Hi all,
I have Saturn in Virgo and in my 12th house. The only aspect it forms is a conjunction with my ascendant which is in Virgo. I was wondering what I need to learn from such a Saturn placing, and what strengths may result all in all. Any thoughts please?

If you need my birthchart info to help with this info its at:

in my search for info, I stumbled across this interesting tidbit for virgo rising, it seems to be true for me since I was born 6 dayslate (I was supposed to be born on the same day as my dad!) Just curious also if any other virgo risers have similar experiences? Thanks.

Saturn rising is often associated with a difficult or delayed birth, as if the baby is reluctant to come out and enter into the world. Perhaps this infant is controlling the situation from the word 'go', or on some level feels he / she needs to. In any event, the caution about and fear of greeting the world naked and exposed seems to persist throughout much of life.

Hi libra78,
Yes this is also true for those with Capricorn rising or Saturn conj. the Asc. or in the first house.
I have Cap. rising, and this describes my birth well and the feelings held by family members surrounding my birth. My mother was shamed and made to feel very awful when she got pregnant with me. She was raised in a strict Irish Catholic family and got pregnant very young and was not married to my father. This was a BIG no-no. And they sent her to live far away out of their own embarassment. Blah, Blah, I won't go into the whole story, but I think you will relate to this having Saturn on the ASC.

A person with Capricorn on the ascendant can be quite serious and old before his time, for he is not able to take matters lightly. He may even have graying hair early in his life. As a child he appears must self-sufficient and mature, yet there is a lack of security inherent in the personality. He will carefully conceal any pain he feels so no-one would know he is needy in any way. His proper behavior is a façade that protect him. He has somehow steeled himself against the world with a stoic attitude. He secretly wishes he could let down his walls, but he simply doesn't know how. He may be dying for someone to look past the barriers he erects and show the warmth and reassurance he so badly needs. He may be judgemental, cool, and aloof just at the very time he craves affection most. His defensiveness protects him in a strange way. He can seem chilly when he is anything but that.

This ascendant describes someone who has assumed the burdens of all those around him early in life. It may be entirely subconscious, yet he has what is called an 'Atlas complex'. He desperately needs to be needed. Therefore it is better to be needed by someone than by no-one at all. He can overload himself to the point where he is under tremendous pressure, yet he is motivated by assuming responsibility, perhaps to the breaking point. He tends to wear the 'hair shirt' and is masochistic to some degree. The more he beats himself up, the more he can justify his existence. Deep insecurities stem from early childhood; he feels rejection on a very basic level. It is more than likely that this rejection comes from before his birth, when he felt unwanted by one or both parents.

The interesting complexity of one with this ascendant comes with his decisions about survival. Since the ascendant describes the conditions of birth - the initiation into the earth plane - as well as the conclusions derived due to these circumstances, habits formed at the very first moment can precondition life behavior. Unfortunately, patterns are established before accurate analysis of a situation is possible. These patterns and decisions may be re-examined later on, but until that time, the photographs made early in life set the stage. The birth decisions are especially strong for one with Capricorn rising. The feeling of rejection can seriously inhibit him throughout his life. The birth process itself, for one with this ascendant, is particularly long and drawn out. It appears that one with Capricorn rising is reluctant to come into the world at all.

During regression sessions, the standard memory for one with Capricorn on the rise, or with Saturn in the first house, is that of dreading entry into the world. It is as if he sees the conditions that await him and decides to put off confronting them as long as possible. The resistance to birth is so strong that many individuals with this ascendant recall a feeling of digging in the heels until fatigue set in. The reality of having no way out and no choice in the matter forced him to give in and be born. This extreme dread of life seems primarily concerned with the feeling of not being wanted. Rejection spells lack of safety, with no-one to depend on but oneself.

Thanks 26Taurus, yea I have both the saturn conj asc and virgo rising. good to know Im not alone! I don't know what the story is around me, I was probably just aware of the troubles of the world or something, and was chilling in the womb for a little longer, or I was just stubborn and didnt want to be born on the same day as my dad as everyone expected

Hi libra,

I found loads of info. for you. Be sure to check out the links below.

Just want to add that the Nodes are points in our chart that show where we need to head in life. The North node is the direction our life is heading, the direction we should take. The lessons we need to learn to create harmony and balance in our lives. The South node symbolizes lessons from past lives we have carried into this life. Oftentimes we revert back to these habits from the past because they are easier and more familiar to us.
We are working towards the qualities of our North node and the energies that occupy the house in which it is in.

(for North Node in the first house)
Person must develop his own initiative and his own personal power. Has relied too much on other people in the past, and has been dependent on or dominated by others. Now he must hew and carve out his own destiny. Through his own efforts and his own actions, he will gain the confidence and self-reliance he needs.

go here: http://groups.msn.com/interpretations4/northnodein1st.msnw

(node in Virgo)
North Node in the sign of discrimination and purity shows these are the qualities that will lead to growth and progress in this life. The hidden 'Christ within' must be expressed through service. South Node in Pisces would show past tendencies of escapism, copping out of responsibility; and it would be easy to follow that pattern in this life, for the tendency could be there unless the rest of the chart showed differently. Senses and sensuality have been strong in the past; now the higher senses must prevail.

Interesting,
I totally forgot about the hard birth but its true.
I was a 10 month baby (I should have been a Pisces) And they brought my mom in to induce. The meds wern't working and she hadn't started her labor yet so they were concidering a c-section. Another lady down the hall who was in labor started screaming and scared my mom (she was so naive, she thought she was dying) So my mother jumped to run and help her and I dropped. I have Saturn in the 1st. I wonder what Pixies moms birth with her was like? she has Saturn there too. Pixie?
Interesting and thought provoking thread.

Yes, quite interesting LaLa.
I also thought of Pixie, since she has Saturn in the 1st, it would be interesting to find out.

I was always a painfully shy child.

I remember my mom telling me that when I was born I barely cried, I just looked at everyone with these HUGE brown eyes - had a full head of black hair - and the nurses used me as the baby they used to show the other new mothers how to properly hold and bathe their new babies. I was "so good" she says. Not an overly happy baby, I was just quiet and stared at people.

I would say Cap. rising has given me a serious persona to people who don't know me. It is getting better as I get older. I seem to be lightening up now. I was a very serious child.

They say this rising sign acts younger at fifty than they did at twenty.........uh - oh!

Oh, also what is your rising sign? I'm curious. Or did you mean you were supposed to be Pisces rising and instead are Aries rising?

26T,
I was expected on March 12 but didn't make it untill April 9
I have a Sag Asc.
Capricorn rising doesn't let go untill they're middle-aged. They grow up to be responsible.

Funny that you mentioned me, thanks....
I saw this thread, and was going to coment on my birth, but I didn't....
From what I know.....
I am a second ( and last, actually) child. My mom (She's a Capricorn)had my brother (also Capricorn) through natural childbirth... and me as well. I think because I am a second child, so her body knew what to do... I was apparently an easy birth. I don't know how long she was in labour for... but I believe it was just on the quick side of a typical labour.
On the other hand, I had a long long long long labour with my first child..... he was occiput posterior.. facing the wrong way, and my midwife didn't do much, honestly.. three days in labour. The pushing part was nothing though.. forty five minutes....
My daughter though was a typical birh. Twelve hours of labour, no pushing at all.. she came in like three pushes. Natural. ( Don't want to prove to myself I can do it again... so no more babies, if I can help it)

26Taurus.....thank you so much for all of that info! I am Gemini with capricorn rising and born on the 8th by a Cappy mom. So much saturn...my name is also an 8! Needless to say it was a difficult birth ending in a c-section. I for sure did not want to come into this life, knowing it was going to be rough. For years, as a child I tried to figure out what this body-thing was all about and only felt free in it when dancing. Finally finding Linda and some others helped me understand that I had chosen all of this...she explained the 8 thing so well, and Saturn. I finally began to relax and even embrace the whole thing...that didn't begin to happen until I was nearly 40 though. I always love finding out more...knowledge is power...and then also, responsibility...as any cappy will tell you!

Blessings,

I've never had children so I'm sure my terminology is somewhat off, but my mom tells me I was almost born breach, somewhat late (a week or two), and tried to come out foot first (not feet - just one foot) - I guess I had to be flipped around. Saturn figures prominently in my chart, as I have a stellium sitting opposite it, and it's in direct opposition to Jup and Ven both in Scorp. Not sure if it really fits into this or not because Cappy is on the cusp of my empty 7th house, but the similarities are interesting.

SC - I felt the same way when I was a child, although I would add "running around in the woods" to dancing.

birth is signified by the 1st house.
sun and pluto. Birth of all kinds.

Moon tells about childbirth

Curious Pixie, your son has sun square saturn and my daughter the conjunction
He has moon, venus, pluto, jupiter and the node in Scorpio hmmm

my daughter has sun, venus, and pluto in scorpio with the sun and saturn in the 10th
Her saturn is in Sag and her moon is pisces.
did you notice the only signs involved were with Scorpio, Sag., Capricorn, and Pisces??

My mother was capricorn also, same as a few others here.

Isis your sounds like part of the pattern too venus and jupiter opposite saturn

Saturns child , you're birth sounds like mine, not wanting to be born.

Well girls, what have we figured out here??
Scorpio and Capricorn is prominate with breach births, hard aspects to the sun and saturn
Venus/Pluto or Venus/Jupiter/pluto in Scorpio show up. Pisces and Sag show up but not as prominate.
Mothers with Capricorn Suns or 1st house Saturns show up a lot with these births.

Any others?

Hi Saturn's Child,
Your welcome. It is all so interesting.
And hey! I am a double 8 too!!!

I was born on the 17th and my name equals and 8 (17) too!!!!!! It's been a long tough road. But I wouldnt change it for the world, it has made me who I am today.

Yes, once I embraced what Linda says about the 4 and 8 thing, things got easier. Also, do you notice that you are a 4 and 8 magnet!! I bet you do. It's fascinating.

LaLa -
My moon is in Virgo, 29th degree. They say this is also how the mother is percieved. My moon sign fits how I percieve my mother to a tee! She's the biggest health nut you will ever (I mean ever) meet, she's critical, anal, highstrung, blah, blah, blah. All things Virgo - the good things Virgo too. Although she's a Cancer Sun.
I love her so!!

Yes, 26 Taurus the fours and eights come to me in so many ways and forms....people, phone numbers, addresses, important dates, ie..meetings, etc. I embrace the eights and try very hard to avoid the fours. My experiences with fours have nearly all been extremely difficult...some tragic...but of course all provided a lesson for me. I sometimes am amazed at how the four and eights will find me!!
