Is there a way to guess someone's ascendant by the physical appearance only? I have such problem because I don't know the man's birth hour and I don't want to ask him. I'm sure you can get some information by the physical appearance. Specifically, I'm interested which rising sign can show problems with the eyesight - high dioptres? And I suppose that having some planets on the ascendant makes the physical appearance kind of different? What about blond hair and blue eyes? Is it possible that Cancer rising can denote such appearance?IP: Logged |

I've wondered that myself. I'd like to be able to guess someones sign or asc. But if it is possible, it might take alot of skill, maybe we could list some sign characteristics here. For example: scorpio's gaze.

personally, I doubt this business about the Asc having DIRECTLY a connection to looks. I have a knack for putting different things in connection to each other and been looking into this for some time now. So far I see people looking alike (having SOME look-alike attributes) due to similar SUN sign... I also noticed that certain Venus signs seem to be easily observed on the face: Capricorn Venus has slim lips, Aries Venus has full lips; with a bit of a doubt, I would add the nose into this, but just cos the Aries Venus have big noses; I can't say something in particular for the Capricorn Venus noses: they're not "small", it's something else... I also noticed that a Pisces or even water sign Venus seems to be associated with curly lashes. It may also be true for a Pisces Asc - I have an included sign of Pisces in the first and mine are SOMEWHAT curly  BUT
you CAN tell an Ascendant by other signs. the Asc is the most visible aspect of ones personality! but you first must know what each sign/Asc stands for. Some are hard to grasp for me. others, NOT! one who never likes to fight, always tries to please everyone, always tries to prevent disputes, always knows just how to say something bad in a nice way... LIBRA! the diplomat. the LEO is the one you can never miss out in a group. you'll know it for sure when a LEO Asc enters the room. the GEMINI talk, talk, talk. Well, not really! My Capricorn Sun-Moon friend isn't like that at all, although very friendly. but she DOES look younger (she's 25 but you'd swear she's in her teens) and she has the most perfect, fine skin. other Gemini Asc doo looove to chit-chat and are kinda restless. do you know someone who always keeps to her/him self, like they have a second agenda on their mind, you never know what they think, but they do pay attention from this position? While I have a Libra asc, and one of my friends whose also into astrology guessed I was as I am quite curvy and short with small ears, although she did say I had scorp eyes!!! Can't hide em, eh!!??
My Aunty is definitly a Leo asc, she projects "Attencion now, look at my golden locks and beautiful jewellery" ands she practically glows when she walks in a room!!By the way kitti, if you start talking about being born and babies you could casually say something like "I started coming out in the early morning but was born lunchtime 12:00! I still like a lie in!! What about you??" ect, thats what works 4 me without sounding rude!! IP: Logged |

christiname, I have Venus in Cap and I have very full lips. sun_scorpion, in my opinion, Scorpio eyes are the most distinguishable trait, appearance-wise. They're the easiest to pick out in a crowd. IP: Logged |

LionEye is very good at estimating the ascendant from someone's physical appearance. It sounds crazy, but sometimes eyebrows are indicative of the rising sign. Scorpio eyebrows are said to be prominent and slightly bushy with a pronounced browbone. Hope this makes sense!------------------

Apparantly Aries suns are supposed to have a curled v shaped nose and eyebrows, like the picture symbolising Aries, (if u don't know, its the first pic on the top left of this page, in the 'Linda-Goodman.com' box.)
I always thought Kate Hudsen looked like a typical Aries.
Also, most Cappy men I know have rather sad eyes!IP: Logged |

Oxychick, really? Oh, well... I don't suppose there are some aspects there or strong emphasis on other sign *Aries, for instance? Thanx for pointing that out - I was so sure... Oh well, I also have it and that's one reason to get it wrong... What's your favourite kind of music? I wanna see if we have this in common... Hi christiname  No Aries in my chart and my 1st House is empty. lol My Venus is in Cap in the 7th house, unaspected. I have very even facial features. I'm an Aqua Sun/Leo Moon/Gemini Asc. I have the Aquarius fine hair feature, short and in a bob. I have a very good friend who is also Aqua Sun/Leo Moon and everyone thinks we're sisters. Her nose is slightly more elongated and her eyes smaller, but she has very full lips also we both have noticeably huge smiles. Her rising is Sag. We're the same height and similar body shape. I'm not much of an R&B fan, but only because I haven't really been too exposed to it. I do however love Sinatra and Elvis. I think my taste leans more towards rock-classic and new. You can usually tell a person's ascendant pretty well. I don't agree with what you said about people looking more like their sun signs, in some ways maybe, but far from all the time.

I'm a scorp asc. I put mine (and hubby's) pic in the eyebrow thread, but I don't think I look scorp asc. at all. I think the moons here are more important. I've a taurus moon, and hubby has a libra moon. Hubby's asc is gemini.Love,

Nackie, definitly the moons are important, my friend is a Cancer with Leo moon and with most people she's shy but with m8's shes really fun and loud. Also she has really blonde, curly hair so maybe the moon contributes to facial characteristics too....IP: Logged |

 Here goes another try...the pic doesn't come up in the eyebrow thread, I don't know why. Apropos big ears, my FIL (a triple fire: aries sun, leo asc and saggie moon) has the hugest ears lol...that would correlate to the moon theory! My son is a saggie but doesn't have big ears... I have small ears and am a Sagittarius and I have Venus in Capricorn and my lips are full. Guess I'm an exception to the rule, but I think my looks come from my rising sign, Aquarius.It would be cool if we could each post our pics and truly compare the way we look to they way our natal charts suggest we should look. I would have to agree with the sun being most influencial on appearance, if you want to guess the ascendant, I think it would be best to think back to the first time you met them. In the first five minutes of your contact with them, how did they strike you? The ascendant is usually a good indicator of their outward surface personality, or the one that you would see on a first impression, or if you don't really scratch the surface. Only with deeper contact do you start to see the true self which tends to be more related to the sun signs as well, naturally all have influence but if you had to choose one to generalize by it would be the sun.At least that is what I have found to be true IP: Logged |

Sun-Scorpion -- Interesting. I have a Scorpio Asc and Pluto is in Leo. LOL I have always been complimented on my "blonde locks" and Lord knows, i do have a lot of nice jewelry and wear it!! (probably expecting a positive comment too, lol).Honestly, tho, i'm not sure anyone would guess too much about me, with many placements in Pisces and Aries(includes Sun and Moon respectively). I do have the intent Scorp gaze tho. My Mother had Scorpio Asc also and i believe SHE would have been guessed correctly. She even scared ME!! lol Ya can really get tangled up with all the influences of Sun Moon and Asc on physical appearance. I have made as many wrong guesses as correct ones. When I look at a picture of a face and try to guess which sign it reminds me of, I will quite often see the moon sign or Venus first. That's usually in the overall shape and positioning of the features. The rising sign is more in the facial expression...like Virgo rising tends to look cynical or uncomfortable, Leo rising tends to look kind of smug or like they're on to an inside joke or something, Taurus rising tends to look weary but happy, and so on. I often see the moon sign in their eyes. It's like the energy behind the energy. Fire moons look inspired, like they're saying "That's amazing!!", water moon eyes tend to look glassy and have a rather elusive quality to them, air moon eyes look very alert, and seem to be assessing things all the time, and earth moon eyes seem very peaceful and steady, and serious...
When you meet someone in person, you can see the ascendant in the way they conduct themselves more than anything else.
Of course, for each one of these explainations there are 80 bazillion exceptions, but that's my onion anyway. IP: Logged |

How are astrology experts like Linda able to be so accurate when guessing the asc? Considering my elementary understanding of astrology, I do have a high percentage of guessing others' sun sign.
