Hey Merc rex....well I see you're off to a good start Today's news in the UK....... Post Strike Looms as Talks Break Down TALKS aimed at averting a national strike by post workers were suspended following a failure to reach agreement in a dispute over pay. Royal Mail managers met for several hours with officials from the Communication Workers Union to try to head off the first national walk-out for seven years. But the two sides appeared further apart than ever and there is now a real threat that mail deliveries will be crippled next month. Ballot papers were sent out to 160,000 postal workers who will now vote on whether to take part in industrial action. IP: Logged |

Since I have natal Merc Rx, usually I'm pretty lucky during Merc Rx transits, but I was S.O.L. today!! Anyhow, I'm about to whinge, so either read on or skip to a less whiny post! My partner and I ordered a new mattress, boxspring and bed (splurge! the old stuff had "gone home"). Today was delivery day, and last night we took apart the bed, cleared out the bedroom, spring cleaned, and this morning we shimmied the old set into these big plastic bags, for them to take away. Complication: our inner stairwell up from the street is so narrow, that we informed the delivery people this week that they would probably have to use the back staircase (fire escape). Previous movers had used it to get the old boxspring in. It was in our dossier. Well the guys got here then REFUSED to use the back way! And it's a perfect day for it -- sunny, cool, dry. So after a long phonecall to the company, they are _supposed_ to call us Tuesday to arrange for delivery Thursday by their "Special team". But I'm just going to hang on to my sense of humour, because dear Merc Rx is wreaking havoc! I'm tempted to start a contest about how long it will really take! OY! Lunargirl IP: Logged |

Linda Goodman, who had natal Mercury Rx also, was not of the school of thought that natal Mercury Rx people skate through Mercury Rx periods, and I concur. I have yet to see them be extra lucky or fortunate, and I have observed several over the years. Oh, I have seen them say, "Oh I have it natally, so it's a time of great progress for me," yet it's not true, and I think more of a function of thinking that because Mercury Rx periods are generally sucky, that those born with it natally are somehow jinxed, so they may like to think that they are all good during those periods to compensate, which I have sensed it is with some Mercury-Rx-born, although maybe not such a psychological reason/excuse/wish with everyone. And some astrologers do contend that ya'll avoid the pitfalls of these periods, yet I cast my lot with Linda...Mercury Rx screws with everyone. This might be a good thread to post news items and personal anecdotes and snafus that occur during the period. I bet we'll have a great deal of stories by the end of September, and by the way, always add a couple days to the ephemeris date for Mercury going direct. The 20th is a Saturday, so give it until Tuesday anyway until you buy mechanical items and sign important documents. You want the planet back up to speed, not stationing or just inching forward at a slow rate immediately post-station. And always figure that Mercury goes Rx a couple-three days before the given time as well. Make that 3-week period a month, and you will be much better off. Be careful out there Bright Blessings, Carlo IP: Logged |

Interesting, Carlo.Could well be that a Merc Rx's wish for luck during a Merc Rx transit is a belief more than reality. I'll have to think on that, and talk to more Merc Rx's before switching camps. What is probably more accurate to state in my case, is that during Merc Rx transits, while many around me are experiencing muck-ups and frustration (say, a client whose computer problems threaten a deadline, etc., or friend or relative facing delays), I find I function well as a trouble-shooter. Maybe because I deal with Rx mental chaos so perpetually that I'm a good danger guide? Lunargirl IP: Logged |

This might be a good thread to post news items and personal anecdotes and snafus that occur during the period. Hi Sugarlips As you know, I called a cab 4 times yesterday. Only then to leave for the train station because nothing showed up. Then, a cab came to the front door of my house . . . 45 minutes late. I ran to it in my heels. Early in the week, mum calls on the phone screaming at me to cancel her payment plan to the funeral parlor because she thinks they cheated her by adding things on her list on purpose. I called the parlor and realized there was a misunderstanding between the two parties. My mom looked at the balance after her deposit had been deducted, thinking that her deposit would be deducted from the amount she was focused on. Now I got to call my mum tonight and tell her what her two options are. Pisces and Mercury Rx do not mix, especially on a Pisces Full Moon I am planning a birthday party next Sunday with my bestfriend's girlfriend. Lily (her gf) e-mailed asking if hearty finger foods and if guests could bring drinks was okay. I had to reveal to her that Gloria (super duper Virgo) has about 20 food restrictions she has given me. Scouring through all the cookbooks I have, I came up with 4 recipes. I also mentioned it would be best if guests brought nothing because they don't know what Gloria has restricted on the list. Lily is at right now. Love, Amy IP: Logged |

I thought I was skating thru it. But nooooo Today the power went out, ok fine. Things are back on.... out again. This time I had the c.d. player & washer running . Now my c.d.`s are stuck in the player & it`s screaming error at me. Won`t do a crapping thing. The washer just up & quit, won`t spin only wash & wash & wash... It`s bleach water and just panties & socks you ask? nooooo, it`s big towels & sheets I use for the four leggeds. Of course, my Cancer, the hi tech mechancial guy, who always saves my day, is late . I`m so *&*%$ed off. Argggg. juniperb IP: Logged |

Hi Sugarhips,Har de har har...my foster ruler f*cks with everyone! I have my share of stories too, yet with me, I plan well in advance for Mercury Rx periods, have for years. If you study an Rx period a few times, you find yourself rushing like hell in the two weeks prior to get as much done as possible, so you can coast as much as possible through the retrograde month. And if you buy anything mechanical during this time, do save your receipts Now Mercury Rx periods, as you may have heard, are good for all things beginning with the prefix "re". Sure, you've heard it before. So let's make a list of "re" things that can be done during these periods. I made a thorough list years ago, maybe you can see if you have any to add... Revisit Revise Review Repair Reinvent Replace Repeal Recall Relearn Relearn Reflect Remodel Readjust Reply Relive Relish Remain Renew Repay Repent! Report Repose Repossess Reprieve Rerun Rescind Return Research Reserve Retreat Restore Retire Retrace Retract Retrench Return Reunite Revere Reverse Revamp Revive Reword Reward Rewrite Rework Reask Realize and most importantly... can anyone guess?

Cool list! My second-favourite part is that the word relearn is in there twice -- for emphasis I guess! First favourite? Re-lax! But I'm going to add one more: respect, which in a sense, means to take a second look, paying attention, maybe seeing truly... quote: Re-spect. From Middle English, regard, from Old French, from Latin respectus, from past participle of respicere, to look back at, regard : re-, re- + specere, to look at; see spek- in Indo-European Roots.]

I like that, Relax Methinks Andy is saying nothing out of the ordinary is happening to him during Mercury Rx, and nobody gets it when he gets it. LOL. Hope I did okay with translating Aquarian signals. *Re-adjusts her tin foil antennae* IP: Logged |

Oh my dear Amy You take me so Literally!Of course I know That young Andy Was just being so His impish elf self: Intellectually randy Handing out Without a doubt Aquarian mind candy Yet back to the issue At hand...y... You are re-membering Every single thing And that's why you sing! Oh I hear it I try to steer it And oh do I cheer it For it's true I can see that you Do really re-member. And once Mercury goes Direct So much more you'll re-member Yet now, relax sweet girl Image the beauty in your world For this Fall You'll have it all Finding distant memories Will all flood back Washing you with peace Well before December. (You see, it's in the stars And surely hastened by Mars) I've checked your chart, I can see That coming soon, you will be free! Re-member? IP: Logged | |
