Hey Lil Lizzie. Welcome to LindaLand. You're from Nakusp? Cool to find a Kootenay girl in Lindaland. I'm in the West Kootenays myself (but not Nakusp). Did you grow up out here or in Vic?

Welcome Lil' Lizzie! I have been here just a short while, and have posted so much people must hate seeing my name now! But I feel welcomed, and I am extending that same welcome to you. I have already learned so much more than I thought possible, and I, like you, have been studying astrology for over ten years..... more as a sideline than actual study, really. I am a fellow Canadian, though from Ontario. Enjoy your stay!!!!!!! I hope to hear you contribute. I have a feeling you are one funny knowflake. Leo/Gemini/Leo? Yep.

Hey Fish Kitten.
I actually grew up in the Slocan Valley and Nelson, where we moved when I was 5. I've been here in Vic for about 7 years though. Where about's are you? The Kootaney's are wonderful aren't they? I really miss the mountains.

Hello,
I was referred to this site by a friend.
I read through several of the threads and learned a great deal on astrology already!
I guess I will start my intro with my stats
f Jan 30, 1969 Tampa Fla. Usa.

I have a question regarding Saturn closely opposing another's mars. I was told it has to do with Karmic Past life issues. Death murder etc...
What do you make of two individuals that both Saturn oppose the others mars? A double edged sword so to speak. Would greatly appreciate any information.

these are the aspects:
Individual no 1
Saturn 6th house Aries
mars scorp 1st house

Individual no 2
Saturn Taurus 3rd house
mars Libra 8

Blessings,
Redwood

Hi Lil' Lizzie and Redwood, welcome to you both!

I am very new here as well, and I look forward to reading your posts too.

I can't help you Redwood, since I actually know very little about the Mars/Saturn aspects.

Lil'Lizzie, you have a Gemini moon?

I have a question for you then. Do you think that it is hard for you to keep secrets or confidences that people give to you with that kind of influence on you? I read several posts here awhile back stating just that thing, so since you have that aspect, could you please post something back when you can and let me know if you honestly think that's true about yourself too?

lol, I have some Gemini Moon friends, and I am actually just a little bit hesitant to be too revealing to them from now on since I read through that thread, lol.

Of course, one of them has a Gemini stellium with not only the Moon, but also the Sun and Mercury, the planet of talk no less, lol, in that very sign of the Twins as well.

And yes sometimes, I have noticed that he likes to spread the news.

The other person has a Gemini Moon with an Aqua sun, so they're into communication too, with the two Air influences there, although her talk sign Mercury is in Pisces though.

Thanks for answering if you want to!

Hi Lil Lizzie. I'm in Kaslo now, but have lived in Edgewood, Windermere, and Hills over the past 15 years or so. I was in Vancouver for a while lurking around the SFU Archaeology Department. I must say, I'm glad to be back here in the Kootenays. Always quiet, beautiful, and so very special here. If you like astrology and other essoteric ideas, I think you'll love Lindaland.

Hi, Redwood
I dug this up on the Saturn/Mars thing...apparently it's a real bugger!

quote:
Mars-Saturn in Synastry

When Mars in one person's chart forms an aspect to their partner's Saturn, special handling is required. The hard aspects in particular can be very problematic.

The conjunction of Mars and Saturn in synastry is best understood when you consider the individual energies of these two planets. The qualities of the sign that Saturn occupies points to expressions that do not come naturally to Saturn. Saturn feels awkward or inhibited expressing the energies of the sign, and often will try to compensate by trying to exercise control over these characteristics in his/her personality. In contrast, the characteristics of the sign that Mars occupies are expressed fully, naturally, and with enthusiasm! You can only imagine what this means in a relationship. If both individuals are considerate of each other, and are growth-oriented, the relationship can be a great learning experience. For example, if the conjunction occurs in Aries, the Mars individual will take action, and express his/her me-first tendency freely and unabashedly. Aries, quite simply, comes naturally to Mars! Saturn, on the other hand, feels unnatural expressing these traits. Perhaps he/she feels guilty when taking the lead. Where Mars rushes right in, Saturn carefully appraises the situation before he goes into it, if he doesn't withdraw from it altogether. Mars can have much to learn from Saturn -- Mars can learn how to think a little before acting, and tone down his/her aggressiveness and impatience. As well, Saturn has much to learn from Mars. Saturn may secretly long to be just like Mars, going after what it wants without fear of failure.

On the other hand, if Mars is not sensitive to Saturn's feelings of inadequacy, he/she may simply assert independence, tease Saturn for being inept or withdrawn, and run roughshod over Saturn's feelings. Similarly, if Saturn doesn't want to face up to his own feelings of inadequacy, he/she may do everything in their power to bring Mars down, control Mars, and limit Mars' expression.

When Mars squares, quincunxes, or opposes Saturn in synastry, this second scenario is quite likely. At the beginning of the relationship, Saturn is often unfettered by Mars' energy, and may even find it attractive. With time, Saturn becomes annoyed with Mars' seeming lack of discipline and "childishness". How Saturn handles this will be very important. Unfortunately, very often the Saturn native uses subtle ways to undermine the Mars native's confidence. Saturn attempts to control Mars by limiting, blocking, and undermining Mars. Mars feels like he/she is always in the wrong in Saturn's eyes. When Mars laughs naturally and freely, Saturn stares at Mars with a superior look, as if Mars is being foolish. Saturn may criticize Mars for everything from the way Mars dresses to how he/she behaves with others. Saturn perceives Mars as over-confident and frivolous, gets annoyed at the drop of a hat, and lets Mars know, either with direct criticism or a general air of disapproval. For a while, Mars tries to win back Saturn's favor. After all, the very traits that Saturn seemed to love about Mars at the beginning of the relationship have turned into things to criticize. The nature of Mars is rather aggressive, however, so this period will likely be short-lived. Mars will then become angry at Saturn for all of Saturn's over-serious behavior and disapproval. Mars may rebel and flaunt themselves before Saturn, which in turn makes Saturn feel all the more need to inhibit and restrict Mars. Can you see where this is going? The relationship has turned into living hell. Any latent aggressive tendencies in either individual become larger than life. At the very least, verbal abusiveness can result. Physical aggression is sometimes the next step if these discordant energies get out of hand. Eventually, Mars will want to leave, which can anger Saturn even more.

HI everyone and thanks so much for the warm welcomes! I feel very comfortable here now!!

Hey Pondering FishMoon
Very interesting question...I would like to disagree with this, however, I do love to talk, and sometimes I won't even realize how far I have gone until the words have slipped off my toungue. However, when it comes to issues of great confidence, it is much easier for me to keep the ol' trap shut...I just have to be told first (or in work matters). Sometimes I don't know if it's strictly confidential, as I rarely keep anything in my own life secret..I'm an open book.
FishKitten...I'm really happy to know another Kootaney-dweller here. Kaslo is beautiful...but getting cold now eh?

Thanks to all
Eliza

Dear board members,

Thank you for the warm welcome as well as a very big thank you to lioneyes for the insightful information regarding Saturn/mars.
It is greatly appreciated.

Everyone seems to be sharing information regarding charts.

here's mine.....
Sun- Aqua
Moon- Cancer
Merc- Aqua
Mars-Scorp
Venus- Pisces
Ascend- Scorp.

Landed on this earth 1-30-1969 12:31 am Tampa Florida.....by the time I began crawling was whisked off across the globe traveling to many different places with my home base in Europe(Spain) Continued my over seas journey till my mid teens. Then winding up with a long stay completely out of my element in Southern Calif.

Used to feel that my cancer moon was a emotional noose around my neck. Made me too compassionate, conflicting with my innate Aqua and Scorpio aspects. Learned later had more to do with my Venus/Neptune trine with Venus in Pisces. Although that moon helped.
I learned though much self reflection and growth......it is a beautiful balance. A long dark night of the soul....teaches you that there is darkness and light.....good and bad in all things...... Acceptance and the ability to embrace both sides is key to integrating into complete harmony. Not only in the self but externally of all that there is.

Hello Redwood. I really can't help with your question, I actually don't even know as much as you do. *s*
I just thought I would say hello to a fellow displaced southern californian. I actually am happy here...but that is probably because happy is where I am always. I've lived in Fla and all over the States, but never stepped foot out of the country.

I just thought I would say that I like your manner of speaking/writing...it seems that although you may somehow be out of your element physically, you seem to have a beautiful, calming peacfulness all around you.

I think that is very cool.
