Hiya
I remember reading somewhere that it was a significant thing to have your ascendant or a planet at zero degrees...

Can anyone shed some light here for me please?? Its for a friend who has a 0'14" Aries Ascendant. Would that mean his ascendant is influenced by Pisces??

Thanx

hi nebel

personally i am of the school of thought that there are no 'cuspal' planet influences, that a person is either an aries or a pisces, not shades of both. saying that someone is an aries with pisces influences because of a cusp just muddies the water and makes it much harder to interpret. i know you said asc but i was generalizing with sun because its easier that way, i know you know what i mean.

if there are influences from a 'cuspal' sign, they will manifest in other areas of the chart, whether that be through other placings in that sign, or mutual reception and dispositors. a mutual reception is... ill give an example, as its easier that way. in my chart, the ruler of my libra sun, venus, is in virgo. the ruler of virgo, mercury, is in libra. those two planets have mutual reception. they are in each others natural rulership, and the energy they share is sympathetic to each other. had my mercury been in virgo or scorpio, it wouldnt be a mutual reception, and i daresay i would be even *more* complex of a person. the venus wouldnt harmonize as well with the rest of my chart makeup.

that said, with an asc its harder to really know the *exact* placing when one is so close to the cusp. it may well be that the birth time was a couple of minutes off, placing the asc into pisces. so, its very important for everyone, but especially in cases like that, to have the chart rectified. with such a small orb, if the birth time is even a couple of minutes off, youd likely see a big difference, especially since its the ascendant concerned. a proper asc is MOST important, as its placing determines the houses, the 'stage' if you will, for the rest of the players to interact. its of grand importance.

does that help at all?

hi nebel, i face a similar problem too
cos'my ascendent lies at 29degrees 10 minutes TAURUS but the area in GEMINI is very active since both mars and chiron r present conjunct my asc .
actually i consider myself more of a gemini rising than taurus rising.

What about moon sign cusps? If the moon moves into a new sign at 2:20am, but someone knows their birth time only to be "around 2:00am", what if they were born at 2:15am? I mean, how wide is the transition line? Is it very sudden, like stop-start, or does it take 10 minutes to fade out of one and into the other?
Does anyone even really know?
I'm trying to figure out if my sweetie has a Virgo moon, or a Libra moon. I'm hoping Libra, cuz that would trine mine, and sextile everything else. (except the outer planets)

lioneye i think its the same as any planet or asc... i dont think it takes time. its pretty instantanious in my experience. once its in the next sign, its in the next sign. read what i said to nebel up there, and insert 'moon' rather than 'asc'. thats what i think anyway.
