Throughout December I have been trying to write a letter to someone who is very special to me. I wrote the letter it is done. But I won't send him the letter until I a few other things are done too. I was planning to send him the letter by the end of December after Christmas and today I found out a terrible thing. There will be a MERCURY RETROGRADE on December 17 2003 up until January 6 2004. The days before and after these three weeks won't be safe to send him the letter either. That means I'll have to wait a month or longer to send him the letter. I am so upset, I had everything planned out accordingly, and this had to happen. What a wonderful coincidence, that something so important to me would have to be slammed by a Mercury Retrograde. That means for three long weeks I have to recheck, refrain, rewrite, redo, retrospect, reply, respect, retry, and remake.  I am so stressed out, I'm lagging behind at school, my thoughts are all confused, I'm turning depressed because I don't know what to do, I'm just so upset that I have a big CAUTION sign in front of my face. Hey...it's okay and you can still send it. You started the letter BEFORE the retrograde. It would be quite another thing if you wrote it DURING the retrograde. Life cannot come to a stand still because of a retrograde. It is more about making sure you check every communication over for mistakes, be wary that things may not go as planned - lost mail or otherwise. Travel gets delayed, but hey, what can you do? Please don't let the retrograde prevent you from finishing an action, just hold out in the starting of new projects for a while.  IP: Logged |

I just have one thought, upon reading this.... and that one thought spirals a bit, so bear with me....
If you are anticipating the retrograde messing up your plans, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy.... you will now NOT send it because of this news, Because you think that it will become delayed. There is free will, retrogrades do not guarantee this particular letter will go awry, but in not sending it, for fear, you are willfully guaranteeing it won't get to (him). Take a xerox, make several copies, send it off, and take your chances that it will be like any other day. Maybe the postal worker will be slow, and it will be a day late....who can truly predict? Then if it turns out that (he) didn't receive it, well, you have the copies, send it on out again! After all, you would've had to wait anyway, right?IP: Logged |

Starlover, That's okay. You already started it and that was the important part. The worry comes from the "transit" of the letter. So you can make sure it gets there by sending it Fed Ex or certified mail (tell you special friend, you just wanted to make sure he got it). Follow pixie's advice (good one by the way ) and make copies of it in case it gets lost. If you choose not to do it, then you let the retrograde defeat you any way. I made my travel plans ahead of time, but I have to travel during the retrograde. Do I not go because there might be problems? Hell no!!! I will still go and expect a few problems. Pixie is right, it can be a self fulfilling prophecy if you let it affect you that way. IP: Logged |

I am an idiot. I'm ignorant about sending mail. What do you mean by Certified or Fedex, how do I go about doing this correctly? Sorry, dumb question.-StarLover IP: Logged |

Go to Fed/Ex, mailboxes etc... a local courier, and ask them about the details. Depending upon the package weight, etc, and how quickly you would like it there, they will charge you accordingly. It is quite an easy process, and practically guarantees one way or the other, you will at least know the path it took from A to B. And can respond with assurance.IP: Logged |

Don't let Merc Rx ever stop you from doing what you want to do. Just take extra precautions. Life must go on. Mail the letter. Worst that could happen is that it is delivered late or gets lost.  ------------------

Starlover trust your instinct, do what your gut tells you. It never ever fails. I think your gut is telling you to stick to your plans and then the universe will decide what happens next. Put your faith in fate, even if it does not turn out as expected it will be for the better. Do not let something that has not happend yet affect you so deeply. It is a waste of energy. Another way to look at it is the chance to get back in touch with a person you haven't contacted in a while during Mercury Retro periods. I love hearing from old friends and usually with a Mercury retro, we sometimes reconnect...IP: Logged |
