I LOVE MONKEYS!!! Starting Jan 22, it will be the Chinese year of the monkey!!!

In general, the yang wood Monkey is symbol of revolution, movement and changes. The metal cutting the root of the tree represents hidden danger and disturbance to the foundation. So it will be a year of more conflict and disharmony in international relationship but there are good chances of seeing new light and brighter future after struggles. The animal sign, which are not so favorable, is the Tiger, which is into a year of clash against the Monkey. Such clash usually bring about movements. So people born in the year of the Tiger will anticipate more changes and moves this year, such as travelling, moving house, changing job…etc. It is necessary to carry a pendant of Snake as protection to attract the Monkey away. For the Tiger people, it is also recommended to avoid driving cars too fast as the Monkey Tiger clash may bring traffic accident. Also it is not good to travel so much directly to the Southwest especially in the month of August and February, as southwest is the position of the Grand Duke of the Monkey year.

The other animal sign under negative influences is the Monkey, which is offending the year. Also the Snake is having a penalty relationship with the year. Penalty is related to hidden danger, hidden sickness. So people born in year of Tiger, Snake, or Monkey should also be careful of their health this year, as this three penalty is of fire nature and they may bring sickness related to blood and heart.

The better animals signs in the year of the Monkey are the Rat and the Dragon, as they are in combine relationship with the Monkey, so will be into a more harmonious year. There is some good news for people born in the year of the Rooster, they will be into a year favorable for romance. http://www.raymond-lo.com/main/monkey.asp

YIPPPPPPEEE again...I am a rooster..looks like a romantic year for me.

Good luck all!!!

If you are a Monkey Person: Born in the years: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992: Then here is a description of you.

Monkeys are always alert and can feel surroundings even as they are thoroughly engaged in conversation. Monkeys are sociable and have an active outside life. Monkeys sympathize with people and they in turn trust you with their secrets. Monkeys can forgive, but never forget and can be revengeful if somebody wrongs them several times. They wait their turn for the perfect opportunity and nothing can stop them from achieving a goal. They have a lively love life. Monkeys are good at making people comfortable and even the most shy individuals open up to them. Having a very attractive openness, and as a partner they are reliable, adaptable and cheerful. Inherently brainy, monkeys very rarely fail in their mission. They are good at assessing risk and financial problems. Monkeys are intellectual and their memory is incredible. They don't care what opinions others may have of them. They know they are lucky, and they also know they have the power to change things when convenience calls. Monkeys are virtually unsinkable! If people try to trick monkeys, they will probably catch them. They never make a move without a plan. They are great strategists. They can spot an opportunity in any form. They never miss a trick! They improve and try to do things better, and often amaze even themselves. They are the ultimate diplomats and slip in and out of difficulties with ease. Monkeys are always out in front! Dragons and rats will match up with the monkey. Famous people like Will Smith, Julius Caesar, Lord Byron, Elizabeth Taylor , de Vinci, Harry S. Truman, and Jennifer Anniston are signed under the monkey.

Changes and moves! OH YES! Please! The more the merrier! Changing job... Better and better. I shall be starting up a new company this year. No, seriously. It was my intention before I ever read this prediction.
I'm not sure about some Chinese predictions, they always seem to have a slightly negative slant. For me, there are only about 3 years out of the whole 12 that are supposed to be favourable!
Maybe it's the way things are worded. Western astrology generally gives you the aspects for the year and tells you what you CAN do with them, rather than what you CAN'T. For example, I have a hunch that this is going to be a great year (but then, I always do!) My husband is a Monkey and I feel this is going to be a great year for him, too!

i love my monkey! and plus he's a Gemini -- so makes him the ultimate monkey!

thanks for the thread! i'm a snake myself, probably explains why us two air signs tend to clash more than we should...

i've always had heart palpitations, and come to think of it, its been acting stranger than usual, since Chinese new year began. better go get it checked again

It's my year, too

(Metal Monkey here.)

And it'll my kiddo's year ( Again - she's due on April 25th).

A quick favor to ask:
Could someone who knows more about Chinese astro than me check and see if someone born at around 4 AM on 22 JAN 83 is of the year of the Dog or year of the Pig/Boar? The general consensus seems to be that that's still in the year of the Dog, but I've been getting conflicting answers.

22 Jan 83 is a Dog -- i know this because i did research for my brother, whose girlfriend was born 2 Feb 83 -- and even she's still a dog. that year switches over to Pig on 12 Feb 83.
hope this helps. kyle

Thank you very much Adam - that's what I thought. My husband's such a Dog (in...y'know...a good way). I didn't see much of the Year of the Pig in him.

HI Adam,

Welcome to LL - you'll get to meet a lot of interesting peeps here. I looked at your website and found it to be totally cool, and it brought back memories of Portland. Especially the poem about Burnside. Seems like forever since I have been back to good old PDX - even though I have made frequent trips to the Northwest.

Snakes are cool. I am a rooster and was married to a snake for a while. He was a sweetie, but he was also a Virgo / Gemini moon and me being a Sag with an Aries moon just didn't make for a super combination. We are best of friends though (when at times I didn't think it would stay that way).

Proxie,

Oh, you are soooo lucky to be having a little monkey baby!!! I LOVE monkeys!!! How are things going down there in Bama? I meet up with a friend a couple of weeks ago from Mississippi (his home town in right on the MS / AL border). What a crack up he is...and damn does he talk slooooooooooooow. LOL
