Like everyone here I use astro.com for calculating horoscopes...Now I'm wondering about how precisce their calculations are. For instance, there my ASC according to astro.com is 12'47, while another horoscope I have says 11'49. I manually calculated my horoscope a hundred years ago and using the Rosicrucian Fellowships' table of houses got my Asc at 11.39. I manually calculated my son's horoscope and got his asc at 19'05 while at astro.com it's at 18'25. Does any of you have any comments about this?

I just have to add that the nodes given by astro.com are at 07'58 while my ephemeris says 06'40...quite a big difference.IP: Logged |

In my case it is very correct. I had my calculations done by an astrologer many years ago, then when I learned some astrology, I calculated it myself with the results being the same, then when I attended an astrology course, the calculations were the same, and now at astro.com they are also the same. Sorry for not being very helpful. , morgana IP: Logged |

*sigh* my problemo is my time of birth- my mom told me it was 11:30pm but then I asked her to be sure and she said it might have been closer to midnight, she just knows it was right before midnight. I don't agree with my chart completely (by astro.com) at 11:30 although Lanny (fellow knowflake) did one for me that seemed mighty accurate. I wonder if I was born at 11:45 or even 11:50. I am still learning too much about myself to know for sure, oh that is my moon, or that is my asc. I only know for sure inside and out I am good luck Stella ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

Fajita - don't you have a birth certificate lying around somewhere?or failing that contact the hospital you were born at, they'll have the birth on record IP: Logged |

I think there's a mistake on the site because the results are different than the references in one of linda's books, I use her book to find out where my planets are, I think it's better IP: Logged |

Fajita, I have the same problem. Mom doesn`t know if I was born at 5:36 or 5:40... not much of a time dif, but it means either cappy or sag to match up to my Aquarius sun sign. My time isn`t on my certificate so I get to be whichever I wanna be that day a fellow juniperb IP: Logged |

I usually use Astro.com and the Placidus house system. Carlo, I gave the Alabe one a try and the Ascendant is only 1 degree different(same house etc) but it really changes the houses(probably more like Koch)of my Scorpio moon into the 11th house and it puts my North node in Pisces into the 3rd house. I think this makes quite a bit of difference in the placement and their meanings. I agree that the info and the chart wheel are quite nicely done. So, which one do we use?? I believe Linda Goodman used and preferred the equal chart. This one on Alabe is definitely not the equal as I have huge differences in the size of my houses.IP: Logged |
