Isn't the actual definition of 'stigmata' basically a fanatical/spiritual religious manifestation of bleeding from the hands/wrists associated with Christ on the cross?I have a small birthmark,on the back of my leg.. it is whiter than the rest of my skin, just above the alcove of my knee. And lots of moles. ( My mom called them 'beauty marks'*Thanks mom!* .) IP: Logged |

There you go! YOU, girl - have a stigmata.A few months ago I told this girl she had an angel on her shoulder blade cuz she had a little brown mole there. And she DID always act like she'd been stabbed in the back, no matter what. I never got the chance to tell her, his name is Charles. The angel. IP: Logged |

Here's a definition of the word I looked up since I was unfamiliar with this usage of it: stig·ma n. pl. stigmata or stigmas
- A mark or token of infamy, disgrace, or reproach: “Party affiliation has never been more casual... The stigmata of decay are everywhere” (Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.). See Synonyms at stain.
- A small mark; a scar or birthmark.
- Medicine. A mark or characteristic indicative of a history of a disease or abnormality.
- Psychology. A mark or spot on the skin that bleeds as a symptom of hysteria.
- stigmata Bodily marks, sores, or sensations of pain corresponding in location to the crucifixion wounds of Jesus, usually occurring during states of religious ecstasy or hysteria.
- Biology. A small mark, spot, or pore, such as the respiratory spiracle of an insect or an eyespot in certain algae.
- Botany. The receptive apex of the pistil of a flower, on which pollen is deposited at pollination.
- Archaic. A mark burned into the skin of a criminal or slave; a brand.
I was also only familiar with it in regards to the crucifixtion story.
I have a birthmark on my thigh (that's whiter than the rest of my skin which is pretty pale anyway, lol) which has been described as being in the shape of Cuba.

True, astro junkie. But I'm originally from Miami, and my father is originally from Cuba although he's a US citizen now. I really like the synchronicity of it. ------------------ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi IP: Logged |

Oh dear, this is embarassing. I am absolutely awful with dates and I can't find where I have that information written down. I do know for sure that he came over sometime during the latter years of the Eisenhower adminstration though, and Chicago was were he first settled down and met my mom. Thanks for being interested, btw. ------------------ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi IP: Logged |

I have this starburst shaped cluster of capillaries about half an inch in diameter on the inside of my left ankle. I always liked to think I was marked as a starchild! ------------------ He not busy being born is busy dying :::Bob Dylan IP: Logged |

Hence, you got the name Eleanor...? (Spanglish) Harpyr - do you have blood problems? Does it look like red veins going out like a sun? Or is it from an injury there? Do you have a digital camera?

... well ...i think of the placement being where something happened in a previous life... this girl who had the mole had i not met her and just saw a photo of her back i would have said the same thing although i'm not !oo% sure i would have chosen the name charles it just matched her so exactly that she thought i was the devil incarnate soon to be followed by a dramatic event and resentment when you "didn't care" you WANT to help but you've been down that road before so you keep your distance to me it was like i knew intuitively how to reach her "hi nice to meet you - by the way - there's a guardian angel just under your left shoulder blade." "there's a WHaaaAT????????? "there's a guardian angel just under your left shoulder blade." "is that a BAD thing?" "no! it's a good thing your left side rules death and you have a guardian angel on that side." "so... what does that mmeeeeeannnnnn?" IP: Logged |

astro junkie You're a trip! Actually, my RL name is not Eleanore. I chose this name for this forum while I was reading "The Silmarillion" by J. R. R. Tolkien. Elanor is a *Sindarin word that refers to a yellow, star-shaped flower that grows in Lorien, and afterwhich Samwise's first daughter was named. It has a beautiful connection to the story of Luthien and Beren. I changed the spelling because I didn't like the numerological vibration (23 ... I'm a Sag so not the best for me) to Eleanore which is a very nice (33). *One of Tolkien's elven languages. ------------------ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi IP: Logged |

i'd wager there's always at least one star or two that hangs around these parts. the starburst does't so much radiate out from the center as it is more of a web-like pattern. i don't have have blood problems, aside from mild anemia and it's not a wound since it's been there as long as i can remember. it's rather light colored and inconspicuous really. it's resembles the tiny red veins that seem really close to the surface of the thin skin of an elder. if that makes any sense. i wish i still had a digital camera. one day i put it on the roof of my car and drove off. Hey, Harpyr, one of my best friends has something exactly how you describe behind her ear (left I think). No one knows exactly what it is, but the Dr's say it's probably just some kind of birthmark. Cool. astro junkie That does seem to be a pattern, here, no? There are lots of stars here in my eyes ... NeptunesLittleGem Bats rock! That's such a cool birthmark to have. ------------------ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi IP: Logged |

Autumn Wind -You have a "... a 1 1/2 inch birthmark on (my) right butt cheek..." Do you have any strong Cancer or Sag influences in your chart? Why did you call it "gunk-gunk"? Cute! Juniperb- I'm crazy about freckles like that. LOVE them! .gloria IP: Logged |

do all the moles on ur body mean something?i mean is it only the birthmark which has a meaning or do moles also mean something? and is it necessary that they have a link to the past life? IP: Logged |

I believe moles also have links to past lives, as in the example I put up there.IP: Logged |

I don't know how many past lives you've had, and if certain things seem to resonate with you in this lifetime for which you have no explaination, it could be from past lives. It's usually not that difficult to have a "memory" when something triggers it, like if you strongly relate to certain things since you were a child and on through adult years. It's not a matter of how many past lives, but that there's usually a running theme through all of them. Trust your own instincts first, and then see if it corresponds with any clues from your astrological chart. Your South Node can provide clues, and I happen to think (my personal opinion) that the Asc has something to do with it as well. Then look to the body parts which relate to those and see if something clicks. There can also be memories regarding how you relate to others or people you've "met before", and then another kind of memory which has to do with the physical, such as what happened to your physically. This is how it's worked for me personally. IP: Logged |
