I remember you saying your Asc. is Aries, but because of it's placement you think it's more like Gemini... does that sound about right?Well, I think I have the same thing going on... I dunno. Astro.com puts my Asc in Gemini(4) venusgroup.com puts it in Aries(25). The rest of the plantes are the same. I'm confused. Is there one system that is more acurate than another? Why is it that just the Asc. is different between the two charts? IP: Logged |

I have the same problem LibraSparkle. Sometimes asrologers and computers tell me I have Libra rising, sometimes they tell me I have Virgo rising. I've never gotton a straight answer. Go figure.IP: Logged |

Actually, I said my Asc is in Taurus at 29.48 degrees, which makes it about 1/2 a degree from Gemini, the next sign over.Seems strange that they jump from Aries (March/April) to Gemini (May/June). That's a wide variance and I'm not sure why. Maybe they use different ways of analyzing the charts, like there's Placidus and Equal House, and I don't know enough about all of those to explain it, but I'm sure someone else will help. I've gone to several other sites that offer free Natal Charts and all but venusgroup.com gives me Gemini(4.01).Something screwy about venusgroup.com, I guess. IP: Logged |

I can tell right away if you are a Virgo rising, do you like to fix or make things? Virgo risings love to do things that require concetration and study. Libra risings are much more social. In some cases you have to be subjective. Natasha Taurus IP: Logged |

LibraSparkle Generally, problems with the Asc are caused by different programs not calculating for daylight savings time and the fact some areas of the country have it and some don't. I have found www.astro.com to give identical results with my astrology program and the calculation for daylight savings time is automatic. IP: Logged |

Hmmmm. I am definitely not social. Neither do I enjoy making or fixing things. My ability to concentrate is nill at best. *sigh* I give up.Jwhop ~ I've thought that too. That particular site tells me I have libra rising. I don't FEEL like a libra anything. Also that would place my mars and uranus on the ascendent. That doesn't feel right either. LibraSparkle ~ which ascendent feels right to you? My heart goes out to you. I feel like an astrological orphan. IP: Logged |

TINK Surprise, I see the possibility of Libra Rising for you. If you want to check another site that has accurate data---at least it has proven so in the past, you can go to this site and enter your info. Same for LibraSparkle. http://www.astro-software.com/cgi-bin/astro/natal IP: Logged |

LibraSparkle Not calculating for Daylight Savings Time would throw your birth time off by an hour. That's enough to change your Asc. Most of the better sites and programs have calculators that adjust for those states that always remain on Standard Time and also take into account that in the past, Daylight Savings Time or War Time was a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes it was on and sometimes it wasn't. If you were born in Arizona, the calculators should have taken the standard time used by the state into account and calculated your Asc accurately. Why don't you send Lanny (illog) your birth info and ask him run it for you? You can't get an accurate sign/house placement without the right Asc. IP: Logged |

Thank you for the link Jwhop. It voted for Libra. Who knows? Maybe my Scorpio sun roughs up that smooth Libra charm because that I surely don't have. I do have dimples though. I think the jury will be forever out.IP: Logged |
