I have every mutable sign represented in my chart. Whilst this confers upon me a degree of flexibility and creativity, it also confers upon me the most incredibly fickle MOODS. I am not talking about just getting in a mood from time to time here, I'm talking about the type of highly intense moods that change - just like THAT - and back again - from ONE MINUTE to the next. Seemingly, they're uncontrollable, as I ride the crest of my emotions. I'm told my moodiness is unacceptable, and I can appreciate that - but I also almost wilfully don't do anything about it because of my NEED to experience the highs and lows - the idea of being emotionally stable would worry me, as I shy away from "normalcy" (Sun opposition Uranus???).
Currently, I'm going through a phase where I am reassessing my values, and wonder if I know what I think half the time. Again, I think this vacillation is due to the strong Mutable sign influence in my chart. Has anyone else got a similar chart?
I also tend to attract people with lots of planets in Fixed signs. Maybe I need their stability, and they need my flexibility, and challenging behaviour! Although I read somewhere that Fixed signs can be moodier than Mutable signs. Any advances?
My house positions and Aspects are below. Are there any specific stressful aspects which would point to extreme moodiness??!

Planets in houses:

Virgo Ascendant, Sun/Merc in Aries (8th house), Moon/Venus/Jupiter in Pisces (6th house), Mars/Saturn in Gemini (10th house), Pluto in Libra (1st house), Uranus in Libra (2nd house), Neptune in Sag (3rd house).

Aspects:

Sun sxt Mars/Saturn, Sun opp Uranus, Moon cj Venus/Jupiter, Moon sq Neptune, Moon opp Ascendant, Merc tr Neptune, Venus cj Jupiter, Venus sq Neptune, Venus opp Ascendant, Mars cj Saturn, Mars tr Uranus, Mars sq Pluto, Jupiter sq Neptune, Saturn tr Uranus, Saturn sq Pluto, Neptune sxt Pluto.

- Does anyone else have similar experiences, and if so, what do YOU do to tackle YOUR moods? I'm told the Moon is prominent in my chart. I don't disbelieve that for a second!

ariestiger,

I don't have anything to offer you in the way of astro advice, but....

have you ever given any serious thought to practicing yoga, or meditation, visualization, and the like?

Also, I would recommend doing as much as you can to destress and regain stability through means such as....

acupuncture, acupressure, massage, etc....

These things can REALLY make a huge difference in you being able to quiet your inner conflicts so that you can possibly see things much more clearly.

Well, it's just a suggestion.

I practice / have practiced some of these things, and everything which I have done so far has truly worked wonders for me.

You are talking to someone who was extremely moody growing up. I gave up the habit by the time I was 30.

Just work on presentation. There are people who make a living as image consultants, like for public speakers or whoever. And just appreciate it more, the fact that you have a quick mind. What's tiring you out is letting your emotions go for a ride.

So somehow explain to yourself and then others whenever you're ready, that you're working on being less quickminded...

I didn't even look at your planetary positions because that's the first answer that came into my head.

Fixed signs are just as moody only it takes longer to get out of it, and into it. They need life experiences to find their niche and so do not get over their moodiness until much later in life.

Who is telling you it's "unacceptable"? Since when is an emotion wrong? Emotions are natural and do not make a person unstable, emotions were given to us for a reason and nobody went crazy because they had a mood. The only challenge with moods is finding out why you don't like them? Who are they hurting? Can you work with them? Why destroy a natural resource?

if you were a great singer and it got on your husband's nerves would you stop singing or have an operation to keep from speaking?

A little extreme but why bother changing nature? Some people just are moody, they won't change and if they are just going to change back, what is the problem?

Speaking as a Cancer Moon/8th house

moodiness is more of a water sign trait, don't forget the planets that fall in the water houses (4, 8, and 12) they apply also.
Curiosity, changeability and fickleness is more of a mutable trait.
Water signs live and sometimes wallow in thier moods, highs and lows. Its life as they know it, They sometimes battle depression.
Mutable signs (exception is pisces) generally like being up. Positive by nature (virgo is so so) they really don't like dealing with negativity. Its just as easy to look on the bright side as to imagine and prepare for the worst.
Positive thoughts bring positive action
Negative thoughs bring negative action
My asc. is mutable, the only time I get moody is if I'm sick or very tired. But I can go from excited to contemplative like that *snap* but my mood hasn't changed just the subject.
