Hi!

I'd just like to know how progression works in our charts. For example, my natal Sun is in Cancer and it has long ago progressed into Leo. Does that mean that I'm more of a Leo now? I can't tell because my natal Ascendant is also in Leo. The progressed one is in Virgo.

Does anyone know how this works?

Hey thanks, Carlo!

For me the Sun day is already over (I'm 6 to 8 hours ahead of the US, here it's night already), but it sure was a SUNny day!

These first two days read almost like my natal chart, haha, but I had my emotional whirlwind on Friday already...

Hi Morgana
I've only recently started to look at progressed charts - so I probably won't explain it correctly.......

Here's my own understanding of that compared to your natal chart.
Your natal chart is you - that will never change. (By that I mean your basis character). I guess you could say your progressed chart is how you progress in life, the lessons you learn etc. What type of things are currently going on in your life etc.

By way of an example....
In my natal chart....I have Virgo Sun, Virgo Asc, Virgo Mercury, Virgo Venus, Sagittarius Moon. (yes I know re all the Virgo )
Anyway just a few examples....

In my progressed chart, I currently have....
Still Virgo Venus (don't think that ever going to move.....) My ascendant is now Libra AND my Sun, Moon and Mercury all in Scorpio (bite me )

Ok so here's the difference in me.....
I now can talk about and deal with my emotions much better (all that water and Pluto - transformation). I am also not quite the "pushover" I used to be. Plus things are moving out of my 12th house........cept Venus.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz
So I'm not as "hidden" as I used to be.

However, if I feel threatened/uncomfortable...I do hide back in my natal chart again. Like I say, that's always going to be with you - your basic character.

Am I anywhere making any sense here, as I'm thinking and typing at the same time...lol

Thank you so much, Cat, I mean Sue

This really makes sense. When I read your post, I realized that I am also much less shy and more assertive and determined than I used to be, but unfortunately my Sun and Venus moved into my 12th house, so... Hey, I just realized why I've been so "hidden" these last years!!

But I just can't pinpoint what exactly is the progression and what is my natal position, you see, because my natal one is Cancer-Leo, and the progressed one is Leo-Virgo, again a very similar position regarding the difference between the Asc. and the Sun. If I had something like Libra-Pisces, or even Aries-Sagittarius, I'd probably feel it more, or... ?

Which puzzles me is the Moon which is obviously moving so quickly, so is it that every few months or so you change your emotional viewpoint or way of expressing yourself emotionally?

Sorry for asking so many questions, it's just that I recently started playing with progressed charts in my astrological program and started to wonder about these things...

Thanks again, Sue!

Hi Morgana
Glad I made some kind of sense. This is just a quick post as I have some things I really have to do.....so I'll give your questions some thought and get back to you.

Hi Quinnie
One word answer....ok make it 2 words....Yes Very! I haven't got time to explain now but when I looked at my progressed chart and transits at that time (both past and present) it spooked me!!!!

Quick example: for just my progressed chart (excluding transits for now as I would need to look them up). I began my relationship with my ex when my progressed Moon was then in my 7th house......big indicator of starting a new relationship!
I'll have to re-look at my progressed chart for that date as I now can't remember all the details. But do look at your progressed chart (and transits to it) for the times that certain memorable things happened to you. I think you'll find it very interesting
Sue

PS: If you're looking at progressed charts re a relationship...don't forget to look at the progressed chart of your partner. That also is very interesting.....
eg: Back to my relationship with my ex (not had another one since so nothing else to compare it to at the moment)...his Sun had progressed into Pisces...which is my natal charts 7th house....
Well it's all quite complicated stuff but very once you get "to grips with it".

Thanks Poops
Yes the ex situation is very yucky.....

Re progressions.....actually my situation is very interesting.
My ex has quite a bit of Scorpio in his natal chart.....My progressed chart now having progressed Sun, Moon & Mercury in Scorpio (which I now interpet as my "OK bring it on aspects" is actually helping me to stand up to him.....that's astrologically kind of interesting

Astrology never ceases to amaze me

Hi everyone!

Thanks for replying!

Cat,
I'll do that - look at the transits to my progressed chart(s) and see what I'll come up with...
I'd just like to give you some support now: hang on!!! I had a legal battle with my father, no less, and it was very painful and yucky too, so I know how you feel.

Quinnie, Poops, Fajita, hi!

If anyone does that transits to progressed chart thing, please let me know how it worked out!
