I'm a beginner in chart reading and I was wondering about the eclipses coming up on October 14th & 28th. I believe I read somewhere that they especially affect us personally if we have a planet at within 2 degrees of the eclipse.

Where on my natal chart do I look to see if I have a planet within 2 degrees?

Thank You!

What if your birthday is on one of those dates? Any significance there?

Going through an eclipse should be met with a personal ritual on your part. Think of the energy of the Moon ending, and then beginning completely anew. Think of what you want to rid in your life, light a candle, meditate quietly during the eclipse. Very powerful.

It just makes the Sign the eclispe is under more inward, more subconscious, that's why you must be quiet inside.

If you were born on those days, do you know if there was also an eclipse that year you were born?

(... so the Earth must shake with her "Om" this year too - so add that to your ritual ... plastic cups for wine, no glass ...)

YAY, My birthday is on the 28th like Pixies, and I was also born on the total Lunar Eclipse. So my Sun is opposite Moon and my Moon is conjunct my North Node! They say it will be a time of spiritual enlightenment. I can't wait

Here's a little early birthday present for all you Scorp's affected by the eclipse. I did a litte research and came up with a few things that I am posting below.

BTW, I had an eclipse fall within a degree of my Sun a year or two ago (I forget now), but I know they are always, very important times - especially when they fall in conjunction with a natal planet....even more so with the natal Sun or Moon.

There were a lot of changes going on in my life at the time - a lot of sudden changes. Usually the eclipse doesnt affect you on the exact date it occurs. But somewhere within a week before or after....and I've also read to pay attention to the date exactly one month after the eclipse.

It is going to be an important time in your life over the next year. Expect a lot of changes and go with the flow. Because when it happens on your birthday, it does set up a whole scope of events for the coming year. Your solar return sun will be an eclipsed sun.

I couldnt find much info on this. But I dug up a few things and I will keep searching through my astrological books and papers to see what i can find. I know I have more info somewhere.......

Anyway, I hope you find this interesting or useful.

Eclipses
by C. Lichtenstein
There are two kinds of eclipses - solar and lunar - and both types stir you up. Eclipses bring on a period of instability when you feel you must react and take some type of action on outside changes. The secret is, of course, that the best action is little to no action. The eclipse brings on an exceptionally emotional time which begins ten days before and lasts for three days after the actual eclipse. The pressure may be on in business, love and money, but wait three days after the eclipse until the shadow of the eclipse is over before you act or decide on a course of action. An example - Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married in the shadow of the eclipse. It was no surprise to see all the unexpected and tragic things that have happened to them.

Do you want that new job? Are you ready to pick up and move to a new apartment? Have you fallen madly in love? That's great. That's what eclipses are for; to get the old blood pumping. But wait if you want things to work out. When the shadow of the eclipse is over, ascertain whether all that glitters is in fact gold. Then go for it... or forget it!

There are a number of articles here on eclipses: http://www.widgetsworld.co.uk/search.php

It is important for everyone to look at where eclipses fall in their own charts also. Look to the house(s) it falls in and major aspects it makes to the natal planets. Mostly just look at conjunctions or oppositions to planets.

If you have natal planets conjunct or opposite, below are keywords for planets conjunct and in opposition to the eclipse. Conjunctions are beginnings or matters that need to be address immediately. Oppositions are endings to current situations or relinquishing control.

Conjunctions

a. Sun- new beginning
b. Mercury –communication, contracts
c. Venus- love or money.
d. Mars-action
e Jupiter- travel
f. Saturn-responsibility
g. Uranus-freedom
h. Neptune-illusion
i. Pluto-transformation

Thanks so much for looking this up, and bumping it, 26T... How interesting......
As it is on my birthday, and I have natal conjunctions in Scorpio, this is what your forecast looks like for me.. in my fourth house...
a. Sun- new beginning
d. Mars-action
g. Uranus-freedom
Wow. I wonder what this will bring me. Kinda' scary, considering I am such a zig zagger.

Wow pix! I forgot you have those planets conjunct your Sun. I think the eclipses will be especially powerful for you.

Hi mysticme,

Look to see if you have any planets within two degrees of the eclipse degree or opposite those degrees.

I just realized that the October 28th eclipse will fall in conjunction with my natal Chiron in the third house..........hmmmmmm....?

I just clued in a little... is it Lunar Eclipses we are discussing? In which case, would it be the sign the Moon is in instead of the Sun, and it's correspondance to your natal?
In which case, I'm probably not as freakily affcted.. who knows.
Does anyone know what sign the moon will be in on the 28th? How do I find out, just astro.com?
I'll try that....

Hey Pixie,
The moon will be in Taurus. I was born on the lunar eclipse, when the moon was in taurus in 1985. The north node will also be the same as it was that day, 19 years ago. It's the exact configuration as it was the day I was born, I'm really excited! I'm a little nervous too, Should I expect something freaky to happen?

Yes, scorpbaby! I just looked it up too, and saw that.. neat stuff for you, I hope you'll keep us plugged in....
My Jupiter is in Taurus... but the last degrees.
so The Moon was almost exactly opposed your Natal Sun.. that's interesting.. The Moon will also be opposed my Sun on OUR birthday. I wonder what that'll mean for us, as well.

I been thinking about eclipses all my life! - lol Was born the day after a Solar Eclipse. Poor Pisces -- lol -- tho i did get a lot of north node conjunctions to keep me from losing my mind -- hehe.

This Solar Eclipse on 10-14 falls right on top of my Neptune & Part of Fortune conjunction in 11th. Could i actually be getting ready to fall in REAL love or something monumental like that? I also noticed that all three of my biorhythm cycles PEAK on that date. Hope i do the right thing --

The October 28 eclipse is exact (by degree) on my MC/IC axis (Scorpio/Taurus). Also have natal Sun, Mars, Neptune conjunct (in Scorpio), all within 3 degree orb of MC/IC. Eek!

I figure I will either finally get a job at the place I've been trying to get into for several months, or my house will be nothing more than a smoking crater when I get home from work that day. I'm just going to have to hope for the better of the two.

Hang on (scratches head) -
If my memory serves me correctly - wasn't there an eclipse earlier in the year, along with a blue moon?
On April 19th???
My birthday is April 18th.
And an eclipse is supposed to signify a period of spiritual enlightenment?
My Saturn Return was 2 years ago...
Heck, it's all coming at once...
