Hi everyone,

I'm new at astrology, and was wondering what is the effect of having your Sun square to the Moon. My Sun, Ascendent, and Mars are all in Sagittarius. My moon is in Pisces and Venus in Scorpio. I read somewhere that this leads to a lot of conflict, especially the Sun and Moon. ?????

Hi. I have a similar aspect: Gemini Sun squared Pisces moon. Yes there is much conflict with sqaures, because the elements (fire, air, earth, or water) in a square are always conficting one another. Like you: Sag is a fire sign, and Pisces is a water sign. So what do you get when you add fire to water? It boils and evaporates. And water to fire? It extinguishes it. The element of the sign indicators it's general temprement - Sag is a fiery, lively, outgoing sign and Pisces a withdrawn, quiet and receptive sign. The key is to undertand how these two signs influence you and see how they conflict. For example: you may wish to be more adventrous, as Sags do, yet your Pisces moon may wish to stick to routines that are safe and secure. Then you end up feeling confused about what you what out of life and how to get it. This takes a bit of reflection to sort out and a bit of practice to live with, but there's always hope. Truth is, people with squared Sun-moon configs, if they choose to learn to live and work their inner conflicts, can be highly verstile, very broad-minded, emotionally aware and compassionate people, since they have an inner appreciation of the typical kinds of conflicts people face everyday, both within themsleves and with others. That's the good news - it just takes a bit of work to get there.

Deira,
This also describes conditions between your parents at the time of your birth, there were some problems. If the moon squares your asc. then your emotional responses don't jive with your personality.
