i have a question... today i went into a metaphysical bookstore to pick up a book i had on hold, and i came across 2 books by stephen arroyo (astrologer).. anyway, it's so weird, cuz the name is SO farmiliar, yet i have no idea if i've read any of his stuff or if he's any good. what do you think of his work? the cover art was beautiful.. so maybe that says something..

He is a great astrology auther, in my opinion. Unfortunely some of his books are not easy to read, but I recommend his 4 element one highly.

Ooh, WPS! Stephen Arroyo's books are on my most-wanted list even though I've never actually seen one in person. I read "Relating" by Liz Greene (an astrological author with a psychological approach like Arroyo) and she recommended Arroyo's "Astrology and the Four Elements" books in her recommended reading section. If you are interested in a psychological approach to a natal chart I would say go for it, especially if you picked up the books and liked the way they felt (psychically, that is). From what I've read, "Astrology, Karma, and Transformation" is his definitive work. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Heather (divinia)

P.S. I am a sucker for beautiful artwork as well. Must be my 2nd house Venus!

yay! i'm glad i went with my intuition and bought them.. even tho i couldn't really afford it.. (oh well, a shower curtain can wait! ) those are the two books; 'astrology, psychology and the four elements' and 'astrology, karma and transformation'.. i also picked up 'aspects and houses in analysis' by noel tyl (i really enjoyed one of his recent books.. the name of which eludes me now)..

anyway, his name is sososo farmiliar, not just in a "oh yeah, that guy" sense, either.. i find it so odd that i can't remember how i know him.. i don't think i've ever read anything by him. hmm.

anyway, i'm very glad! i've been skimming them, and they are both very intruiging. full with theory!!

thanks! and, divina, you will find your copies soon! just keep wishing!

OH i am LOVING this book.. (astrology, karma and transformation)!!! like seriously, if you haven't read it (whoever you are), you really should! i don't think i've felt this way about a book in a long while. i've only read two chapters (the first and the last) but there's something about how he writes that is so soothing and rich with peace and understanding.. and, of course, what he writes echoes this. i REALLY enjoyed the intro too.. i swear, reading this has clicked something on in me that i forgot existed, a belief in the true inherent wonderfulness of existence..

Dear Weird Purple Sparkles:

I'm so glad you wrote back with your impressions! I haven't had a book fill me with the joy of living in quite a while either. I'll definitely have to check it out! Thanks!

Sincerely,
Heather (divinia)

i like arroyo bt he tends to be very brief and categorical which is good because with astrology u never know enough....... so his insights are very to the point and clear, i very much enjoyed "how to interpret the natal chart"

I love Arroyo`s books.

Especially the one about synastry (forgot the title) is just great. It gave me a feeling of electricity just reading it, almost like the feeling of falling in love - a little bit. After reading some of his books, I got a much clearer understanding on how the astrological symbolism of signs, planets and houses work.

I also love his use of the planetary rulers; this theory really left me speechless.

I have a very fire-oriented horoscope: Sun, Mercury, Mars and ASC in Sagittarius, so I never understood why on earth I also could feel some strong water (especially Pisces) influence.

Well, it turns out, that the ruler of my Sun, Mercury, Mars and ASC is in Pisces, while the ruler of my Venus and Moon are in Cancer and SCorpio.
So, to me the theory of looking at the rulers of planets makes a lot of sense.

I've read both of those books, am I right in remembering he is one of the astrologers who uses astrology of the soul, that is Pluto in the charts and the nodes?

The way he explained the elements just made me think 'ahhh now I get it' Amazing. It's not so much the orb or aspect he would consider it's more about the basic element and the ENERGY it creates. Gets right down to the basics
you will love!
