Hi to all

Well with alot of procrastination I am 90% sure that I'm going to sign up for a course in councelling.

With years of pondering about what to do for a career and after been made aware of this course that can be done from home via the internet and is fully accredited, I am hoping to sign up on the 1st of July.

My question is basically to confirm weather my astrology chart supports this move, as it is quite expensive and involves probably a two year commitment.

Also, now that us Saggi's have Saturn just moving into our 8th house, I would presume this would be a good time to start, but correct me if this is wrong.

Natally, I have Virgo on my MC, as well as Pluto in my 10th house. My Saggi sun (1st house ) and rising both make a trine to my MC, but my Scorp moon and Neptune, both in the 12th square my MC. I also have Chiron (Pisces,4th house )that has an aspect to my MC that I don't understand....it resembles an upside down letter "k"

Can anyone make any sense from all that, as my career indecisions seem to be my biggest frustrations in life, but as my kids are getting older, I've decided that it is time to stop procrastinating and really decide once and for all to move ahead with something that can give me satisfaction personally, as well as a stable sort of income for the future...........so what do you all think???

Feel free to offer your opinions, I look forward to any advice you all have to offer

Thanks!

Which planet is closest to your MC? Where is your North Node (True Node)?
Counseling and Therapy is great for a Sag. Teaching too. With a Scorp moon I was thinking real estate.

I think Saggies make good counsellors. I know they are supposed to make good coaches so that would seem to include coaching people on good ways to lead their lives. I am a Sag too and I studied counselling and psychology in college. Never got a job doing it though, but that's another story.

Hallo Poops

Was it you, as I am trying to recall, who also wanted to open an Occult bookshop?

Now that I think of it, methinks it is so. Memory is a funny thing, I now remember your Moon in Scorpio.

Have you asked Galen?

Aphrodite, that is one of my dreams as well...

Seriously, it's not like there enough of them around, you know.

I just love the idea, of any small individual business, even if the economy looks grim.

poops, I think the best thing to do is look at your inner motivations for wanting to be a counsellor, look at where you are coming from, not where you are going. If it's what you really want to do you will be happy with the work and others will admire your passion for it.

Pluto does mean helping people, counsellor, teacher, therapist, psychologist, working with children, financial counseling (pluto rules scorpio other people's resources), you would write a book, help others with their finances.

Pluto is right on my MC too but I am an artist, however I do help a lot of other artists become successful financially, and work through their anger and emotions. We are interdependent.

Pluto also rules renovating, renovatings homes, furniture, clothing, destroying the old and building the new.

With a Scorpio moon you must be pretty hard driving.

Any of this help?

Poops, is your rising Sag? how is that trine to Virgo MC? Is your Neptune in Scorp or Sag? Chiron Pisces is what JFK had, serving others in an organized way, and 4th house could mean you had to take care of your own "house" before serving others (counselling). North Node in Aries, 5th house would make a great teacher or counsellor, I know someone with this aspect and he is a natural at helping others.

Hi again

Mutablefire,
Thank-You for your input

Aphrodite,
Yes,Yes,Yes, it was me who wanted to open an Occult Bookshop. Unfortunately, this dream of mine is still on the backburner due to a lack of funds and some other hiccups. One day........

A while back I did pose a question to Galen, but I honestly don't recall what I even asked him now Willing to trade memories with you at anytime! Would you please send me the link to him again?
Yes, another Scorp moon here!

Thanks

Starlover,
After alot of research, I have worked out that 40 to 50 thousand dollars would be needed to actually have this kind of business operational. Shop rental prices are another shocker

So, for me, unless some white night decides to plant a few thousand in my bank account, it's just not possible, for now, anyway.
In time, hopefully!

Natasha,

I have always attracted troubled, grieving or just people who need a sympathetic ear to listen to their troubles, so I councelled friends and family for years. I once read that my Scorp placements enable a person to be a catalyst for change towards others. I could definately relate to this.

Renovating homes and gardens is another passion mainly on our own house and garden, as we have a couple of acres, so that most certainly rang true. This is definately something else that I love to do.

Yes Natasha, I have Sag Rising. Sorry, you are right, it is my Sag sun and my Merc in Cappy in the 1st house that both trine my MC. My Neptune is in Scorp, 12 house.

Thanks for your help....

Interesting, that's the same amount of money I thought myself.

Yah, I know it's definitley a far-off dream especially with the knowledge that small businesses hardly work out nowadays. So I know not to put my head entirely in the clouds, you know.

And you would think, that a little area at the mall would be nice, but it's not, it's just as worse.

But I always think that if RA is on your side, he will make it so that you can do anything, without money to worry about. I hate worrying about how much something will cost, it's a real pain in the butt.

But I must admit, I can be a bit of penny pincher myself, it comes from my Cancer Rising.

So Poops, did you have a nice building planned out? I always imagine in my dreams.

Poops, I have a Sag rising too so I know it's good to help people as long as you find yourself along the way.

12th house Neptune and Pluto on the MC is very good renovating homes, that could be a side venture, fixing up homes or renovating. You could refinish antique furniture too. I have this placement and am obsessed with with antique hardware (door knobs, handles, photo frames).

ScorpMoon is an amazing position for a healer/counselor. I was just talking about one I know who's a GemSun ScorpMoon, and he also counselled family and friends for years before getting a Master's degree in Social Work so he could get paid for that kind of work! He is uncanny at picking out the thorn in the paw, so to speak. That penetrating Scorp intuition combined with all that Fire intuition you have should help you to help others, in my humble opinion-- but keep an eye on all your Sag, and that _very_ interesting Aries North Node in the 5th House -- you might do best with a kind of teaching environment involving children, or you might one day find yourself 'teaching' via radio and tv appearances!!

I think your 90% is worth at least 110%, so go for it!

Starlover,

I have exactly the same thoughts regarding money and in actual fact, I do tend to be way too unrealistic when it comes to money, it's just that I refuse to worry about it.....I leave that to my hubby, with his moon in Virgo!

Oh yeah, I have the most beautiful shop set up in my imagination. It is well and truly alive in my head and dreams!

Natasha,

OK, so it's the Saggi in me that enjoys helping others? The Astrology interest in my life has definately helped me to find my good and not so good traits, but the self-awareness is very helpful, I agree.

It's funny Natasha, but I love nothing more than garage sales, antique shops, trash & treasure markets etc, and I constantly check out my dads garage for anything "old" that I can bring back to life.Renewing gardens and furniture gives me a great feeling of achievement....I really enjoy that kind of thing.

Lunagirl,

I checked with my mum and Aunty today and they both thought that councelling would be perfect for me, so it is good to have all of these opinions.

Aries North Node certainly sounds interesting, although I couldn't imagine myself being confident enough for radio or T.V work....but, stranger things have happened, I suppose!

Thanks everyone for all of your input, I've really enjoyed your opinions!

Hey Poops! We have the same birthday!
December 18, 1980!

heheheh

And I have the same problem as you I can't make up my mind on my career choice. I've been going to school for 2 years and I am majoring in Architecture Design. I like it and all but I am not quite sure it that is the best choice for me. Does anyone out there know if Sag's make good Architects???

Somewhere in this string of incredibly interesting posts, I happened on something... someone mentioned asking "Galen" a question. Just as a loooong shot, would that be the same Galen (back in the day "hostANGalen") who did readings in the Astronet section of AOL? If so... somebody tell her that good 'ol Tabookey sends his warmest regards. If it is someone else completely... what the heck, send them my regards anyways. Who knows what kind of friend I may find here.
