OK, so I've been trying for the last hour to try to figure out how astro.com calcuated my Part of Fortune at 11 Gem 47 by doing it manually to confirm that, using the formula provided by Horoscopechat (here: http://groups.msn.com/horoscopeschat/partslots.msnw ) and was getting throughly frustrated. I was doing this so I could know how to properly use these manual formula so I could tend correctly use the formula for Part of Spirit. Ugh.

So I hunted around another site and found this really cool Arabic Parts generator (here: http://www.noendpress.com/pvachier/arabicparts/index.php ) and then quickly realized that astro.com doesn't account for the traditional difference between diurnal and nocturnal charts (you flop-flip the two formulas for POF and POS depending on what kind of chart). Hence, in my case, because I have a diurnal chart, what astro.com said was my POF is really my POS! UGH!!!

Did anyone else know of this? To summarize: if you are using astro.com charts to find your POF, and you were born before noon (nocturnal) then what it calcuats is in fact your POF. If you were born after noon, then it's really your POS. The Horoscopechat article at the link above explains this.

Anyhow, this is good news. 11 Gem is a much better place for my POS than my POF, which is (now I know) 18 Sag and is conjunct my IC and in the 4th house. Yeah! Finally a reason to like my IC!!!

Whoo...now that mystery is solved I'm going to go watch the History Channel presents "High Hitler" about Hitler, his private physician and his many drug addictions (what would you expect of a man with both a Cap moon and Cancer Mars anyhow? LOL...I'm sure I p*ssed some Cap moon/Cancer Mars guy off witht hat comment.)

Bye

I did not know about that difference in astro.com's interpretation of the POF, etc., but yes, I discovered that calculator a while back and have shared the link with others, but newbies arrive every day, so thank you for sharing.

That's also the site I used to do my experiment on "Attraction by Degrees", when asking everyone to post the Sun/Moon/Degrees, and I used their calulator to find the Midpoint.

take the distance between the sun and moon (how many degrees?) Add that to the Asc degree voila... part of fortune (for those of you who want to do it on your own)
