant for instance?

Oh and with your ex, was it your progressed 7th house or your natal 7th house? Am I silly again?

Because the Moon has progressed to the 7th house in Aries (not my natal 7th). And the other person also has his moon progressed in the 7th in Pisces.
Hmmm, complicated.
No but I believe you meant that the progressed moon had moved into your natal 7th or what? Geez, sorry!

However his progressed Moon moved it's way into MY 7th. My natal moon was already in his 7th but progressed in his 9th.

I have só many questions.

Mercy
I'll re-read your posts later

I meant in my progressed chart my moon was in the 7th house.
ie:
My natal chart - Moon in Sag 4th house. 7th house cusp pisces.
Progressed chart was - Moon in 7th house. Hmmm can't remember off hand what my 7th house cusp was then (I'd have to check).

So I wasn't comparing progressed to natal chart stuff. Just looking purely at the progressed chart. Does that make sense?
Sue

PS: If you can remember any dates when you started a new relationship - check out your progressed chart for those dates. You'll find it interesting to see what was going on in your progressed chart
Also to further complicate things take a look at the aspects that your progressed chart was making to your natal chart at that time....have fun

I am getting more excited by the minute!

Yes I have started checking an ex + date out and aspects to the natal chart...coming up! Isn't it confusing that you can also put your progressed planets in your natal houses? Aren't there just too many possibilities?!
Like Bissie once said how my progr. moon in my natal 8th makes me... but it is also in my progressed 7th which makes me

Wow, I am gonna check, and check some more!

Thanx Virgi!

Hey Mercy
Just pull up the option "Progressed Chart" (on it's own don't include the natal/transit stuff as that gets way tricky)

Then once you have your progressed chart on the screen click on the top right - can't remember what it says but on clicking that it then brings an adobe/acrobat reader file. Scroll down to the bottom of that and the last grid shows progressed chart aspects to natal chart

Yes it's amazing - I was stunned when I first did this on my own chart.

Ok Sue, I will. I'll let you know how I done?
I did some dates and people but....nothing really that amazing. Yet we do have to keep in mind that transits and aspects and well...just the whole thing.

Though, this time it seems spectaculair! Maybe I am just blinded!
Well actually the transits at this moment are not that spectaculair for me but for him...boy they are. Yet my progressed chart (and some other stuff) seems to be

Catch ya later!

Mercy, do you also progress the angles of your secondary progressions? There is much to be learned when it becomes a daily dynamic chart.

Mercy, excuse me, perhaps I am being presumptous. Do you use an ephemeris in doing your progressed chart? Or do you rely on the On-Line astrological services to do it for you?

Boron!

I am a person who likes to know about everything here and there. I never give myself time or have the patience to go really really deep what these things are concerned. I would like to but it only works with me when I do little bits at the time, something else (or two) and then a little bit again.
So, yes I use the internet but I have the ephemeris as well. I pressume it'll take more time to do it 'by hand'...
But I really don't know what the angles of my secondary progressions is?

Would you like to tell me?

Mercy, you do have your natal chart with you? The Ascendant/Descendant and the MC/IC axis are the significant Angles of the chart. However, using the day-for-a-year progression system, technically called "Secondarys" (because it is the 2nd system known) natal MC begins to rotate appx 1 degere per day from the moment of your birth -allowing one rotation (day) per (civil) year. This rotation allows all sorts of aspects, transits to the progressed planets to occur. I do not know how old you are now, but to accurately determine the entire Secondary chart, with transits, it must be calculated using one's natal Sun and year of birth position. The Secondary progressed chart appears to have much to do with emotions and feelings rather than foretelling specific events. If you are interested in learning more, you can e-mail , or PM me on this site.

Yes please Boron, I do want to learn more. Thanx for the explanation!

You say the day-for-a-year progression system is technically called "Secondarys". I thought you could sort of predict with a progressed chart or isn't this what you meant when you said: " the Secondary progressed chart appears to have much to do with emotions and feelings rather than foretelling specific events."

And I am not sure what you meant by this:
" I do not know how old you are now, but to accurately determine the entire Secondary chart, with transits, it must be calculated using one's natal Sun and year of birth position."

Sorry!

PS: I can also email you if you like that better!

Oh wait a minute....

Maybe I do understand. Do you mean the progressed chart itself is more of a feeling (like my and his moon in the 7th in our progr. chart)which is the same as a natal chart or isn't it? But when transits hit angles in your progr. chart (or natal) you can foretell? Hahaha, I keep trying!

Geeeezz

Mercy, you are getting the idea. I say this because there is a system of progressions that can fortell certain events in life, But for now, we can work with the Secondarys. (I notice that this board is going to set up an educational forum to teach Astrology, I wonder if it is not take from my questioning you) OK, on the e-mail, if you want to do it that way. I'll see you in the e-mail..

OK Mercy, I am ready to show you how to calcualte your progressed chart.

First take the Sidereal Time increment of 9.856" per hour calculated from your birth time,(corrected to greenwich UT), and add it on to the Sidereal Time of your birth day. Since you already live in the UT time zone, there is nothing to change. 11:15 AM = 11.25 hours X 9.856 seconds per hour = 110.88 " or :01:51. Add this on to the sidereal time of your birth date.

Sidereal Time 6/22/70........ 17:59:03
increment =....................00:01:51
MSn =..........................l8:00:54 6/22/70
The natal MSn is a permanent value to be written on your birth chart somewhere.
The next post shows what to do with the MSn

I wanted to see if the columns of numbers would transfer on to the permanent post, but apparently they will not.

Next is to find the Sidereal Time of the day that you want to progress your chart to. For the sake of example, I will choose midnight 12/12/02.

ST of 12/12/02=........ 05:22:02 2002
subtract your MSn.....- l8:00:54 1970
diffrence=..............11:21:08 _ 3l- years or days. Do not forget to borrow 24 hours from 2002 which makes the correct ST for 12/12, 29:22:02, and borrow 60 seconds from the 22 minutes to build up the 02 to 62 seconds. This gives 29:21:62 at 2001. Also remember that we are not dealing with clock time, but rather Sidereal Time or the earth's orbit expressed in 24 hours.

The 11:21:08 + 31 days is called your "astrological age" as of midnight 12/12/02
