what placements would indicate a problem with eating disorders?

I was told that I have the placement that would indicate this and I was just wondering which one it was...I have this astological analysis that mentions it but I'm missing pages and can't figure out what the placement is.

the reason I'm interested is because I'm a former anorexic. I'm actually participating in a genetic study at a hospital here in MD to hopefully identify a gene responsible for the disease.

just in case this would help:

Hi FinanceChick:

First, does any of the following ring true for you?

* You really need to acheive a level of power & prominence in your life.

* It is important for you to always look your best.

* You still believe in the prince in shining armor.

* You like to escape in a fantasy world.

If the above are yes, then that means my research would apply to you. I would say the placement that may point to an anorexic problem is you are extremely sensitive when you do not get approval. Sometimes it is said that anorexia can be one way for someone to get attention, but then it gets out of hand and the problem becomes bigger than you.

It's perfectly alright to be honest and open here. It is an anonymous forum and I've talked people through a few things. I've had an extremely challenging lifetime this time around... so this is your chance to heal along with the rest of us....

The one anorexic I knew really well was Jewish, adopted and an only child. Supposedly that's one of the profile's.

I can say yes to all of those but mine is a strange case because it does "run" in my family....my Dad's sister suffered (and still suffers and she's 45 years old) from the disorder. So do I to a degree....for example... i do not have any full length mirrors in my home...other than the face mirrors in the bathrooms, no other mirrors in the house...it contributes to the negative thought process. I do like to look good but that's from a "FACE" standpoint and a clothing standpoint, if I had a full lenght mirror in my home, I know I'd seldom leave the house I'd be so depressed....no scales either...I get weighted 2 times per year...when I go for my GYN visit. I used to wieght myself every day, multiple times per day but it contributes to the negitive thoughts as well so I have no scales in my home....and there are still certain foods I absolutly will not eat....but, I'm at a "healthy" weight for my height.

I find it odd with all my pices placements, I thought they were supposed to have "weight" issues (in terms of being heavy) but maybe this is my weight issue...know what I mean?

Cindy Crawford is a Pices and she's not heavy.

I'm an almost former bulimic, and I have Chiron in the 6th (aries), as well as a taurus moon, and north node in 1st in Saggy. I've read that Chiron in the 6th points to eating disorders, a taurus moon makes you an emotional eater and north node in 1st gives you problems with standing up for yourself. I would look for Chirons placement and maybe the moon (emotional reactions).

Hey FinanceChick:

Glad to get a post back from you. I was just thinking about you.

I want to say a couple of things, first start with the astrology. When I researched your Sun/Moon combination, it DEFINATELY shows that you place A LOT of influence on appearance. The type of guy you'd get along with will be the type who will appreciate a mate like you who cares about looking good all the time. (Be careful of seeking confirmation. He could be your enabler).

As for your Chiron, it is in Aries in 2nd hs., which I do not see as being eventful in terms of anorexia. Chiron moves very slowly and only in certain planets, so it is common for people to share the same.

As for your famiy, I understand exactly what you mean about the mystery of why it runs in the family. I would like to offer some suggestions on alternate ways of viewing this.

First, if you read enough astrology stuff, you will find that when reading something about YOUR chart, it will mention what type of parents you had, or what type of home environment you had. Now... if the interpretation is about YOU, then how in the world can it also predict what those outside influences will be????

Hmmmmmm... very interesting, isn't it?

Really want you to think about that. It would pertain to issues of karma. If you assume this will be your last incarnation in the physical realm, that the Higher Source has witnessed your soul's evolution to the point where you're done, then you can also assume that you were born with this Sun/Moon affliction because you will be the hallmark of this family issue.

HUGE responsibility, yes. I too have that challenge, and I would venture to say that most people who commit to evolving also carry this load.

One way I deal with it is just to go easier on myself. Like making a deal with Source, I'll say, OK... here's the deal. I will represent this soul's evolution by accepting this karma, and I know you will understand how challenging and difficult this will be. So I know you will allow me to be easy on myself and all things will be completed in due time.

It's sort of like writing down the deal on paper, making the deal and doing your confirmations, then lighting the paper on fire and JUST LETTING IT GO. It's understood. YOU are understood. The entire situation is understood without you having to control it or interpret it for anyone else, or explain it to anyone else, OR GET APPROVAL from anyone else. It is your secret journey, a SACRED and LOVING understanding between ONLY you and Source.

Remember, we based our decision on what our conscious and subconscious beliefs are. Many of those beliefs were ingrained in us since childhood. Years of therapy will help reveal them to you. What you can do in the meantime is tap into a really cool shortcut provided by the universe by default. It's call FAITH.

In case you are a reader, the best book I've read which had practical applications I could do immediately, is called Self-Esteem, Second Edition, by McKay & Fanning. They may have new editions, and they've also written other books.

But it's the BEST no-frills, no-feel-good mumbo jumbo book that you can start using right away, and you will see changes immediately.

with love & support,

yeah, this is my last trip...my 12th is empty. I often wonder, if this is my last trip and I've been here so many other times before, you'd thinkI'd have it "figured out" by now.

I feel like I deal with KARMA pretty well, I've "beat" anorexia where other's have said it would be close to impossible. I "Sturggle" every day with the thoughts though.

I do care about my appearance but I don't think I take it to extremes anymore, I'm not real big into make-up but I do take care of my skin and am contemplating a mild chemical peel for my 30th birthday to help rejuvinate my skin from a childhood spent in the swimming pool before we knew there was a hole in the ozone and before SPF was recommended.

I don't know, I'm just trying to figure the whole thing out.

I know a few Pisces and Pisces moons who have eating disorders, one is a man. He has had his stomach stapled and eats donuts every morning. I can't do anything about it but he's pretty sensitive to his looks, as he is gay and wants to look 18 again or as he puts it no one will want him.

He is very critical of other's appearances, including their sunglasss, perfume, cologne, outfits, and hair.

This is the same with Pisces moons have found, but only if they have the opposition, somewhere between Pisces and Virgo. I have the challenge myself with Pisces/Virgo and Cancer/Capricorn Polarity and I see battles. I also have Aries/Chrion but in the 4th. I know another man with eating battles and he has Chiron in the 4th too.

You have to choose to love yourself, it's not automatic with the Pisces influence, I think it tends to make you love others more than yourself. Self denial is big, it's a way to prove yourself.

There is a good discussion on this issue on north-node.com, if you go to community, astrology questions and search for eating disorders.

Take Care,

Sherry:

You cannot imagine how wonderful it is to "hear" you say that you know this is your last time. Then YOU KNOW you cannot cheat!! Or you do not pass Go.

I've been through extremely extremely difficult times. Horrific events you could not even imagine in a million years, which I have survived, barely. So the only thing left to do for us survivors, the only thing left... is to FINALLY figure out what are mission is and fulfill it. We're on the same page.

I totally recommend the face peel thing. Ask the doctor about a line called Obagi for maintenance. It's changed my appearance completely. I had really darks sun blotches from the sun in younger years as well.

And I use Shade by Coppertone for sunblock, every day. It has a special ingredient the others don't. I use the gel so it's not greasy and it's great.

Keep fighting Sherry, I got'cha covered...

Gloria,

Despite the fact that I "KNOW" this is my last trip, they say that people with an empty 12th...are here for a special purpose, to really make a difference in the world but i have absolutly NO CLUE what my purpose is.

I do have this pull tough, the pull to be "practical" with life and work a 9-5 corporate job which i HAVE been doing for the past 5 years and there there's this pull to join the peacecorps or some kind of humanitarian effort like that....it's like..when I think about what I would do if I ever won powerball or megamillions (both lottery type games on the east coast) I always dream about what I could do with that kind of money to help people, provide for my parents and then invest a little to provide a continuous stream of cash flow so I could continue to help people. I don't ever dream about using the money for myself in an extravagant way.

So I don't know...I kow this is my last trip and I'm supposed to "make it count big" but I just don't know what it is I'm supposed to do.

Here's a brief article which I think puts the "empty house" thing in perspective:

Sherry:

OK darlin'... I would like to take a good look at your chart and just share with you what I see, if that is something you wouldn't mind? I'm not going to cut and paste text from an astro program or something, I'm going to do the raw work and look at what's going on from several unique perspectives.

Cool?

We'll both try and start this year off on the right foot.

Gloria,
Sure, but I wish there was some way I could return the favor, please let me know.

I've had several people look at my chart but sometimes I don't know how to apply the in terpretations in my life, for example, someone once told me that I might sometimes feel like I'm pulled in 2 directions as far as life goals...but I've always felt that way, it really didn't tell me anything I didn't already KNOW like HOW to manage the PULL in both directions, or another person once told me that my chart indicated I have trouble in "love" relationships...and that isn't anything I didn't know...I just don't know how to "combat" the negative aspects or at least try to deal with them and THAT'S what makes me feel doomed.

does that make sense?

Yeah... I know what you mean because those generalizations don't give you a way to apply anything to everyday life.

It's cool. It will be more to your liking, and then you take from it what you can.

As for trying to do something for me in return, just be honest and feel free to give me your opinions.

I thinkI know part of the problem...my Neptune is conjunct my midheaven...I read what this means and that's really how I feel, I feel like I'm stuck on the negativeness of this aspect.

I imagine Virgos would be the most likely to fall into eating disorders... They are obsessive perfectionists.

I had both anorexia and bulimia. I 've been struggling with the disorders for 7 years. I look healthy now, but it's still there, somewhere in my mind. It also caused me a lot of other disorders, which i can not really relate to my chart.

I'm Scorpio with Libra rising, Libra is focused on beauty and since it's my rising i think it's very much connected to my physicall appereance, my moon is is in sagittarius, and i have a stellium in Sagittarius. Which makes me kind of a sports person, and my eating problems started when i quit playing tennis. I also have Saturn in Capricorn, someone mentioned it's connected too. Mars in Gemini in 8th opposing the stellium in 2nd.

I think more than one thing can indicate an eating disorder. I had an eating disorder that was triggered by lack of support at home for trying to lose weight when I developed a passion for ballet which has a very lean standard. As it turns out I have Saturn conjunct Jupiter in the 4th house in opposition to my midheaven and square my ascendant. My ascendant ruler happens to be Venus in Pisces and I also have Neptune in my 1st house.

Hi,all, I had anorexia when I entered college. I wanted to control everything and be perfect. I was afraid because I got a bad first grade and my family went through a time with bad money. I think I thought the only way for people and me to love me would be getting very thin (I was not fat or overweight, but not thin). I had 1,6 and weighted around 55 kg. I also think is the wanting to control and setting goals to high and then getting disappointed. At least we can control our bodies (or we think so). I dont know. It was very stupid of me and I am afraid of entering diets and so on after that happened (during a year, I lost 20 kg in 5 months without exercising).

I have sun in sag, moon in capricorn, 10th house, conjunct venus and jupiter. All sextile to saturn in scorpio eight house. North node in taurus, second house. I dont know how to identify through astrology.

Maybe moon in earth? or 10th house needing public approval? Or saturn influencing ascendant or moon/sun?
