Topic: Mars Rx, contracts and advice

Well, I have some folks interested in some of my work, which is a great gift. But I've been a little worried about Mars Rx. Should one of them want to represent me, they'll also want a contract...and I don't want to sign anything until Mars is no longer retrograde.Mars is my ruling planet (I'm an Aries), and the transiting Mars Rx is also conjuncting my natal mars in the 7th house. So, I am vary wary, especially with Mercury also about to go Rx. How the heck to I tell a potentially powerful person in NYC that I can't sign anything till then end of September??  Assuming, of course, they will want to sign me!!

Hmmm, you may be able to tell them that you are very interested, but you need to seek counsel before you sign the contract. (That is so NYC anyway.....everything is all about getting the lawyer to check the contracts). So, let them know you need some time and then wait until after the Merc and Mars retro.They may not want to cooperate, as Mars is somewhat pushy and with it being in retro and Uranus so close to it, there may be some rash behavior. If you HAVE to sign it, look for a day when all other planets in a harmonious aspect. IP: Logged |

That's great news that you have some folks interested in some of your work  What kind of work do you do?I hear you re being worried about both Mars and Merc rx and signing stuff. I'm also in the middle of a potential business thing and the guy said he'll call me to get something started at the end of this month.....
So I instantly think......oh nooo Merc is retro can't sign anything then...but obviously can't tell him that as he'll think I'm "away with the fairies"  Anyway here's my thoughts. Merc is only retro for 3 weeks. Contact negotiations are never fast things so I'm going to work on negotiating but then not actually signing until Merc goes direct. Merc retro's on 29th August and goes direct on 20th Sept. Mars is direct on 27th Sept but I personally don't worry to much re signing a business contract while Mars is retro....I wouldn't start a relationship though  but if I can swing not signing anything before the 27th Sept then I will But at the end of the day...if I have to sign before hand then I will cos I reckon it's fate

Thank you kindly for the advice, pidaua and Cat, and for the kind wishes, juniperb!Cat, in answer to your question, among other things I'm a writer and this is in reference to my first book.
I hope your 'potential business thing' goes well, too! Much luck and light to you... I too am inclined to somehow coast through the Merc retrograde, and if I have to, I'll sign on the dotted line while Mars is still Rx...but I'm nervous! Hey...I just want to get signed! Thank you all again.

Good luck with your book Yes I agree with the trying to coast through Merc rex if that's at all possible....especially as books are forms of communication - which Mercury rules. But like you say if that ends up not being possible then you have to go with it. Contracts do take a while to be finalised though...especially when Merc is rex, so hopefully everything will work out fine.
