I didn't say that STD's weren't a factor. But we are talking about birthcontrol here not protection against disease. Birth control methods today are dangerous and cause serious problems in a womans body. Suppressing natural functions in the body is not the normal prosess of life. We need to work with our bodies not against them. My room mate whom I care alot about has serious problems from using birth control (Depo shot) and they caused irreversable damage. I am not against checking out your partner to see if they are infected with something. Procaution must be taken when you pass body fluids. Condoms are fine but you must also realize that some of these diseases can be transmited through the fibers of latex they are not 100% effective. It is just like any other chance you take if you don't do your homework and you play with fire you are going to get burned. And you may also get lucky and nothing will ever happen it is a chance you have to take. Or on the flip side the danger might not even be detectable yet and you think you are safe when you are not. People don't also realize that condoms aren't just for regular sex. Alot of people don't use protection for oral sex and catch the same disease that way. We all take our risks everyday. Public cleanliness is not one of our greatest accomplishments. Going to work now a days is a hazzard to your health. Biohazard that comes in contact with you, airborn virises, people that aren't clean. I don't know about you but I am a public servant I clean up this kind of thing. I work with sick people that could give me Hepetitis. You can't avoid the inevitable but you can take procautions. Having a baby or not having a baby should not pose a threat to your health. Birth control should be safe as well as effective. It also should not compromise your bodies natural functions. So keep your self clean, check your partners the best you can (AIDS is undetectable while it is also contagious for a length of time after contamination), but live life to the fullest and don't be afraid of what is around every corner. Also make sure the choices you make in life are your own or you might live to regret it. Everyone has their own path to follow we are only here to support and love everyone and everything. We both are only here to help and everyones advice is usually only our wish for the fullest and happiest life for someone we care about. We've all made mistakes and have taken a wrong road at least once but we can't save anyone but ourselves. Keep loving and caring we need your support Libra. Bless and keep you safe.

People in a committed monogamous relationship need birth control, too.

condoms are some men's biggest fear, why? I don't know why but there are 50 year old men who are still not into birth control.

People are just ignorant, at any age, so don't depend on your sexual partner to have a clue.
Where? How? When? It's all up to you, that you, not the you around the corner or the other you. I know we all have lazy moments, but finding a condom can't be that hard, even if it's not:>

Condoms are required for just about everything if there is a man involved, so don't be caught without. That doesn't mean buying a jumbo box and keeping it on your nightstand table, that's kind of tacky of course.

BUT if you are woman, let me say this once more,
get condoms yourself, don't be embarassed to buy them in stores, saves time and fuss later.

Condoms will not prevent all STDS and they break! So you have to ask yourself, do you feel lucky? If not why not???? Talk about this with someone or everyone until you feel better about your decision. Don't do spur of the moment, wait a year for that.

Sex is about being happy, bottom line.

If you don't feel joy about the decision, why not?

Have fun but fun means keeping it LIGHT!

In this string, we don't know if the poster is in a committed monogomous relationship... or her age for that matter.

Teenagers in committed monogomous relationships need to be concerned with STDs, not just pregnancy. Monogomous teenagers is pretty much an oxymoron. Eventually, they're going to be with someone else.

There are plenty of proven, nonhormonal options out there to choose from.

Plus... are you aware that sperm can live in the vagina for about 3 days? That means, even if you are using some kind of astrological method, you would have to plan it for three days out. If you have sex 2 days before you ovulate, you can still get pregnant... some of the spermies can still swim up and get to the egg. Not to mention the 10s of thousands of live sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid alone. So, even if you "pull-out" and use astrological birth control, you're still not covered.

Oh yeah, one more thing:

Planned Parenthood gives out FREE condoms by the bag full.

Astrobiology takes into concideration the life of the sperm. A good astrologer can give you your date of ovulation and tell you the dates you should be celebate to avioid pregnacy keeping this factin mind.
