I found this interesting link while trying to learn more about a friend who is a very untypical Aries with a Capricorn moon. This is not a political statement; Al Gore just happened to have the same astrological placement! Anyway, I found this very interesting...especially since I usually feel a very strong power struggle going on between my own moon and sun signs (Scorpio vs. Leo).

oh yes, been reading something along these lines, too, in a book titled 'intro to classical astro' by ...forgot the author...anyway, it's interesting the way he explained it. and i found it to be very logical and enlightening. in a nutshell, he says, we are not automatically our sun sign. we 'become' it. by 'chasing' or choosing activities that bring it out. like when we go hiking or traveling (sag), shopping for lovely items and trying to dress nice(libra), reading mystery novels (scorp), gardening (tau), etc. the moon, on the other hand, is what we actually are more of, according to him. since it is the receptacle of emotions and memories, its power is stronger in that it colors our experience and perception of things. my analogy would be like taking an exam and knowing the answers to put down already as we've put in some late nights preparing for it. so, he says, when we meet new circumstances, we respond with our sun but once we have a frame of reference already for something, the moon takes over the assimilation process...logical, ain't? That's a little harboring. My current love interest (as in I'm crushing over him) is also a Sun Pisces like myself.. on the other hand my Moon is Pisces and his is in Gemini. Yes, what about the ascendant? I do have a Gemini Ascendant while his is Leo.

it makes sense that a Sun sign is what u become if u look at it from the perspective of the soul who comes to Earth to live the earth lessons of a particular sun sign...
So Myself being a Libran, my soul comes to learn the language of Libra and as i become fluent in this language it becomes me, I become Libran... perhaps the soul then is represented by the Moon sign; your soul being what u have become before... and the ascendant then is how u express what u have become and what u will become, linking the Sun- goal(major exam)-future, to the Moon-past (passed exam)-soul, to the first breath-ascendant- (student)present.
But maybe thats a little too abrasive, it's gotta be more complicated right?IP: Logged |

err, i've done a bit of editing of my last line in my first response, as i reread the author's work.hey, hey, quinnie, you're on to something there when you suppose the moon is the soul and tis interesting how you brought up the ascendant's role. ... did you guys know that the ascendant is ascribed as the future path of the soul in ESOTERIC astrology? yep! not the moon or sun but the ascendant.

anyway, i've digressed.
