Wondering...if someone had, for instance, Mars in Cancer, squaring someone elses Saturn in Aries, would this make the square less stressfull, being that Mars rule Aries? The Mars energy, although not able to express in it's Arien fashion in Cancer, might find common ground with a planet in Aries, just because the energy is so simular. Would this make the square easier, or would it make it even more pronounced, do you think?

Lioneye, can you make this question clearer? I don't know it would be less stressful but my theory would be that it would create a lot of friction. is this a man and woman?

This is a Mars/Saturn friction so they would have issues over things that are ruled by Saturn and Mars. Saturn rules Capricorn, stability and focus. Mars rules freedom to express anger or sexuality or even freedom, and how it is expressed. The couple may have different values or express these energies differently.

I could theorize more but I would need more info.

Sorry, Natasha...what I meant was, when you have a harsh aspect in synastry (or even in a natal chart), is it possible for the negative effects of the aspect to be decreased by a good sign-to-planet commonality?

for instance, Sun in Taurus squaring Venus in Leo.
Moon in Aries squaring Mars in Cancer.

After thinking about the orginal example I posted above, I started thinking, to have Saturn in any given sign, is to feel blocked in terms of the expression of that sign. So, to have Saturn Aries, you may have great difficulting in asserting yourself, or a lack of confidence when challenged. You may dread intitiating anything new, or blazing a trail of your own. In otherwords, you're AFRAID of Arien energy. So, to square someone's Mars with this Saturn, well it's probably not good. Harsh aspects to somebody's Mars probably makes that Saturn feel even more insecure...at least until one has begun to master their Saturn lessons.

So, in the case of Saturn, it wouldn't be easier, it would be even worse...I think...maybe. Does that make sense to you?
