HI All, Here is some information on planets in retrograde as they relate to your natal chart. I asked about this some time ago and Carlo pointed me towards a few excellent books by an author by the last name of Shulman. You can check out Amazon.com or your local bookstore. (I have Saturn in Retrograde) Here are some links that I found as well: http://www.astralaspects.com/retrograde.htm Here is a little blurb from another site: Mercury: If Mercury retrograde is in your chart, your tongue is likely to get you into trouble or you may be afraid to speak your mind for fear of the consequences. There may be an issue with intellect or intelligence. You may find your self-expression is "heard" through other forms rather than verbal or written. Venus: If Venus is retrograde in your chart, you may have some relationship issues to overcome. Oftentimes you feel too inhibited to seek what you really want and you withdraw from your partner. You find it hard to get exactly what you need from the people who are close to you. Some of this influence that applies to emotional matters also applies to money matters: You never quite feel that you have enough in your pockets. Self-worth becomes a large issue for you in your lifetime. Mars: If you have Mars in retrograde in your chart you may find that you have difficulty in asserting yourself. Timidity, lack of direction and other self-imposed emotional obstacles hold you back from realizing your dreams. Often you rely on others to fight your battles; too often you feel you are being used as someone else's doormat. You may find others around you to be particularly aggressive during the period when Mars is in retrograde. Jupiter: If Jupiter's retrograde is in your chart, you are likely to be the type of person who is always searching for ethics and values. You constantly seek truth and deeper meaning in life but rarely reach a stage of understanding. Ritual becomes a chore and you feel uneasy in your skin as you follow in blind faith. Oftentimes you jump onto the current intellectual bandwagon only to be disappointed in the end. You suffer from feeling the cold lack of spiritual fulfillment or you feel tugged at by the constant demands of your spirituality or philosophy. You strive to find the right spiritual balance. Saturn: If Saturn is in retrograde in your chart, it's likely that you are constantly in conflict with authority. Either you feel persecuted by those who work above you or you are a person currently mismanaging your power position. Setting limitations and learning the levels to which others may be pushed are matters with which you must take issue. You are afraid of the risk needed to address the powers that be, but the rewards will be great if you can learn to gain more control in this part of your life. Patience will also be a lesson. Uranus: Uranus retrograde may set your wild side free or it could make a notoriously outgoing person uncharacteristically shy. Straight-laced school marms may suddenly be dancing on top of pianos and effervescent party types may suddenly feel more comfortable, calmly relaxing in a hot bath. Explosions in your personality are not uncommon; you may behave differently than other people perceive you. Neptune: If the retrograde of Neptune is in your chart, you are likely involved in a serious escape fantasy into a dream world. No one really knows what goes on behind your eyes and though you may be sitting at a desk in an office, you're probably dancing ballet or hunting wolverines in your mind. The position of this planet can make some people more inhibited and unable to realize their dreams. Alternatively, some can be plunged into a dream world from which they can't resurface. This dream world may include drug or alcohol abuse, constant escapism, running away or absolutely shutting out reality. Neptune: With Pluto in retrograde in your birth chart, it's all an issue of control. Depending on the circumstances, you may find yourself in the grip of someone else's whim, feeling taken advantage of or manipulated. On the other end of the spectrum, you could be the person in the throne using your own power to destroy others and, ultimately, yourself and your world. Either way, the abuse of power is a very large issue for people born with a Pluto retrograde in their chart. http://karma.astrology.com/retrogrades.html I hope this helps. Pidaua IP: Logged |

Wow. I only have three retrogrades - how sad sack, just can't compete in this crowd! But as a Merc Rx, who lives with a partner with Merc Rx, I know we take an idea or piece of information and turn it over and over and over in our heads, when a "direct" Merc does not. This process adds whole levels of intensity to the final communication -- sometimes major body language. And while some of the mental gyrations may not be necessary, they often result in unusual connections! Kind of like a little kid who goes to the seaside, looks for shells and rocks, then examines them over and over. Lunargirl IP: Logged |

Somewhere in this forum I posted links awhile back regarding retrograde planets and the meanings. I'll have to go find it. The meanings that Pidaua posted dont fit me too well, I don't know about you N_wEvil. .......It's no big deal. I've heard that you are internalizing the energy of the planet and it's true meaning. At some point by progression the planets will go direct and that means you are now expressingly them outwardly. So check your progressions too. I have Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto retrograde. Mars retrograde timid and lacking in assertion??? From my posts on the other forum does it look like I am timid in the least? LOL I'll try to find the link for you N_wEvil. IP: Logged |

Cool links!!! Yeah, I thought that the retro blurbs weren't as complete as they should and they are somewhat negative. My friend with the Neptune retro is not someone that likes to escape into his own mind or through artificial means, so there goes that theory!! The books I have are much more indepth and really go into the Karmic implications / meanings of retrogrades. For myself, I do see a lot of the Saturn Retro in my life. My problem with authority has been around since I was a kid, but I was never totally rebellious. I just questioned everything and offended some of the higher ups on the way. Call it the authority chip on one shoulder with the "foot in mouth" syndrome suffered....by us Archers!!! LOL NW, I think that you are very well spoken and have always offered some important contribution to the topic.....sometimes even to just spark some controversy..like any good Uranus ruled dude would!! Is it me, since I am always kind of a kid at heart, or does anyone else kind of giggle when saying "Uranus". I do, especially when I talk of how Uranus opposes my Moon.
Sorry, it's Friday...just weirding out over here! IP: Logged |

LOL Pidaua......I often say it the wrong way just for sh*ts and giggles. You and I were born in the same year so I have that opposition too.

LOL.....me too Alena.. My Leo honey and I laugh about it all the time since my Moon opposes his Uranus too!!!Since we are both suffering from the Uranus - Moon syndrome can we just say earnestly: "Uranus made me do it?"...to help get that foot out of our mouths? Seriously though, do you find that you also suffer from bouts of freedom verus emotion? Almost like there is this emotional / romantic part of you that is sometimes held back by the more independant freedom seeking part? I wonder if having your Sun / Taurus and Libra Uranus under the same ruler (Venus) helps temper the strain of the opposition? What is your Venus in? Mine is in Sag, so I am a bit of a freedom freak. I kind of laugh about and say that I have a pathological attachment to my freedom. Do you ever watch Sat. Night live? You know the skit where Mike Myers is the kid with the helmet and harness tethered to the monkey bars? He eats chocolate and then breaks the whole monkey bar thing free and is running down the street with it trailing behind him? LOL....I see myself like that, where Uranus is the Chocolate and my Moon is the monkey bars. LOL Not all the time, just sometimes. NOW...I hav Uranus (Pisces) sitting right on top of my Pisces Mars. Blaming Uranus for foot in mouth syndrome sounds good to me especially since I have it in the 3rd house Yeah I understand the whole freedom/emotion thing. I wish I could say I'm tempered by the Taurus Sun etc but no, I'm not. My Venus is in Aries conjunct my Moon and I've got Mars in Sag so I'm a bit of a freedom freak myself. Naturally I married a Saggie freedom freak too. LOL Uranus is on your Mars? Oh boy, all I can say is good luck IP: Logged |

Wow Alena!! So you are pretty much a Fire Girl, even though you have a Taurus Sun. I think it's great that you married a Sag!! You totally understand him and he sounds like he understands your fire too!! My honey has his Mars in Sag as well. Do you and your hubby notice the "fireworks". They say that when one partners Mars conjuncts the others Sun, it makes for some major "sexual" sparks. I've notice it...let me tell you.. (I'm totally blushing just thinking about it!). His Mars also conjuncts my Venus while his Venus in Gemini opposes my Sun and Ven (lots of sparks). Yeah, Uranus is really bugging me at this point, but I am taking it in stride. LOL...It's gonna be that way for a year or so! IP: Logged |
