wishy-washy
flooded with emotion

i find these very helpful when describing the elements to people that don't know anything about astrology.

Earth: "He's solid as a rock"

Air: "He's somewhat flighty"

Earth: earthshaking and volcanic, tall mountain or dry desert

Air: whipped into a frenzy, winds of change

Water: thirst-quenching, stream of inspiration, all-penetrating, wave-lashing

water- e-motion (energy in motion), flow
(my friend dave and i are currently having this same discussion, i loved what he said about water, his most influencial element:
"water, tends too stay a course rather calm or rapid, deliberate or subtile with under pulling curents - but it is also very willing to expand very subtile -always urging to widen its path even to the point of
cutting through rock, slowly changing"

air- intuition, bloated, blown up
