Okay peeps,

How many of you identify with your the description of your moon in a specific house? For me, I have a hard time with being told that since I have my moon in the 7th house that I am more inclined to be clingy, dependent and in need of a love relationship. The opposite is actually the case. I have never needed a relationship or partner to be "fulfilled". In fact, I used to laugh at my friends that HAD to have a partner to feel validated.

So, what is the general consensus here? I do think that part of my independance may be due to the Sag Sun / Venus, but may be more attributed to my Moon opposition Uranus. Theories?

Here is a brief description of the moon in different houses:
*Moon in 1st House

You are a kind, mothering spirit who people readily come to for nurturing and care. Your emotions are right on the surface. The Moon's position and phase at any time will have an affect on your disposition. You may have a round, moonlike face with either a big smile or a somewhat discontented look, depending on your very changeable mood.

*Moon in 2nd House

You feel safe and secure as long as you are financially stable and have plenty of food / resources on hand. You are nurtured by your possessions. You may collect things that come from water or the sea. You are protective of your possessions and very sentimental.

*Moon in 3rd House

You are receptive to the feelings of others, and freely share your own emotions. You are a defender and protector of family and community. You like to shine in your community.

*Moon in 4th House

The Moon rules this house...You are deeply connected with the past, your mother or other caretaker, your family and your subconscious mind. You can get lost in memories. Your home is a safe haven - a refuge. You may be very moody, and strongly affected by lunar phases.

*Moon in 5th House

You are emotional and protective in recreational activities, childrearing and other creative pursuits. You nurture others by participating in fun or creative activities with them. You feel safe and nurtured among creative, fun-loving people and children.

*Moon in 6th House

You have the ability to nurture and mother yourself and others, particularly when it comes to health, diet and hygiene. You are very particular about foods, wanting only the best and most nutritious.

*Moon in 7th House

In close relationships you are warm, charming, nurturing and kind. You enjoy pampering and being pampered. You feel lost and alone without a love partner. You need to feel warmth and security from your mate. You may be extra protective and/or clingy.

*Moon in 8th House

You are emotional and protective in sexual relationships. You may tend to mother your partner. You are intense, loyal, and possibly very jealous. You need financial security to feel nurtured and safe.

*Moon in 9th House

You have an understanding and sympathy for other lands and cultures. You feel drawn to learn more about the world and understand it as a whole. You are protective toward animals.

*Moon in 10th House

You want to shine in your chosen profession, and be recognized and appreciated. You are emotionally involved with your work. You may take on a mothering role - providing a sense of security for your associates.

*Moon in 11th House

You are very protective of friends and groups you are associated with. You have an emotional need to contribute your nurturing qualities to society in some way. You have an interest in networking with others, new age ideas, and helping to create a world without prejudice.

*Moon in 12th House

You are extremely empathetic and sensitive emotionally. You may feel lost - overwhelmed by the drama of humanity all around you. You need to retreat periodically - disconnect from the world and allow yourself to be alone with your feelings.

Hey Ms. Pidaua:

I'm a 12th house moon. However, I can relate to it.

Why don't you go to the Free course section. Questions like this would help discussion there.

I also have a 7th House Moon and although I can function very well without a relationship in my life (like right now), I am aware that having a relationship in my life would be very nice.

My 2 cents

Interesting. I have a 2nd house moon, and whenever I'm feeling like I'm "in trouble" financially, I tend to have nightmares. Weird, hey?

my house totally suits me.. taurus in the fourth. however, my moon is very badly aspected, so the stuff with being attached to my mom is only partway true, and more in the sense that there is a great big hole where she never has been. it's funny, cuz i really have no family-roots (i'm very much the black sheep, and have no one i'm close to or who knows me in my family), yet i'm *such* a family oriented person.. maybe that's why i have two little ones already, and i'm only 24..

Hi All,

Thanks for your responses. Sorry it took me so long. I had a shareholders meeting that took all of Thursday and was off on Friday. Now I am in So. Cal on business and wanted to check in.

Lanny, thanks for the advice. I should look into the course. I know that I started to, but then got too busy. I'll check it out.

I have my moon in the 3rd, and I wouldn't say it's a very accurate description of me. I am pretty open, most of the time. But I don;t knwo about that community part.

I have moon in Scorpio in the 11th conjunct Neptune. I definitely have a desire to contribute to society and an interest in new age ideas. I would love to create a world without prejudice, however I am definitely a loner and not one to get involved with groups (Lindaland is the exception.) It could be both the Scorpio and Neptune influences on my moon that give me the desire to withdraw from society. I am really uncomfortable in groups of people.

4th House moon in Cancer, with many aspects. I'm adopted - what can I say, the above description fits my situation completely, but with so many cardinal influences in my chart, it doesn't dominate in any morbid sense.

EXCEPT that due to my free will and choices I've dealt with my issues and so the past has a far weaker hold on me than it used to.

See you in the Free Astrology course...
