Compared to human intuitive experience based predictions how relevant are they? Your opinions? I have not used any such software. I have used one that calculates horoscopes but not "predicts". Would computers replace Professional astrologers?

hi raj

imhEMPHATICo absolutely not. computers will never replace a real humans 'feel' in interpretations of a chart. they are just too damn general. two people can have a moon conjunct venus, but the effects are very different if the sign with the conjuncts are aries, or aquarius. not to mention the houses, and other aspects, etc. perhaps one day they might be able to have a program that would interpret all the aspects and placings with every single combination... but i feel that would be a long time off because the amount of data would be staggering. every person is so inherently unique, and theres nothing better than a real human to pull it all together. a computer cannot see the forest for the trees, in many cases. i know that the computer charts of mine have been very general, somewhat correct, but never have they had the amount of correct and precise information that human astrologers have had with me personally.

every planet, every house, and every aspect will make an impact on every other planet house and aspect. its truly an art as well as a science, you have to pull it all together, and intuition has been a strength with me personally, in doing charts.

i also feel that computerized charts are only as good as the information that is put into them, and even many humans dont have a real insight into astrology. i am still in shock about carolyn reynolds, for instance, her interpretations are at best uninspired, at worst offensive. astrology is a fairly unregulated discipline and you can only give as good as you get. sometimes you dont get the best instruction/interpretation out there. thats why i go to all different sources for my learning of this craft, and i make my own choice on what makes sense to me.

its like my grand trine. so many books i read said that grand trines were these wonderful amazing things that one would be blessed to have. well, with mine having venus in virgo (fall of venus) mars in capricorn (Rx) and saturn in taurus, it is hardly a blessing. its been the cross ive had to bear forever. these energies have been VERY difficult for me to work with in my life. thats just one general example of how contemporary astrology has been very distasteful to me. nothing is black and white, and it takes inspiration and the willingness to consider all possibilities to lead one to the real value of astrology.

thats my opinion, but its hardly an uninformed one.

A computer can't replace a professional astrologer because any intuition a system is designed with, no matter how well thought out, will only wind up being an extension of the intuition of the designer(s).

What Anafaery and NW said! Personally I consider astrology to be art based on scientific calculations, if that makes any sense.
