Could someone explain to me how the date of progression is arrived at? What makes that date significant? How does that date tie in with figureing out significant dates for marriage/long term relationships? Something about the progressed ascendant/descendant axis?IP: Logged |

Ok, this is what Bissie had to say about it in the "marriage indicators" thread. quote: yes, that is right - whenever your progressed ASC/DC axis is activated by either natal or progressed planets - a marriage or a strong relationship is a sure thing. Its so sure, that if you have your progressed ASC/DC activated and nothing goes on in your love life - then most likely your time of birth is incorrect. For the slow moving planets, like Uranus - the activation could be felt before or after the exact conjunction/aspect, like in your case a degree later. And the characteristic of the person entering your life takes on the quality of the planet activating your progressed ASC/DC.
N_w, I think the date of your progression is when the ruler of your ascendant makes it's first harmonious aspect to ...something. But I dunno what. Hope that cleared it up for you. IP: Logged |

Hi, Shawn. I don't think I'm asking my question the right way. I'm trying to deduce when an event may happen, not run a particalar date of a significant event to test if my 'birth' time is correct. I'm trying to figure out predictive Astrology. It a very useful thing, so I've heard! I've become interested in 'marriage indicators' in a chart, or significant unions/events to do with love & relationships (not necessarily marriage, ya know) I'm just curious about it. How can I predict, or deduce a date? What's are the sure fire indicators and how do I look for them?IP: Logged |

Hi Astroflute--Is this what you mean?My p. Asc is at 20.58 degrees Sag. P. Asc. will conjunct natal Mercury, p. Dsc. ruler, at 21.28 degrees. By minutes do you mean once p. Asc. reaches around 21.20 degrees? It will also trine p. Mars(R) at 21.36 degrees Leo (almost conjunct n. MC of 20.37 Leo). It is trine n. Moon which is at 20.52 degrees Aries. P. Jupiter (p. Asc. ruler) is trine N. Venus, 7th house ruler of natal. It is 12:05 and V. is 12.31. P. Moon, in Libra @ 18 degrees, will be very soon sextile and trine this stuff, but opposite natal Moon and will trine p. Dsc. LaurieAnn IP: Logged |

Hi Lioneye Progressed chart is not really so confusing - just read it same as you would read a natal chart. Go to www.astro.com and you can chose the Progressed chart option. It calculates it for you Sue PS: Not sure if this has already been mentioned but your chart progresses a day per year from the day you were born. IP: Logged |

So very simply we're just looking for something tagging the desc. ?Just look at all the progressed options for astrodeinst now... ugh. How do you read these?! what does it meaaaan.. where's the help file! lol far as i can tell in my progressions for today.. mars is doing "stuff" to Chiron, venus is doing "stuff" to my ASC, and my north node is doing "stuff" to my MC.... ehh.. oh bugger it. Can someone help me make sense of this? Is it also good to handle a synastry of this like one would with a davidson relationship chart? IP: Logged |

Thanks Astrotruth--Okay, just for confirmation, this can be the progressed AS/DS or the natal AS/DS, right? This is confusing...The progressed DS ruler, Mercury, is natally opp the p. DS, conjunct the p. AS, trine p. Mars. The p. Mercury is trine the p. MC. The p. AS ruler matter? As that is Jupiter coming to trine n. Venus, which is the natal 7th ruler, then will trine the n. 5th ruler. I understand minutes now...thank you. Am I doing this right? Phew! IP: Logged |

Too complicated! Why don't you use the directions? If you find something interesting there, then do your progression or your solar return, just to confirm it.IP: Logged |
