I just want your opinions. I love Linda Goodman but I didn't really liked how she described Virgos in Sun Signs. I think most astrologers focuse more on the bad things when describing virgos, how they are critical, naggy, and perfectinist. And after they are done with that, they make some little comments bout the good side of Virgo and thats it. But when I read other signs like Libra she focused more on the good things than the bad things.
And the thing that ****** me off is Virgos are always misunderstood and people think of them as boring and critical people.
I mean I think Virgos are more than that and that people dont really know them and how they are.
I dont know...what do you think?

I totally agree with you. Almost every virgo that I know are the most hilarious people, and are so much fun to hang out with. I find that I never agree with the descriptions of Virgo's in any book or site. Virgo's rock, man!

Well, I agree that Virgos are very critical, critize and they are perfectionist because I am and I have bunch of Virgo friends that are the same way too. But thats not what Virgo is really about. They don't spend everyday doing that. I think there is a lot to learn about virgos. In Love signs--Virgo woman-Capricorn man and in some parts of Virgo woman and Libra man, Linda explains Virgo better in some sections. She explains virgos dont spend their lives critzing everything and how majority of virgos are not housewives like most people would think they are. I think she should have explained this in Sun Signs more. I liked some things she wrote like "her spine is made out of stainless steal"..I think she spent most of the time critizing the virgo than focusing more on some of the good sides.
One day, I will write a book about Virgos and explain everything better.

I think that Virgo's can be some of the most outgoing, gregarious signs around. They love people and with a strong Mars placement can be very open and forthright.

But, in the same respect, combine that Sun with an Air moon or Cancer moon, you get someone that is either very detached or very moody.

Sometimes what we see on the outside - the outgoing person, is not the same person we get when we are alone with them. Virgo's can be very critical, because they want the best for their friends, mate, co-workers so they point out all our short comings as a way to help, but we take it as an insult.

It is similar to a Sag pointing out something like "Hey, did you put on 10 lbs" and a Virgo saying "Hey, I have a great new diet you should look into).

Virgo - how are you when you are home and with friends. Do you go through periods where you put yourself down for all the mistakes you made? The Virgo's that I have known seem to regularly beat themselves up over past mistake or not measuring up to what they think they should be at a specific time in their life.

At any rate, I think Virgo's are wonderful, yet complicated people.

Yes I put down myself a lot...all the time..maybe everyday about everything. My friends say I'm too hard on myself but I dont think so. I had to do a short performance on Hamlet by myself on stage and I was worried about it for a month and After I performed it everyone thought I was really good and said I should be in acting. Even tho I got all those comments I dont think I did my best and its been almost 3 weeks since I performed it and I'm still beating myself for it cause I don't think I did my best...

Then you should concentrate on what you did right. What did you learn from the experience? What changes would you make and why. Instead of looking at the bad, look at what you can do to make it better.

Virgo -

I have Venus & Pluto in Virgo, and I'm Libra Sun in the 5th, with the 5th House Cusp in Virgo!

I do well on the stage as well, and during speeches and presentations, tend to go over and over it. But not as much as I used to. It can become compulsive, and THAT can become a distraction!

Maybe the thing is Virgo is right to want to be right. But don't always know when to use moderation. It's difficult for them to accept help because they'll always know how to do something better anyways. For someone who is much more spontaneous and people-oriented like Aries Linda Goodman, it's no wonder it appears to be a tad unhealthy.

That's the important thing to consider. If it's causing you bad health. Just be sure to give yourself some time off to freefall...

I cannot resist this one. In my practice I am seeing a whole new kind of Virgo, no longer ruled by Mercury. Under the new ruler, Chiron this sign is "lifted up." Many have almost crystaline natures, so clear that they can see through to the Piscean/intuitive side of life. The big difference is the issues of guilt and perfection. New Virgos refuse guilt and know that they are already the perfect expression of their individual spirit.
............................................

Many Virgos work very hard at trying to be perfect. They can never "become perfect" because they already are "perfect, whole, complete." This sign is the spiritual equivalent of being a late adolescent. You have acquired your full stature and a basic education. All that remains is for you to put what you know into practice. Spiritually, you are practicing your new adult skills in a newly adult body. like any teen-ager, you may be a bit inept or make a few bad choices at first. Keep practicing. You will get better and better.

Most importantly, stop wasting time on guilt. It serves no purpose and arrests development. Put it on an altar and burn it. Forgive yourself and you will lose all inclination to criticize or project guilt on others.

Above all, stop allowing others to dump guilt on you. If necessary, get they out of your life.

You are a blessing and you are blessed.
