Wy don't you look it up for yourself? You think that just because you ask a question and make a question mark your only comment that anyone at all should even waste one brain cell to think of attempting to even bother to answer your question? Don't be so frikkin' lazy! Here's a novel idea: move your ass and go look it up yourself, and then come back and give an informed lecture to everyone on what you actually learned. It's called sharing, rather than not contributing a thing to your own or anyone else's learning. Sry to tell it exactly as it is, yet that's what we Virgs with Aquarian Moons do. Go earn your damn keep!Love, Carlo IP: Logged |

I'm completely ignorant about Progressions too, and as much as I try to contribute, I wouldn't post a general question about it being explained cuz it's just TOO MUCH STUFF.Archer - what will be more cool is reading what your understanding of it is. Maybe the way you word it will reach someone like me who has a difficult time with it. .gloria ------------------ it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness... IP: Logged |

Here's a couple of links for you.... http://www.artcharts.com/learn_astrology/progressed.html http://aquamoonlight.uku.co.uk/progressions.html http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_transits_e.htm?lang=p You can always do a search on... www.google.com 1. Search for "astrology" That will give you a zillion results..... So then scroll to the bottom of that page and you'll see you can search within the results...so put another search word in that option...that will narrow down the results making it easier for you to find what you're looking for. I would advise though that if you aren't fully understanding natal charts then to try to understand progressed charts at this stage is a "jump to soon". Anyway hope that helps....and don't mind Carlo...his barks worse than his bite....plus he's a Virgo and all "us Virgo's" are playing with Uranus now

Cat -Thanks for those links. I think I can do this now. I wish they would keep the rhetoric on explaining progressions to a minimum. It's so simple... Just remember this: There are two techniques of "predictions" you can do. Their validity or accuracy is up to you, so pick one, or try both to see for yourself ::::: Starting with birthdate, add: For Secondary Progression: 1 DAY for each year passed = SP For Solar Arc: 1 DEGREE for each year passed = SA Birthdate + SP Days = Target Date
Natal Degrees + SA Degrees = Target Degrees *(Add SA to each Sign & House for Target. Remember: If the total is over 30, start at 0 degrees in next Sign) Is this understandable? What do you think? .gloria IP: Logged |

Carlo Poor baby....(just kidding)...so Uranus is almost on your Sun hey? How're you finding that? I got that one to come but not for a while yet... It's next port of call (having just got off my Mercury and MC/IC) is my Venus...then Desc and NN. Thing's could get interesting PS: So your Sun conjuncts my Mercury, Venus, Asc, SN & and probably my Sun as well as it's part of my Virgo stellium (but my Sun's out of orb to your Sun...it's 15 degree) IP: Logged |

Hi Gloria Re: "For Solar Arc: 1 DEGREE for each year passed = SA" In theory "yes" ...but in practise "no" (if you want to be totally accurate - which you need to be if you're looking at forecasting). As planets slow down so the speed varies. Check on www.astro.com that will give you your exact placements re progressions, solar arc's IP: Logged |

OK got it...One of those links up there simply said it that way, but also added that the Sun moved APPROX one degree a year. OK... I'm sort of getting the concept it of it as well. So a Progression is like how I'm EXPERIENCING that particular day, whereas as a Transit is the EXTERNAL influences? IP: Logged |

Hi Gloria Yes to what you say...but thing's do get more complicated than that....but ya knew they would hey Always remember that everything stems from the natal chart - that is you and that will never change - it's your primal/basic instinct. Progressions are your growth (but you still can't forget the natal) Yes transits are influences.... However........ Stuff does happen when you get contacts between your natal and progressed chart (regardless of any transit) and also when SA come into play. So astrology is not just a chapter it's a book - containing lots of chapters. A good thing to bear in mind re astrology is always look for the "rule of 3" ie: if 3 things in your chart, ie: progressions, SA, transits, point to something happening.... then you've got lift off. Look on astro.com - use the additional (think that's the term) chart options...select chart type...there's a natal, progressions and solar arc combined option. That shows how your progressed/natal are dancing together and also how your solar arc/natal are working together. This will give you another dimension to what's happening in your life IP: Logged |

Carlo...I think I adore you...many posts inspire me to respond in your previous fashion, but I have not reached the point of honesty tempered with humor-so I stay silent. Cat...thank you for explaining how to use the chart function for progressions on astro.com. I must admit, progressions make my eyes cross.....Uranus is bothering us Virgos now? Just great.....I am going to whine "not fair not FAIR!" isnt it enough I am in the throes of a Saturn Return? heheheheh Thanks for the heads up.........

Yeah, thanks Cat...I've been using astro.com a million times, and even subscribe to them. I've tried many of those "Extended" options, and always wished I could do some of those other ones which you just explained. I love being a student... .gloria IP: Logged |

Cat -I was just at astro.com doing the Extended with Natal, Progression & Solar Arc. A wheel pops up and I have NO IDEA what I'm looking at or where to begin. Is there a link to get this through my thick skull? .gloria IP: Logged |

Hi GloriaOnce you have the chart on your screen ...look to the top right hand side just above the chart. There's another option...says something like "click to get additional info". This then takes you to another screen (adobe, acrobat reader). That then lists all placements, aspects etc - so easier to see, as I agree the actual chart is confusing when you first see it with every on it. IP: Logged |

hmm...i have analyzed what i have been reading here [what else would a virgo do?] and it seems to explain a lot {{{(O.o)*}}}but i try to be nice; no sense hurting anyone's feelings now, is there? and you had better be nice to me, because i have cancer rising and my feelings are VERY sensitive. hey, no one is perfect. i laugh now, but as a young teen, i was asked to go around to the ladies at my friend's mother's hen party and serve cream and sugar. very few women took any, and I TOOK IT PERSONALLY! they don't like my cream and sugar...they don't like me then...i felt so rejected that i left and went home! sigh. like i said, be nice to me. i am not QUITE so sensitive these days, but you never know really with whom you are dealing. A lot of us are sensitives here. In fact, the ones who act like are not, are the true softies. The cool thing is, if you are angry at someone here for whatever reason, you can say it! And if you're dealing with something difficult, you can talk about it! .gloria & + Knowflakes ------------------ it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness... IP: Logged |
