Um... did he go by here. He isn't here any longer.. though some are happy about it, and others relieved, and mind you, it is less controversial... but I miss the little bugger. He had lots of good sides. I'm not a minority, but also not a majority, I just didn't believe all the hype he tried to feed..... I took him with a grain of salt.IP: Logged |

I placed my order, thanks AJ! Here is what I found out about the book on another web site:Book Description Carlo E. Ravin is a self-styled Aquarian Age herald, and, like his contemporaries, is dedicated to furthering the era’s mandate of Knowledge for All. Like Voltaire, the author intends ultimately that nothing enfranchises like education. Love Conquers All is partly a sequel to Venus Trines at Midnight by Linda Goodman, and contains a collection of modern astrological poetry inspired by this great poet and astrologer. Often playful and puckish, at other times introspective and inquisitive, and sometimes bold and brash, the works within examine archetypal and allegorical themes, events, and characters, and, like Venus Trines at Midnight, is seeded by the word druids and guided by God/dess. Ravin muses and fuses the two languages, arts, and sciences of Astrology and of Love, to explore and to celebrate circumstance, environment, film, and literature through poetry. Love Conquers All is at once a poetic commentary on la agrodolce vita in turn-of-the-century America, a primer and study guide for the astrology student who yearns for an expansion of the boundaries of astrological expression, and a faithful companion for the knapsack of the humble 21st century traveler and troubadour…in essence, it is a book for you. Join the author in his merry and facile footnoting of a New Millennium of Truth, Beauty, Laughter, and Love, since, after all, love conquers all.

Poor soul has a Moon in Aquarius, so he wasn't too much of a problem for me. I have MC & South Node in Aquarius. I guess I was one of us who understood his twisted humor, emphasis on "twisted". Which I guess, would make me twisted too... So sue me... I'll be getting a copy of the book too, and then we can do a "book review" thread for it. It was fun doing those "Opposite Signs" poems anyways. .gloria ------------------ it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness... IP: Logged |

Very, very cool I miss him sometimes, tending to be out of sight during his more brash episodes. He was always cool to me, even helping out with a very good freebie interp regarding my sis's chart. *considers buying a copy, remembering his lyrical wiles* IP: Logged |

Cool!Sometimes the things he said made me bristle...but that was his intent. Generally I didn't mind him, he was funny and unique. I hope his book does very well. IP: Logged |

Get this. He and I have near identical charts. And he made my blood boil with his offensiveness and vugarity because it was always directed specifically at another know-flake. I wish he would have resisted that lower impulse. I fight it myself all the time. IP: Logged |

Prox -Or get to the bookstore and sample it to see if you'll like it. Maybe there's something he's been holding out from us!!! (damn - maybe we should all bug him for autographed copies) Please - everyone - as far as all that history goes, please let's start over - he may come back and read all this stuff we're writing, so best to give him his much deserved accolades, and have one last sexless orgy for good times sake... (told ya I was twisted) Nothing is more exciting to a writer than being published and having a good public reception. CONGRATULATIONS CARLOS - if you read this - from the little people if you remember us ... (like a pretzel, I tell ya) ------------------ it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness... Prox - How about the library? You can request it. I'm able to access my library's index online. Can you? The ISBN is : 0595663850 on that. Pixie -
Didn't someone mention something about your work being in the book? Or was that the Web site only? Wouldn't it be funny, it if WAS it in the book!! You'd have to buy a copy!! Either way, his dedicating the book to Linda Goodman would make it important to this thread, in any case. He'd said he was a member for a long time, yet rules were meant to be broken sometimes... Some rant... IP: Logged |

I miss him.I feel he would feel stifled if he came back.... would want to 'act out' or be afraid to be who he is. Not 'afraid', afraid.. but he would make it a point to stay away, to punish, I think.... It's a shame. (It's also a shame that I am not expressing myself correctly.) IP: Logged | |
