Came across this cool article and it occured to me our clock has 12 positions and in Astrology, there are 12 Houses. Don't know why I never really thought of it.

This ties in with Sacred Geometry, which I've read a little bit about in reference to the human body. Here is more in reference to Astrology, as well as beautiful artwork (Mandala's) based on it:
www.widgetsworld.co.uk/search/go.php?art_id=1891

Also, curious to see any further connection with the clock & Houses, by which hours of the day (waking hours) you may feel most energetic, and most tired. See if it falls into a House or Sign greatly influencing your Natal chart.

Example:

I'm most tired at 3pm. = Gemini (or 3rd House)
I'm most energetic at 9pm = Sagittarius (or 9th House)

My Asc is Taurus 29.48 degrees (arguably in Gemini to many who know me). The Asc deals with the public image, which the thought of makes me tired!

As for 9pm/ Sag / 9th House - I basically have a Conjunct Jupiter & Saturn in Capricorn in the 9th, and the ruler of my 9th House is Capricorn.

See what you come up with...

Hmmm. Well there actually used to be thirteen signs, but they cut out the sign of the Dragon when we made the switch from matriarchy to patriarchy, going from the female number of 13, to the male number of 12. (13 being female b/c there are 13 full moons in a year- the moon is female b/c it cycles every 28 days and so do women.) So I'm pretty sure we'd have 13 hours on a clock were we still a bunch of pagans.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm intrested to hear anyone elses thoughts on this!

I was always led to understand that the thirteenth sign was/might have been Arachnia (the spider) but not having total past life recall, guess that could be wrong too - LOL

Did we have 13 hours on the clock?? Yes we did have 13 months of the year and as just quoted that was due to the moons cycles. each month was exactly 28 days!! something to do with the Draconian calendar i always thought, but again - I could be so terribly wrong.

I find all this stuff fascinating, oh wouldn't it be wonderful to travel back in time to really know what did (and didn't) go on!!!

BTW Astro Junkie, here are a few more connections to the 12 thingy

the 12 disciples (actually 13 in total when you include Jesus) ! another connection to the number 13!!

12 members of a jury (actually 13 when you include the judge him/herself !!

a bakers dozen (which is actually 13 !!

12 months of the year (previously 13) !!

I know there's loads more of connections, but they slip my mind at the moment - can anyone think of any more?

This is really interesting. I also thought about the number 12 and how we have so many 12 related things. There's deffinetly something about that number and 13.. 12/13 hmm something to think about lol

I'm a morning person.. I can wake up at 7 am and be out the door in 5 min. My bf hates waking up early, he gets so cranky lol I'm gona check our charts. I always thought that might have to do with when you were born, whether it was day or night..but clock/houses makes sense to.

I have thought of this that is why i am sure there must be 12 planets ruling the 12 signs!
Maybe the rest of them will be discovered later...

I was searching around and came up with this info:

Still, something like 5,000 years ago, the ancient Sumerians began working with the number TWELVE. They perceived twelve Signs of the Zodiac—signs we still use today. They perceived twelve heavenly bodies in our Solar System, including, accurately, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, which cannot be seen without a rather strong telescope. And their governmental bodies were always composed of twelve individuals.

Sumerian politics eventually became Egyptian, Greek, and Roman mythology; and in those cultures’ tales of the gods, there were always twelve primary gods at a time. The myths tell stories of one god leaving the primary group and being replaced by another; that’s how important it was to have twelve gods seated in Olympus, or wherever.

More recently, Jesus chose to have twelve apostles—and, when one turned out to be a poor choice, the remaining apostles immediately hired a new replacement.

At a level closer to home, we humans (and all vertebrates) have twelve major joints in our bodies: two ankles, two knees, two hips, two wrists, two elbows, and two in the neck. AND 12 joints in our fingers, not couting the thumb

Now, presumably, someday we’ll realize that some higher number has a great significance to the human experience. Will it be number 16? Maybe number 24? or even the number 144? Who knows?
For now, it appears that the number TWELVE still has much to teach us. Remember, moving to Seven from Two didn’t put an end to Day and Night. It just allowed us to perceive additional, more subtle, phenomena... just as our present preoccupation with Twelve affords us.

TWELVE (12) is the number of completion and wholeness. 7 and 9 are levels of spiritual development each having their own properties.
After twelve you must do something that has not been done before to be able to understand or comprehend what is to come.
12 is just the beginning point. There is a great deal of information concerning this and much disinformation that runs on an agenda of againstness. Beware those that make enemies of other groups and people. Beware of the process of againstness. It leads to disillusionment and the belief in separation. These folks would have us all believe that wars are options of the very best and that we need to fight against others.

By taking in consideration the above and if we could understand the existence of one more higher but non-tangible "invisible" Choir (due to its nature) with three more Orders then we can start realizing why number TWELVE (12) is the most likely to be the number of the Angelic Orders.

Having in mind this non-tangible "invisible" Choir we can now say that there are four Choirs of Angelic Orders and they deal with everything in existence from humans, to the workings of the universe.
In each Angelic Choir there are three Angelic Orders (4x3=12) bringing up the number of the Orders to twelve. So now we can say that there are 12 Orders of Angels. Each order presents' an awareness or gift to human kind.

The twelve orders or realms relate to mankind as densities of energy or fields of reality. The human form or body was intended to be created in the likeness of the Holy Twelve, the twelve Orders of Angels and the twelve Angels of The Presence.

Each order dwells, reign or govern a realm, heaven or plane of existence. A region or abode of an order of angels has been called, Yetsirah meaning formation. The formations were the first realms created from the emanations of the Source of the Whole of Existence. They are the chief domains or angelic realms. They were formed as twelve domains. The spiritual structure of each domain contains twelve orbs of light.

Each orb of light within a formation or domain is called, a Sefira or Sephira, which means an aspect or principal of the Source of the Whole of Existence or a portal of light. Cabalistic tradition speaks of the ten portals of light that are the doorways of eternity. In actuality there are twelve. In combination, all twelve are called the Sefiroth or Sephiroth. These twelve portals of light combine aspects or principals of the source of the Whole of Existence within each.

All forms are made up of their own combined energies or Sephiroth. The Sephiroth is also known as the Tree of Life. It is explained in scriptures that the Tree of Life has twelve braches and resides in the center portion of a living being next to or alongside of its "river of life". This would be the center area, portion or position of any living being. http://www.steliart.com/angelology_angelic_orders_12.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_(number) - very informative read in here.

As far as AJ's question, each day varies for me. Usually though, my most energetic time is Lunch time - around noon. as far as less energy, i think i would have to say about 3/4pm or after work - 4:30pm. Taking those into consideration:

most energy at noon - 12th house is Sag

Least energy - 3rd house is Pisces (equal) or Taurus (placidus) while my 4th house is Aries (equal) or Gemini (placidus)
I'm still trying to find the house system that fits me best, right now it seems to be teetering between equal and placidus, somethinggs add up in placidus where they dont in equal and visa-versa

AJ - you've inspired me to look for more #12 connections.

Found this as well in regards to numerology:

121, 112, 1221, 2121, 2211, 1122 - If you are repeatedly seeing combinations of 1's and 2's, this is a message that our thoughts are like seeds that are beginning to sprout. You may have already seen some evidence of the fruition of your desires. These are signs that things will and are growing in your aspired direction. Keep the faith!

The Number 12
__________________________________________________________________

The Sacrifice - The Victim
__________________________________________________________________

One will periodically be sacrificed for the plans or intrigues of
others. The number 12 warns of the necessity to be alert to every
situation, to beware of false flattery from those who use it to gain
their own ends Be suspicious of those who offer a high position, and
carefully analyse the motive. Although duplicity is not always present,
forewarned is forearmed. There is a degree of mental anxiety, caused by
the need to sacrifice personal goals to the ambition of others. A
secondary meaning of this number should be considered. The figure 1 is
the teacher (whether it be a person or Life itself). The figure 2 is the
kneeling submissive student. Sometimes, the result of severe emotional
stress and mental anguish creates amnesia, forgetfulness of lessons
previously learned. 12 represents the educational process on all levels,
the submission of the will required and the sacrifices necessary to
achieve knowledge and wisdom, on both a spiritual and the intellectual
levels. When the intellect is sacrificed to the feelings, the mind will
be illuminated with the answers it seeks. Look within for the solution.
Attention paid to the requirements of education will end suffering and
bring success.
