Hmm...

I recently met a man with a very busy first house-

Asc. 11 deg. Scorp.

Mars 19 deg. Scorp.
Merc.20 deg. Scorp.
Sun 3 deg. Sag.
Venus 8 deg. Sag.
Nept. 9 deg. Sag.
NN 10 deg. Sag.

The 2nd House starts at 10 deg. Sag.

-This is all with his exact birth time-

So my questin is...what is the significance of such a crowded 1st house? For some reason I wonder if Mars in the 1st could represent a bad temper? Maybe that's way off.

Anyway, I'd love to hear thoughts on this. I'm sure there are others here with busy 1st houses as well...

Boy oh boy, did he ever incarnate to express his personality and sELF!!

Makes my Mars, Sun and Jupiter in the 1st look downright puny!

Mars in the 1st can confer an excellent sense of opportunity -- good for entrepreneurship, quick to recognize and act on opportunity (business, social or other). Quick to passion, too, although since it's in Scorp, not quick to er, finish. Bad temper? More like quick temper. The two are different. If you're evolved, not a problem.

I'll bet when he does speak, it's well thought out, bitingly funny (ScorpMerc), and that he could teach or write up a storm -- journalist or teacher or speaker. Not somebody who goes "uuhhh..." very much!

WOW!! That's quite a chart! All in his house of personal image. Crazy, man! What's he like? I've heard that Venus in the 1st bestows one with a high level of physical attractiveness. Mars in the 1st can make one seem like an Aries...quickly inspired into action, competitive, brazen and fearless. The sun in the 1st can make one a bit self centered but also very charismatic, and so on. So, I would think a very busy 1st house like that could make someone very very self absorbed. That's just my opinion, I could be way out to lunch here.
But where did you meet him? What does he do? What's he like? He would be interesting specimen for Astrological study, in terms of character analysis.

SO funny you should say that lioneye, I quickly assumed he was an Aries moon when I met him. Lo and behold, he's also an Aries Moon! LOL

I met him at a party through a mutual friend (she happens to have NN, Jupiter, Saturn ,Venus, Sun, and merc. all in her 6th House!). Actually, I first met him a couple of years ago at a party, but we recently met again. The parties were all very open and fun, but we always ended up in side conversation. I don't know how to describe him. I don't have many Sag friends, so I thought it would be interesting to look at his chart. Around me he's mature and has great manners. Very bright and likes to play sports. I suspect that he probably has a quick temper (right on the dot, Lunargirl!).

My brother also has Mars in the first (in Aries!!) and he definitely has a quick temper. Boy, does he have a quick temper.

Lunargirl, yes, he's very sarcastic, pleasant and funny in his manner of speaking!

On a separate 1st House question, does anyone know anything about Pluto conj. Asc. in the 1st House? I found that two of the most prominent people in my life have this aspect.

Yikes, my neice has this aspect, squaring Mars in her midheaven, no less. Well, she's an absolute quintessential teenage terror! Her temper is so fierce and easily provoked that the whole familiy tip toes around her, lest they set her off into one of her tantrums, which by the way, easily become violent. She gave her dad a black eye a few months ago! She honestly comes across like a Scorpio, although she's doesn't have any planets in Scorpio at all. (*I think*) She's a Cancer/Leo cusp, but I can't remember any of her other placements right now. I'll check if anyone is interested to know.
On the other hand, she's brilliant, and a leader among her friends. (the phrase "Evil Genius" comes to mind)

Oops, I stand corrected, she has Libra rising, but Pluto in Scorpio in the 1st, squaring Mars in Leo in the 10th.

Yep, Mars in the first has a quick temper allright, me too, mars conjunct ascendant in sag, I've managed so far, Thank God.

People with strong first houses like a lot of attention focused on their self, on their image and body in a room. If you focus on this person all the time, make eye contact, it's very sexy.

So, Oxy what does Mr.Loaded 1st house do for a living? Is he a very well known person? I would think with so much going on in the first it may indicate celebrity in a chart...maybe?

Natasha, I love your insights! Making eye contact is hard for this spacey Aquarian. I usually shy away. But it's ok, we are platonic friends.

Lioneye, he's a manager of an IT department. Very outgoing guy. As Lunragirl said, very well-spoken. Never heard "Uhh" from his mouth. He dresses pretty low-key also.

Lioneye- Yikes (about your niece!) one of my best friends, a Taurus, is a Libra rising with Pluto cnj. her Ascendant. Sometimes it's good to tip-toe around her. lol but she and my ex of a couple of years who has the same placement both have very tantrum-like tempers. Not violent or lasting though. In fact, they're both pretty even-tempered for the most part. (She has Mars in Leo and he has Mars in Gemini)

Ahhh. Yeah. I think I've nailed the essence of someone with a busy 1st house like that. That would be someone who's a social chameleon. They would have so many personal styles, and different people would contact different planets, bringing them to the center stage. And all being in the mutable Sagittarius...man, I'll bet there's very few people who this guy doesn't click with. He would be an awesome salesman or politician or teacher or councilor, or really anything that requires interactions with different personalities, and "winning people over".

Yeah, but what's in his 7th House? Sounds like he could use some sandbags there.

SEVERAL sandbags. I guess his descendant would be Gemini, which would be a good mate for this guy. Someone who's always changing, and can meet him on any/all of his various levels of relating.
He would probably have a hard time being with just one person. Ya think?

"The sun in the 1st can make one a bit self centered but also very charismatic, and so on."

Lion: I have this placement. Then you wonder why I'm the way I am Along with moon and Uranus.

You know... I've met quite a few Aqua guys here lately (2)... I think that Scorps and Aquas get along pretty well. Even if we both think the other can be a wack job

First House relates to Aries, so a lot of planets in there will have that Arien expression.

My Gem partner has no Aries at all, but he has a tenanted 1st House that lends him that style of energy, although it's an Aqua house. I'm sure it helps us "get" one another! He certainly can rush around like a Ram!

Oxychick, that's what I was thinking too!

I want sandbags in my seventh house, will that make me more agreeable and dependable?

Natasha, I have Neptune (in Sag) in my 7th and Venus (in Cap) in my 7th. Nothing in my first. Perhaps I could use a sandbag there. Trade you?
