I've only started learning about astrology less than half a year ago! But it is fascinating. I know my sun (Pisces), moon (Virgo), and rising/ascendant (Leo). I also know what the planets and houses are, however I'm not sure what it all means! If someone could just give me a brief little something, that would be great. I'm not sure what some of these things mean, as I said.

Sun Pisces 13.26 Ascendant Leo 2.21
Moon Virgo 14.50 II Leo 22.20
Mercury Aquarius 16.33 III Virgo 16.41
Venus Aries 27.02 IV Libra 17.34
Mars Capricorn 6.59 V Scorpio 24.24
Jupiter Aries 29.01 VI Capricorn 1.02
Saturn Capricorn 1.22 VII Aquarius 2.21
Uranus Capricorn 0.36 VIII Aquarius 22.20
Neptune Capricorn 9.48 IX Pisces 16.41
Pluto Scorpio 12.29 R Midheaven Aries 17.34
Lilith Leo 22.01 XI Taurus 24.24
Asc node Pisces 23.13 XII Cancer 1.02

Planets in the houses
Sun in VIII
Moon in II
Mercury in VII
Venus in Midheaven
Mars in VI
Jupiter in Midheaven
Saturn in VI
Uranus in V
Neptune in VI
Pluto in IV
Lilith in Ascendant

Bob Marks astrologer has some mighty good advice, in terms of how to determine the significance of houses and signs and planets... He has sections for all.
http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/

Do some studying, and read up on it, it grows infinately more compelling, the more you understand. Start with yourself, then get ahold of as many charts as you can, just to look at them. Do you understand the glyphs yet?

I also have a water Sun (Scorpio) an Earth Moon (Capricorn) and Leo (Fire) Ascendant.
No opposition between my Sun and Moon though. Doesn't that mean you were born during a new moon or something?

Welcome Lilith (love that name)
Its wonderful that you're so young and interested in astrology.
You were born on a lunar eclipse (full moon)
Start there.

First of all, thank you for that site. I have the lessons bookmarked, and I plan to go through them. Also, I was born on a full moon? That's nice. Does it mean something?

Full moon = Sun Moon oppositon. For a Sag that means Gemini Moon. Isn't your natal Moon conj. your Sun in Sag?

Hm, interesting. Also, someone asked about glyphs; like, the symbols? I can, for the most part, identify them. When I write a letter I usually end it with mine.

I checked out some books from the library last week: A History of Astrology, and The Only Way To... Learn Astrology, Vol 1. Both look interesting and beneficial, so I'll be trying to read through those this month.

Any specific texts that are recommended, particularly for beginners?
