Hello Candida, I use secondary progressions, or day for a year. These are easy to do but tricky to delineate. As always I suggest you master the natal chart before attempting progressions. Main thing to remember is that a progression will not show you something thats not in your natal chart.
example: May 1,1994
10:30 PM
Las Vegas, Nevada
this year this person would be 10 years old so you add 10 days to the date of birth making it,
May 11,1994 Progressed birthday
10:30 PM
Las Vegas, Nevada
and cast the same as a natal chart. Aspect progressed planets to natal planets and angles this is good untill your next birthday. The moon on the other hand moves approximately 33 minutes per hour or 13 degrees per day, so you must adjust monthly. Get the moon time for the following year May 12, 1994 and subtract (sounds harder than it really is))
example Moon is 17 degrees 37 minutes aries on May 12th (for the following year)
on May 11 th (for this year) moon is 4 degrees 15 minutes aries
you subtract 4 degrees 15 minutes from
17 degrees 37 minutes which equals 13 degrees 22 minutes to be devided by 12 (12 months to a year) equals 1 degree 10 minutes 02 seconds this is the movement per month of the progressed moon. To be added every 30 days (remember when dealing with time and degrees you don't subtract from 100 but from 60. As in 60 minutes in an hour not 100)
In progressions the moon is used to time events and works when exact(a little leeway here) Especially important are the angles and house cusps.
A good book on the subject is "Delineation of Progressions" by Sophia Mason
