Hi Archer:

Not sure what you meant by Libra in 3rd. Did you mean Saturn in Libra in 3rd?

As for Saturn in Scorpio in 3rd hs, here it goes. Because this person would have a natural knack for psychically reading other's intentions, it greatly enhances power of persuation which can become compulsive.

The important thing is to acknowledge this power but use it responsibly so that you can be on the heartfelt receiving end in human interactions as well.

with love & support,

.gloria

Hi Archer,

Is Libra on the cusp of your 3rd house
(I think you said you have a Virgo Rising, so that should keep Libra mostly in your 2nd house and maybe a wee bit of your 3rd house)

Saturn in Scorpio means the following:
Scorpio
Saturn in Scorpio adds much purpose and impatience to your nature. You demand much of yourself and of others. You approach responsibilities with an intensity of purpose that overwhelms people who won't carry their share of the load. You have terrific willpower and much energy. With your determination, it's hard to remain calm and reflective. Secretive and unforgiving, you resent it deeply when you are treated unfairly. Despite your strong drive for success, your approach is usually subtle and calculating.

The principle of agnoia combines with the great unknown here. This has the effect of deepening any mysteries that may exist in the natives life. Related to this, they sometimes have a very morbid side or an obsession with death or the occult. Some say that this position creates sexual inhibition or perversion but Schmidt says that association happened because the French called sex "Le petit mort" meaning "the little death". Some have serious issues with lack of security or having to deal with an unsafe environment. As a result, they tend to be gravely serious in temperment and sometimes lack a sense of humour. They often feel like they have been made a scape goat, suffering because of the actions of others, frequently having to correct their mistakes. This is because of the aversion Saturn's ruler has to its primary house. This sometimes puts them in the awkward situation of having to take responsibility for something without having the authority. They take responsibility very seriously and work extremely hard to achieve their ambitions. They pursue their work and ambitions with great intensity and can be relentless and persevering in the face of difficulties. Their ability to achieve the seemingly impossible comes from their agnoia (not knowing) of how to quit.

In a diurnal chart, the heat of the day counteracts Saturn's excessively cold nature. There is less uncertainty (agnoia) about ambitions and goals. There is greater moderation in routine and greater clarity in issues of authority and responsibility. This is due to the fire of the day rarifying opportunities for breakdown in command structures. As a result, these natives tend to achieve above average success in corporate positions.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night magnify the agnoia of Saturn. Because the native tends to lack clear boundaries for responsibilities, they may either tend to take all responsibility or none at all. In the former case they have a tendency to overwork themselves. If the chart is eminent, they achieve great success. If not, they achieve censure for overstepping their bounds while another takes the credit. In the latter case, they may become outcasts, vagabonds or homeless developing an acute hatred for aristocracy.

Saturn in the 3rd is explained as follows:

Saturn: If the lord of the 3rd is Saturn or Saturn is in the 3rd house, in sect and dignified or received, then the agnoia created by the darkness is dispelled and becomes great wisdom, especially with age. If Saturn is out of sect here, but dignified, they stumble upon occult knowledge accidentally, following unconventional academic standards in very difficult areas of study and achieve great wisdom, but with less recognition, often feeling like they grope for knowledge in the dark. In both cases, the native enjoys endless hours in isolation in darkened rooms contemplating and studying the mysteries, and are often in possession of knowledge dangerous to the established ways because this place is heretical to established faith. In general, the native moves about the neighborhood ponderously with eyes downcast, not seeing or reacting to the opportunities that might randomly pop up (zombies represent the extreme of this type of energy). Because Saturn is the most superior visible planet and most ponderous in motion, all the natives relatives apply to him/her not the other way around. Though Saturn may be in the best of dignity, few with this figure escape an interruption in their education, and it is a near certainty if Saturn is afflicted, though many go on contemplating forever, as though they had credentials. If debilitated there is the danger of seeing things only in black and white and communication may be disjoint to the point of stuttering. The native often feels isolated from God and neighbors due to Saturns cold nature. Often they wander aimlessly from place to place, suffering constant inconveniences in their daily routine, and minor inhibitions in their movement.

Archer: Here is a less intense explantion of Saturn in the 3rd:
Saturn in the Third House: Communications tend to be cautious and restrained. This placement may actually indicate some sort of speech impediment, at least in youth. Communications tend to be important, too important. This can easily cause a dislike of small talk, and a fear of saying the wrong thing so that the person with this placement winds up saying nothing at all. The mind inclines to be too serious. These folks are the kind who will sit by themselves at a party and think "How can I be here having fun when I have all this serious work to do?". Lighten up. You’ll be healthier. Still, the mind is constructive and organized, even if it tends to be a bit slow (haste makes waste). If there are siblings, the older ones were more likely to pick on you, and the younger ones were probably a burden (perhaps you had to take care of them).
